Greetings to my Roman brothers in Pannonia. Nice to see the memory of our old civilization still preserved and that the Orthodox chants sung were recorded in my country Lebanon (Phoenicie, Diocese Oriens). Rome's memory is eternal.

I love to hear the modernized version of the Eastern liturgy as the sound chosen to represent our reenacting efforts in Carnuntum :)

Some historians consider that the Middle Ages did not begin in 476 AD, but in the 4th century with DIOCLETIAN and CONSTANTINE, since they laid the foundations of the Middle Ages, from there, the ROMAN EMPIRE was more medieval than ancient. .
Others, that the Middle Ages began in the 6th century, after the death of Justinian, the last emperor of the EASTERN who tried to rebuild the entire Roman Empire.
Others say that the Middle Ages began with CHARLE THE GREAT, German emperor of the 8th century AD.
Others, that the period, between the 3rd and 6th centuries, the so-called LATE ANTIQUITY, should be its own era, that is, neither the ancient age nor the middle age, but both, since both worlds coexisted.
      (Sorry my bad english)

I am new to this site. I am LJ Steele and am a retired History Educator and museum professional. This is so nice to have discovered this site. My mom was a history major as well and she was interested in Mesopotamia and the early Christian communities. My lifelong interests are Ancient Egypt, Rome and the multicultural world of Ancient History. Will be back for more.

Hollywood sad to say is still stuck in the era of the so-called "Sandd and Swords" era from 1947-1965. They need to start talking to modern folks who do reenactments and hire professors and educators like me and other folks who contribute to this site on how to really produce a newer version of this era. Sorry but I am just speaking my mind. I have some experience in working with reenactors from a different era, but I get irritated when I see stuff like this getting messed up.

      It's wrong.
The One Holy Catholic Church from its beginning had an Orthodox Doctrine expressed by the Holy Seven Ecumenical Councils before the great scheme. The Germanic Goths and Franks changed everything in the western Roman Empire with their invasion, altering the sacred doctrines through a succession of heresies over the centuries. Papacy, Protestantism, Anglicanism, etc.
      Search and learn properly.
