Well, Mrs. Daniel's mother, you have raised a very fine young man. Inspiring to see that he has put much of his good upbringing towards a worthy cause by helping others. So for being able to share in his wisdom and experience, I thank you for your part in enabling me to. Those meals look excellent as well. Let me know if Daniel is able to loan you out on occasion as a surrogate mother!

You are very correct! His mother has taught him well. My grandmother taught painful lessons (I do recall some mild corporal punishment and physical correction), regarding etiquette, respect, and unconditional love. It has taken a long time to see the value in those painful lessons. My beloved and wonderful wife of twenty-one years has benefited from my grandmother's instruction. Unfortunately for my beloved wife, I am continue to suffer from very mild "Knucklehead Syndrome"! Husband can do some stupid things for no good reason!

Hi Daniel, I have just recently found your great yt videos. I very much appreciate your humble and down-to -earth attitude. I have been most of my life on a healthy diet, and I do exercise on regular basis. I absolutely agree with you about having only 3 meals a day. I feel the same, distracted and even tend to put on weight when I have 5 small meals ( in my mind that is 5 snacks) rather than 3 regular ones. Thanks for being an inspiration .

Again, great video! I agree with all your nutrition philosophies. Its hard for me get my clients to grasp these concepts at times and you put here very eloquently. Health and fitness should be one of the joys of life. Consistency is key and diet and exercise should be fun, not stressful with ups and downs. You can eat the things you love and enjoy life rather than turning them into a negative thing. That only leads to binging....Keep it up man!

FitnessFAQs This is unrelated to this video, but can you please read it and give me your thoughts. So I was able to do around 12 reps of pull ups about 2 months ago then I had exam break where I only worked out 3 times during the whole 3 and a half weeks. After I got back to training. I can only do 5 pull ups with proper form then I rest for 2 minutes then I'm able to get only 3 or 4 in. I took another break for 1 week when I got sick. After I recovered I did a deload week and still my strength is still the same. I have been eating enough and sleeping 8-9 hours usually. Sometimes 7- 7 1/2.
      Any help would be appreciated.

***** I don't have access to heavy weights atm. Heaviest dumbbells I have is 31 kg. For rows I can do 12 reps with that. But on pull ups I'm really struggling.

Finally some nutrition. There are hundreds of training videos on the internet and how to train, but everybody of those motivation/training channels/personas talk about nutrition or extremely rare, which is weird because without it, the people wont progress. It might sound trivial to some advanced people, but as a beginner this should be the first thing to learn

Regarding my eating habit, i follow an old saying: Breakfast, eat like an emperor. Lunch, eat like a king. Dinner, leave for the enemy.
Especially in the evening, i try not to stress my bowel, so it can relax and regenerate through the night. If i eat a lot of heavy things at dinner, my Gastrointestinaltrakt has to work all night, which is bad for me.
Back in the day, i ate a lot at dinner, but i tried that old saying and it worked well for me. My sleep is better and deeper too.
I don't watch the exact quantity of food i eat either. I don't even look at my weight often, i use the mirror sometimes and if i like what i see, its okay. Especially with a lot muscle mass, weight can be deceiving.
I like to snack some things between breakfast and lunch and until 6 pm. Things like dried apricots, dried meat and Chia seeds ( with a lot of water ).
I avoid bad quality food like the devil the holy water though. If you i had to choose between a small amount of quality food and a big amount of bad quality / GMO "food", i would always take the former option. Good food does real wonders to physical and psychlogical capabilities.

Really good video showing portions of foods you eat. I have a fee questions Daniel -
    1. Approx how much protein do you consume on training and non training days?
    2. Do you not emphasize fats? eggs? avocados? coconut oil? nuts?
    3. Finally.. how do you eat so damn much? Doesn't shoveling so much food down your throat get difficult? I have small eating capacity and don't know how I can get in sufficient calories without feeling like puking.
    4. Gaining muscle comes with fat on belly. How do you stave that off?

Inspiration for you: Try clean Vegan. I eat oatmeal with bananas, Tahin and water in the morning (2 bananas, 100g of each and 400 ml water) and for dinner a big bowl of salad (rice or noodles mixed up with the same amount of some raw cut vegetables, and as a sauce just sieved tomatoes). No salt (in the beginning everything tastes like nothing, but believe me, 3 months later everything tastes better than ever). No sugar. These are concentrated chemicals. Lots of water

Daniel I love your channel, great content. All your advice seems to be science based which is excellent, as well informative and very motivational. I notice that carbohydrates are a good proportion of your diet, with the recent (last few years anyway) trend of Low Carb, High Fat eating (LCHF), and intermittent fasting mainly aimed at lowering inflammatory responses in your body whether you have an opinion on this dietary lifestyle. The LCHF lifestyle seems to be supported by many medical professionals both international as well as Australian based Doctors....Thanks again for a great channel...

This is what I'm talking about. I'm so frustrated with these militant minded people who follow certain diets and claim that if your not doing what they do then you won't get the same awesome results.
I also have a GIANT issue with all the people who claim their awesome physiques are mostly made in the kitchen and not the gym(or wherever it is they workout). What!? So if you only worked out half as hard as you do now but still ate the same diet you'd still get the same results??? How does anyone believe this??? Doesn't it make much more sense that if many different people can have opposing opinions to diet and fitness but all have fantastic results none the same that much of what they are trying to argue about diet just isn't true at all? And based on that doesn't it seem increasingly likely that the results they experience are because of their overall work ethic and not any specific type of fad diet. AHHHHH SO ANGRY!

Awesome Video Daniel! Nutrition is what I need to work on the most. Do you recommend any books or resources on learning more about nutrition specific for health and building muscle?
    Thank you for uploading this!

I'll be verry short on what I eat maybe 5 days a week ,I have 4 meals for the day.
1 meal is my breakfast 4 eggs, tomatoes and a glass of raw kefir
2 meal is 110-130 grams chicked breasts with brockoli
3 meal is like my pre-workout it is oats with raw kefir, banana and berries
and 4 meal is my post-workout its chicken, pork or veal meat with rice and rukula :))
That works for me through the 2 years I've been training :))

Hi Daniel - great thanks for another video!!!!!!!! Your content is totally awesome!!!!!!!! What is your opinion on high carbs breakfast for people at the age of nearly 50 years old (active male). Should we limit carbs intake (as some experts admit) or this is absolutely individual?

I would also recommend training on an empty stomach. The body uses most amount of energy digesting food and you were trying to train as well? It will take a little bit getting used to because you have a habit of eating. And I would also recommend not eating for an hour after that way the body will eat the fat in the muscle and not the food that you digest
