  • A short film about adventure, connection to the wild and plastic pollution, even in the most inaccessible places.
Cal paddled 200 miles over 2 weeks to become the first woman to circumnavigate the Isle of Skye on SUP. Her aim was to use the adventure as a platform to highlight that even the remotest and wildest places are still subject to plastic, and what we can do about it.
Skye's The Limit has travelled in prestigious film festivals around the globe to help educate and inspire, and has won multiple awards along the way.

What an amazing adventure and stunning film! It saddens me though to see so much plastic even in these desolate areas. I am quite new to paddling, but already collect what i can when out on the water. I hope that by the time my daughter grows up, plastic in our oceans will be a thing of the past. Keep up your brilliant work Cal!

Just found your channel Cal and want to thank you so much for sharing and caring. Great achievement. We all need to have a rethink about how we live our lives. We really are making such a mess of things. All the best in the future.

In the nicest possible way it's great to see you struggling with the sea conditions. I'm a sea kayaker and the sea kayaking community is full of snobs who look down at anybody who ends up struggling in difficult conditions as if it's their own fault, like you should have made better decisions, should have been better prepared, or shouldn't be paddling on the edge of your limits to begin with. Usually these people are the ones that like to talk about things and never actually "do"anything.
It's great to push yourself and achieve amazing things. Times like that usually feel better in retrospect than when you're there in the moment, but that doesn't take away the pleasure of doing them.
This is a really great film for a variety of reasons. It's not the people of Skye who are discarding the plastic on the beaches, but everybody has to take responsibility. It's a world issue impacting on people everywhere and until we start to take note nothing will ever change.
Keep up the good work and don't ever stop doing things your own way.

This is amazing Cal. What an adventure. I wouldn't have thought this was possible on a paddleboard, this is a really amazing achievement.
Given me lots of thoughts about plastic too.

Super inspiring! Makes me want to go out and have a big adventure.
Curious how the starboard touring sup holds up in windy and choppy condition. Would you recommend it for long distance open sea expedition?

Thank you! For long days on the water, I wear dry trousers (Palm Equipment Atom pants) mostly, or Neoflex leggings and just normal layers and a jacket on top. Long distances in a wetsuit is predisposing to chafing and poor temperature regulation, but if its really choppy or likely to fall in I would wear a wetsuit. I tend not to fall in any more :)

It’s a myth that most plastic is recyclable.

Nobody seemed to care about pollution when it came to single use face masks. They also will be there for about 400 years.
