- Its been a slow start to the warmth loving squash plants this year. But finally they have started to grow. Growing five different varieties this year, there's nothing better than a home grown squash.
Another great Vlog. Crossing everything for a bumper squash harvest for you. I'm only doing butternut this year, fingers crossed I get a couple, I have 4 plants so I should be OK. My neighbour has several hives so we've been ok for pollinators. Just the other day I saw my first cabbage white butterfly. I reckon the pollinators have all got sense and they're all holidaying abroad in the sunshine. Take care and look forward to the next vlog.
I'm seriously look at some hives. We can have them with council permissions 🤔. May be a future plan. Good luck on the butternut though. That's one I'm going to miss this year

I chitted all my squash this year it makes it easier to see if they germinated. 😂😂 I spent enough years staring at a pot of dirt waiting. Glad your squash are doing well Helen. My trombonchino is taking over the brassica cage roof 😂 but that’s ok. Have a fab week, Ali 🌤️🇨🇦
See I have a habit of forgetting about seeds I'm chitting 😂.. find them months later when there finding there way out the boiler cupboard 🤣

That's fantastic 😀. We have a few different varieties this year. Just the 1 bumblebee, though so far. The bees are here. But not on mass. 😩

I haven’t seen many wasps this year.
I've seen one... in my drink, that's it for this year. Normally, we always see wasp nests around. I haven't seen one this year.
What kind of flowers are you going to seed now that comes up next year?
I'm not sure as yet. I have cornflowers and delphinium, stocks and obviously sweet peas again. But i want to changed the flower border the end of the season. So I may wait to see how that goes.
What are you looking at sowing?
