HUGE help with this video. I'm very new to the hobby and my new model (Eflite T28 1.1) is not listed on my NX8 so I have to program it manually. I was completely lost when asking for help from others. This video broke it down so that even a tech challenged person like me can understand.

Great vid, it definitely is frustrating when there are so many features, buttons, knobs, switches and outlets for internet hook up and such. I’ve had a couple tx’s with so many features so just want say thank you for the vid. It will help out a lot. I’ve watched a few vids but some people just go through the features to fast and don’t explain things clearly. You did a awesome job showing and explaining and simplify what to do. Thank you

I recently got an NX8, which is my first programmable TX, and found myself frustrated selecting the sounds because of such a long list. Now I can set up my own category, having learned from this video, and save the frustration going forward. Thanks.
Bill, I feel ya, that list is crazy long, and before I figured it out I thought I was going to have to program my entire hanger going through that list too. Glad I could help. Happy Flying.
You know my DX6e....couple of weeks back it was on ....I was in the mancave farting around and it lost power and the screen went black. This DX6e uses four AA batteries. The batteries still showed...25 percent charge....if I recall...definitely showed some juice left.
It uses batteries...good ones too. I also need to be careful when flying and not run out of juice in my transmitter....omg.....
Nx8 needs to be my next serious purchase in this great hobby. Keep on Flying in the Free World !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got my NX6 after using a simple DXe and it is a steep learning curve for sure. The instructions don't make much sense to me so having videos like yours is a great help. I fly helicopters but your video was still helpful for the basics. Maybe an NX was overkill for me but now I have it I'd like to learn all the functions. Looking forward to any further NX videos you make!

This is a great video! So detailed and my NX 8 is coming today, so can't wait to sit with this video and set-up at least one of my planes with this radio today to take to the field tomorrow! When I first bought my Spektrum NX8 my friend setup my settings for my A-10 and he went so fast, all the settings were perfect but I was lost I have played with the NX8 and sort of got it but thank you for the video now I understand, Again Thanks

Maybe I'm prejudiced because you belong to FlyRC, but you did a nice presentation on the NX8 Setup (I have an NX10), I learned some things I didn't know. You're style of presenting was clear and just plain easy to watch. Suggestions for additional content? I've been dabbling with the newish Eachine mini warbird series lately and struggling with the setup for the Eachine TX16S open tx transmitter, seems my little T28 needs to be rebound for every flight. Others on the internet have experienced the same problem but at least on other reviewer used a Radiomaster TX16S and he didn't need to rebind with each flight. Not to pull you away from the Spektrum ecosystem, but it seems to me that at least for smaller, cheaper, RTF park fliers Eachine has come out with some other very interesting planes in the last year, including a 50mm F16 a few months ago, and an F18 just last week that Brian Phillips reviewed. These last two were PNP but the mini warbirds were all Eachine protocol and the standard transmitter they come with has a huge dead spot in the middle of the aileron/elevator stick which necessitates (?) use of the hobby grade Open TX transmitters which seem to fix that particular problem.

Sorry to hear that. Yes the start up took a long time, but once you get that out of the way your golden!
Great video. I have a DX-8 gen one and was thinking of upgrading to a NX 8 or !0. Can I put my planes on a sim card from my 8 and transfer them to a nx-8 or 10. If I can't I probally wont upgrade. My current radio works fine.
So bad news there, which I had to learn the hard way, you cannot transfer data from DX to NX via sim card. It has to all be done manually, and it sucks! Sorry brother.

Manny did you update your Firmware when I went into the wifi and connected a update popped up for the firmware 3.04 the old was 3.03 mine is now updated , there is a repair made to a glitch problem occurring with the older receivers and servos more.
Your more help than Horizon Spektrum people.
Rafael, I did update the firmware, and check it most of the time as I am charging the night before I go out. Also, this problem was very specific to this plane, which is most likely a problem that developed from a crash that was not addressed.
I have a DX6e and now I’m stepping up to the NX8 you did a great job on your video I subscribed I was wondering is there any way of turning the volume up on that unit or down? I just ordered mine today so I’m trying to get educated before it gets here. Thanks, Bill
Hi Bill, thanks for watching. You can turn the volume up for sure. When your looking at the main screen before you go to the menu, hit the back button and it will toggle the volume, then use the roller to go up or down. I like it at 85. Hope this helps. Happy flying.

I have a NX8 and it stopped binding to my receiver. With the bind plug or by holding the switch at powerup. I haven't a clue how this happened as if it can't link with the NX8 anymore. Baffled.
Reach out to Horizon. Sounds like an internal problem.

Yes there is a volume, when you are looking at the main screen (the one that shows when you fly) hit the back button, then use the wheel to go left a right to make the volume higher or lower. Cheers

Thanks The NX8 has a lot of capacity but I find it to be very user unfriendly. Just got it but I cannot seem to reverse servo throw. It was be helpful if you slowed down illustrating these functions some as us old school guys need time to figure this out. I only hope the radio turns out to be AR better than the customer service associated with this radio. Right now there is none.

Do I need to bind the NX 8 to the aircraft every time I change out the planes battery or is that just for the initial model setup? I used to have a DXS and it would connect to the aircraft without having to bind it every time. How do I get the NX 8 to do that? Im new to RC so I'm probably missing something obvious.
Hi Kevin, thanks for checking out my Vid. The NX 8 requires you to bind once, then you are done. check your RX in the plane and make sure you have taken out your bind plug, or else every time you put in a new battery you will be in bind mode. Hope this helps, cheers.
Hello guys, I'm upgrading from my Tactic TTX650 Transmitter to a Spektrum probably NX8, does Spektrum AR620 receivers works and bins ok with NX8? or which ones do you recommend, I will appreciate your feedback.
Jose, thanks for checking out my channel, and subbing. Any Spektrum RX will bind ok with this remote. I prefer the less expensive OrangeRX 6ch from Hobby King, but if you want to go with Spektrum products I really like the AR630. It has forward programming, AS3X and Safe if you want it. Hope this helps and safe flying
Hi buddy, I've been binding my models to the nx8, but have I have noticed in the model select screen they are in the list twice ...... Have you to noticed this too or am I doing something wrong ? 🤔
Robert, honestly I have not experienced this problem. This might be a good questions for product support at Horizon. They are really good with helping out, and they are collecting data with the problems on the new TX. good luck.

When I get one will I have to update it right then only Wi-Fi I have is off of my phone I have a I hotspot? don't have a computer or Internet is this a problem when I first get it ,I have the Carbon Cub S2, Blade 230s ,330s, ect or do I just need to get a different one??
You should be able to update off your hotspot just fine.
My freind I am going out of my mind with my nx 8 trying to set up a glider I want left stick (throttle) to do elevator and right stick to do rudder, but it's not happing please ee help (binded fine)

how to bind to a WS2000 dongle for flight sim software?
Tony, that is a great questions. I am not sure what a WS2000 even is, but you should be able to use the included cord and plug your remote right into your PC USB. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
@@RCPlaneAddict yep, thanks. I won't need the dongle with the NX series of radios. Now if I could find someone that has used this or any radio to fly with X-Plane for iMac. I have emailed the people at X-Plane and they say it will connect with most flight sim controls but they have no idea if it will work with a radio. I suppose if the computer changes the output to something X-Plane recognizes as elevator, rudder etc movements it should work. I may have to manually set it up within X-Plane. Thanks for the reply.
hello, i have the plane Carbon cub s2+ in rtf version... this was sold with a smart battery 2200 mah 11.1V 30C and the transmitters Spektrum DXS.
now i want to bind with the universal transmitter NX8. i am enable to bind the plane but i receive also a warning message. How can i resolve that ?
the warning message is :

Hello Dom. Thanks for checking out the video. To be perfectly honest I am unfamiliar with the smart batteries. I would contact Horizon directly with this question. They have improved on their customer support and now offer live chat on their web site. Get in touch with them and let me know how that goes. Otherwise I would buy a different brand of battery, and go fly! Cheers.
it means the battery you are atempting to use in the plane is not charged enough for flight. charge it or change it....and message will go away.

Just got a NX10, can’t connect it with wifi to my Asus router. Error code 2 every time.
Strange. Have you tried contacting Horizon. Maybe you can connect to your phone instead using your hotspot.
Did you put all your expo for dual rates on the same switch ? A E and R ?

I do not put them all on the same switch, no. I like to have control of the aileron, elevator and rudder independently.
What do people use the knob for?
There are a variety of reasons for the knob. For example, some of my planes fly with the Admiral Stability plus RX/Gyro, and the knob controls the gains on the gyro. I have also seen some people put their steering for the landing gear on the knob too. Pilots preference.
Help my wifi wont bind to my modem! None has got the instructions on what to do after entering the password!

Honestly, it is easy, and if you cannot seem to get it to work, chances are there is something wrong with the remote. I would contact Horizon and get a repair claim going as soon as possible.
@@RCPlaneAddict well, 5 days later I think I finally figured out this radio and its quirks. at this point I'm not even going say what I think its biggest pitfalls are.
Wow, sounds like you are going through some stuff. Coming from a DX7S, I love the less weight, the feel of the sticks, the ease of binding, and the voice. I am sorry that you are not seeing the benefits for this remote, but I also do not know where you are coming from, or what you have used in the past to compare. Hopefully, everything will iron out for you. Cheers.
Update: Dont try and bind this radio in what they call safe bind mode. if you are binding this to a safe technology equipped plane, bind to receiver like you normally would to any other receiver using the safe bnf template. and be prepared to move some things and add things.
@@RCPlaneAddict I've got a DXs and also a Flysky IF6 with touchscreen. until I've used this nx8 a bit more I'm gonna hold to my original impression which is mediocre. maybe I just expect a bit more than some.
nx8 spektrum updates erase bnf template airplane names. Any one haveing this happen?
