Top tip for dealing with sandfly or mosquito bites: a hot teaspoon, the one you stir your coffee with, get the spoon hot and apply it to the bite. As long as you haven't scratched, the heat neutralizes the proteins in the bite and it really is an instant fix! You know you got it spot on if you feel instant relief. If you don't get that immediate relief, the spoon isn't hot enough or you didnt get the bite. I've used this for years in all my travels in Europe and Central America. I promise it works!!! ❤
Just want to comment and say that my wife and I just finished our two week trip to New Zealand. We largely followed this literary and it worked out great for us! Thank you for this wonderful video. The only thing I'll add (which you've covered in one of your videos) is to try to make time for the overnight Doubtful Sound tour at Fiordland National Park. We did that instead of Milford and loved it. Thank you again.
Time flies - today last year we were driving from Te Anau to Queenstown. We did so many epic things and were fortunate to spend 5 weeks in your beautiful country. This video just makes me wanting to go back again even more :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. Make sure you check out my itinerary that goes with the video. So much more great information in it. 🗺️: bit.ly/14DaysInNewZealand
“This is one of the best videos I’ve seen. I was wondering if you could create a smooth and enjoyable itinerary that covers everything I need during my trip to New Zealand. I’ve already bought air tickets and booked a rental car. I will arrive in Queenstown on November 11 and fly to the North Island on November 20. We have 3 days to explore the North Island and will return to our country on November 24. Could you please help make our honeymoon the most memorable trip ever?”
Hey! Yes I certainly can. You can hire me to give custom recommendations or create a custom itinerary. www.thatch.co/seller/services/recs/@AlexanderAyling Or we can hop on a travel planning call and work through your itinerary together. www.alexanderayling.com/book-an-appointment
Hey this video was awesome Alex :) I've been following you for a few years now, and I just wanted to say you're crushing it!!! Your travel content is SO GOOD!! Also, a hugeeeee congrats on baby girl!!!!!
Distance in a straight line from kiataia to bluff is 833 miles about that from las vagas to seattle. By road its 1223 miles . The roads are windy, hilly and often only two lanes it takes far more time then distance alone suggests. The ferry trip across the cook straight is over open ocean on a good day its great if its rough you may need sick sickness meds. Try ginger it works for me without the side effects of usual sea sickness medication . Guaranteed if you spend only 14 days in NZ you will leave with a list of things you did not have time for .
Thanks so much for posting these videos! They have been so helpful with our trip planning. We are traveling to New Zealand in November. After the initial flights we are only going to have about 13 days. We were gonna try to do both islands, but are now leaning toward just one. We are big LOTR fans and Hobbiton is a must do. If we were to do the South Island, we’d need a day set aside to go there. Do you have a recommendation?
Hey! You’re so welcome! I think it’s possible but you’d need to do some serious planning. I highly suggest you grab a copy of my NZ itinerary (South Island) and book a 1 on 1 travel planning call with me to iron out logistics. I'm assuming the van rental company let you cross by ferry? When I was there in February I rented a car with Hertz and if i was going to take the ferry I needed to leave the car in Wellington and pick up a new one in picton.
Hii am going newzealand (south) in december.. i heard its summer season but the temp is like 15-25degrees. Do i pack layers or summer wear? Im from Singapore so for us its always summer and always very hot😅
Hey! I'm currently working on a New Zealand packing guide, stay tuned! In the meantime, grab a copy of my South Island travel itinerary for much more information and a map of all my favorite spots! Grab your copy here: bit.ly/14DaySouthIslandRoadTrip
I'm doing a solo trip March 2024. I'm thinking about just doing a month on the South island. Save the north for another trip. You think that is a better way to go?
They are so so so different. It really depends. Obviously a tropical trip it’s Costa Rica, but if you want a more varied experience then NZ is the call.
Thank you so much! I assume it would cost the same. I have wanted to go to NZ since I graduated from HS 1974. I heard a lot of good things about their people and of course the environment as well.@@AlexanderAyling
Hey Alexander ... I was a big fan of your other youtube channel Vaga Brothers and hope your bro is doing fine. Quick question .. I am a US Citizen and plan on going to New Zealand next year ... Do I need a Visa? to enter the country or can I just buy a plane ticket and fly out there from California?
I couldn’t agree more but that’s what lots of people have. I’d suggest at least 21 days. I’ve got another great itinerary for that as well. bit.ly/21DaysinNewZealand

Two weeks is just barely enough to see the main attractions on both islands. Thanks for sharing
This video is going to be quite helpful & informative for the tourists.
