Bobbin as it is called is an excellent way to incorporate thick threads that cannot go through the needle.

@@lisbethbredgaard7835 Some machines have a separate bobbin case so the bobbin tension can be loosed. Also use matching color in the top. Tighten the top tensioner. This will help draw up the bobbin thread.

Great trick. Not sure if it would work on some of the machines ( like mine) where the bobbin loads horizontally and sits in a pocket on sewing machine deck.

Do you mean the top loading bobbin like most machines are now? Because if so, it does work. I had a go at it yesterday after seeing this.. Didn't have to alter tension or anything.
