My name is Eric and I travel with my 26lb cat, “Jax” in a 2012 Coachmen Mirada 32BH Class A Motorhome on a Ford Super Duty truck chassis. (V10 Triton) We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round. I travel with a 2009 Honda CMX 250 on the back of my RV on a Titan Ramp 600lb carrier. Bike goes 78mph and gets 70mpg. Another excellent idea and video, Eric.. although I have a [Warning] for those considering this: I grew up in Texas. The Texas Vehicle Inspection is very tough/thorough. Don't do this if you are one of those people who routinely have minner vehicle issues "ie.. one or two of your 12 running lights out, or one of your 3 break lights keeps going out" etc... The Texan Vehicle Inspection expects every vehicle to work they way it did when it was bran new, and for everything to work 100% "without question". They don't care if you have 12 other running lights, or two other break lights - your vehicle will fail the inspection. Additionally, I would suggest replacing all your windshield wipers and tires "if they don't look bran new" - before going to have your vehicle inspected. I hope this helps someone considering this. May everyone have (Safe and Happy Travels) wherever life leads you..!

Sounds complicated. In South Dakota, I just have to send them the title and a bill of sale for plates. No inspection and no emissions. I don’t even have to show proof of insurance. Very simple.

For 1900 you can build a hefty desktop computer, and 900 is left for a good cooling kit for the CPU and a backup SSD hard drive. I still have a Toshiba mini laptop from 2010, I never had issues in the 9 years I have owned it.

Can i use my cargo van? I dont have an rv but I modified the interior of my cargo van to be liveable
I did this online. No problems. Texas is not first choice....it just made sense. Escapees is the way to go. And my insurance rates went up (from Louisiana, which was a shocker). Still worth it.
Any one have recommendations on full time rv insurance companies that allow converted box trucks/step vans? Thanks! 👍
I believe your insurance is cheaper is because Livingston is a rural area (town ) If you were in Dallas or Houston your insurance would be a lot higher. :O)
I registered in a small town; because, they don't require a Safety or Emissions test. Also small towns have better insurance rates, for my "Jay Leno" fleet of cars. ...Also...
Those computer boards are super easy to "DIY'. My Elementary School ZOOM students fixed those for teachers all the time, and made DIY videos (for some things).

remember you must get your rv or car inspected every year. IN TEXAS. you can not re-register your car/rv unless you inspect first. so you will be going to texas at least once a year. other than that its great. no you will not be fine. 3 days my foot i live here. YOU CAN NOT RE-REGISTER YOUR CAR/RV UNLESS YOU GET INSPECTION FIRST. so enjoy driving around in other states but if you ever need to provide your current registration and say like if a cop asks you for lic and registration . your screwed. polk county does not do smog test. but in all Texas counties you will need a safety inspection. 2017 we came very close to eliminating annual safety inspection. until they do I would advise inspect than re registration. One can register their car in any county and get inspections in any county as long as the inspections meet the requirements of the county your registered in. If they ever get rid of safety inspections in tx we all will be golden and only come back home when we want not when tx tells us to.
I think it's awesome how you try all these different things and share them with the world. A LOT of people have these questions and it is much easier hearing it from someone who has gone through it rather than trying to figure it out by splicing together information from 6 different agency websites. Well, you have to show up for a vehicle inspection once a year in Texas. In SD, you only have to be there one night to get a driver's license, and you can get an extension at five year mark so that's one visit a decade. Also, I repeat - YOU CAN TITLE AND REGISTER A VEHICLE IN SD WITHOUT BEING A RESIDENT OR HAVING A SD DRIVER'S LICENSE OR SHOWING UP AT ALL EVEN FOR A DAY - ALL REMOTELY.

I’m already a Texan resident and I plan in becoming a nomad. The only downside for me is the annual inspection and registration requirement for Texas.

I’m a FL resident and we have no vehicle inspection at all. However whatever works for you it’s an individual thing.
Make sure to stop-by the magnolia beach south of Houston. Free camping and it’s very clean.

Now they have it in Texas where you can't get your registration until they see the inspection having been completed in the system.
Class c is a standard drivers license class a is the biggest license but this is a great video on information i do enjoy watching your videos i personally will be traveling full time myself in my 1998 Fleetwood bounder
TX puts the tags on the window sheild rather than the tag itself because they used to have problems with people stealing the tags off the liscense plates and putting it on their own.
My wife and I are planning on going full time as soon as we retire. When I was searching for domicile information I stumbled on your South Dakota video and became a subscriber. Since then I have enjoyed everyone of your videos. If I remember correctly I noticed your Texas plates on your video camera installation video and posted a question about it. Thank you for explaining everything about becoming a resident in both SD and Texas. I have a few more years before we are ready so I have time for more research. Hopefully we will see you on the road someday!

Florida has high car insurance rates, however if you are a Disney fan, Florida residents get great discounts off Disney annual passes and accommodations.

Eric I am sure you have looked around but you might want to contact an independent repair service. Louis Rossmann out of NY seems to know what he is doing, and he would be less expensive than Apple. A backup never hurts.

A DC in board from the Rossmann Repair Group is about $80, a screen won't be anywhere near the $1,000 mark, and a new battery's probably another $70-$90 as well. So you could revive your MacBook for a fee of about $500, I'd guess.

don't you have a yearly vehicle inspection? And i heard that you may need a commercial air brake license if you have a diesel pusher RV.
I covered all the inspection details in length in this video, and the loopholes. And I don't drive a diesel pusher, so I'm not sure. If the weight of your RV is over 26,000lbs, you need a CDL license. But Texas is not the only state that puts weight limits on normal licenses.
I was a Texas resident for 40+ years but you have to get your vehicle inspected every year, so you have to go back to Texas yearly. In Alabama ya have NO vehicle inspections, I thought that was crazy since I grew up in Texas and never knew you could live in a state that didn’t do that. That’s just a pain in the a$$ about Texas

Florida , probably no longer than 2 hours, license, registration, title and no vehicle inspection ... but if you bought your vehicle out of state they higg you with a fee like 400 bucks or so
Actually if you fail an inspection for whatever reason get it fixed and go back to the same inspection station they do not charge twice.
We do have a question I'm not sure if you'll be able to answer but currently we have our truck registered in Florida we are purchasing an RV in California but we what our RV to be registered also in Florida is that something that we can do once we purchase the RV here in California or do we have to take the trailer all the way to Florida to register it?

Welcome to Escapees. Everything with Escapees has worked great for us. I dislike the annual vehicle inspection. We had problems finding someone to inspect our RV in San Angelo but most places will do it without hesitating. You have the y'all down pretty well.
We are Escapees member. We will be domicile out of Livingstone in March. Thank you for the vlog of the resort. So exciting. We are looking forward to Rock Springs rally in June.
Texas is probably the most central location for nomads. You have a medical issue you can get back to TX faster than any other state.

Has anyone mention using a boat engine bay blower (bilge)
Have used these blowers on a few RZR clutch vent system and proven for the belt to run much cooler
There are different inlet outlet sizes which is different CFM
Hope this gives you an other option
I want to do this but I want to do the drivers license part first, then buy a new rv seperate. Can I do that?
