So Tom in this video needs a little schooling himself when it comes to adjusting the left/right stick spring tension on either gimbal for the NX series. It is the small screw on the inner part of the gimbal itself. If Tom would have done his homework before making this video he would have known that the left/right spring tension is already set as soft as it can be from the factory. That is because that little internal block that slides up and down when you turn the screw in and out, has a capture screw that prevents it from sliding down any further when you turn the screw counter clockwise. If you can stop the video at 16:24 you can see that screw, but tom flips that gimbal around in his fingers so fast that it's a challenge to stop the video just right. When Tom turns the left/right spring tension screw counter clock wise, as if he is making the left/right spring tension softer, it simply backs out and then prevents the gimbal from properly moving up and down correctly. That's because the tensioning block can't move down any further because of the capture screw that prevents it from doing so. You can soften the up/down spring tension because that tension block doesn't have a capture screw and so that block can move both up and down.
Thank you! Very helpful video, with lots of important things to know about the NX. I know this will definitely help out when my NX8 gets here in the next few days!
So much looking forward to my nx6 coming. It's on backorder until July but will be well worth the wait . These awesome videos are going to be great for learning the radio. Thanks!
Originally, (20 years ago), the ratchet throttle was the only difference between a plane tx & a heli tx. Heli's, u didn't want a ratcheting throttle. (Cause, occasionally, u would need the space in between two ratchet spots). I actually had that issue, ONCE! Awesome video again sir!
Thanks for the tutorial - do you know of a way to lock the gimbal in the centre for one of the channels for car use? Basically locking one of the channels out?
Thank you, very helpful. One small suggestion, could you add a chapter minute reference in the description. For example I wanted to learn about throttle ratcheting. It starts at 9:30. Listing the chapters by minute would make this reference even better. Cheers.
Be careful when adjusting the screws, because there is no stop on them, they will unscrew and fall out,had this happen to me, and it’s a pain in the ass to get the screw back in,so be careful.
im in canada i have a nx8 and i swear it is the best i have ever owned but i cant find the switch or combination of switches to make this damn SNOW go away any feed back is welcome lol good channel keep it up
My throttle stick wont tension on NX10SE. I originally purchased the NX10SE as a mode 2 then changed it to mode 1 and only just realised that the throttle stick was so loose and when trying to tension it as per the manual it wouldn't tension? it's still loose. Any help will be much appreciated..
I've just programmed my NX7e and when I apply input to the right stick, pushing straight up , it'll freak out on the monitor screen and aileron (left or right input) will randomly jump (up) to 90% stay there, then come back down. It's brand new. Is there anything to do ? Or system return it ? Have a great Summer Ya'll
hi! do you know if there's any way to inhibit a switch, in my case the gear switch, until another condition is met, for example, throttle cut is turned off? i really want to build in a safety system like this to prevent accidental gear retraction on the ground but not sure if it's possible...
Hey I just got my nx8 and got the stick calibration messed up it's kinda like other way around now so my right stick is now throttle which is messed up so any tips how to make it defult?
How easy is that to make the left stick center with tension. I want to use a NX8 for my Tamiya Semi trucks and trailers. Thanks for showing all of this.
Thanks for this video, made things a bit clear. But just one comment, it gets very confusing for me with the lose gimble, rather show it when its in the radio. showing the workings of the gimble is is ok, thats interesting, but not for adjusting it
Running into this issue now, coming from radios with softer springs the NX is way to stiff for me. You don’t happen to know where to source a softer gimbal spring so you? Backed out to the point of the set screw contacting the face plate it’s still ridiculously stiff
Yep, same issue for me. The sticks on this thing are ridiculously stiff, even with adjustment backed off all the way. Sure would like some softer springs.
Yeah same here I fly heli’s and this is bin awful experience with the nx radio 😢 the pitch throws me off now even if I try to get used to it I just can’t
yes you can. Simply have it so both gimbals spring to center with the appropriate screw. At that point it really does not matter what mode you set IF you are only going to use it for surface vehicles. Hope that helps!
On the NX10 I was working on the right side it has 2 screws for the ratchet I must of turned it to much not on the ratchet screw but the ratchet tension screw came out. Should I be fine or would I have to open it and fix it?
Hi only problem I have is when I switch to mode 1 the switches under the covers. When I switch them over like you say the throttle only goes down to 13 and up to 87. If I don't switch those switches over then the throttle goes down to 1 and up to 99.
Thanks for trying, but I found this to not be helpful. Way too much about changing mode settings, which is so rare that could’ve been its own video and flipping the gimbal upside down and backwards so much completely confused me. Sorry it didn’t work for me.
Deutsche Unterstützung für das Produkt ist leider sehr mangelhaft, nach 2 Jahren weis ich jetzt auch das der D Markt zu klein ist, um das zu ändern Wann gibt es endlich deutsch sprachige Videos, Danke Horizont

A very informative video. Thank you for sharing you knowledge.
I'm certainly a tightly tensioned throttle spring flyer. It gives me ultimate rudder control. Thanks for the info....Happy Flying!!!!
Great explanation, thank you for the breakdown of the gimbal.
Thank you! Very helpful video, with lots of important things to know about the NX. I know this will definitely help out when my NX8 gets here in the next few days!
Thanks for the explanation. Very helpful. Used it right away to adjust my new radio - which i was very unhappy with before the adjustment.
So much looking forward to my nx6 coming. It's on backorder until July but will be well worth the wait . These awesome videos are going to be great for learning the radio. Thanks!

Awesome video again sir!
For a beginner with air Tx this is very helpful. 🤙
Thank you very much! This helped me tremendously!
Very helpful. Thank you. I fly mode one, so this helped with the gimble changes.
Glad it helped!
Awesome video, very helpful indeed!
Thanks for the tutorial - do you know of a way to lock the gimbal in the centre for one of the channels for car use? Basically locking one of the channels out?
Muchas gracias por el video, acabo de ajustar los gimbals a mi gusto. Greetings fromM Mexico.
I had no idea HOW the mode 1 worked! 👋👋👋👋👋
Dx series had a adjustment in the rear
Very informative, great review.

Thanks brother man. I was looking for the same reference
Great Job, “helpful” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you, very helpful. Where can I get gimbal springs for spektrum? While searching I see other brands, but no spektrum.
Be careful when adjusting the screws, because there is no stop on them, they will unscrew and fall out,had this happen to me, and it’s a pain in the ass to get the screw back in,so be careful.

my DX6 does not seem to have those adjustment screw options -
looks like I would have to take the radio apart to get to the inside -
is that right ?

I want my throttle gimbal upside down, so that it goes faster when I pull the stick down. Is that possible?

Thank you so so much

extremely easy! Literally one screw to loosen and it will spring to center.
@@SpektrumRCvideos Thanks. I just rewatched this. Is the NX radios have ball bearing gimbals?
Thanks for this video, made things a bit clear. But just one comment, it gets very confusing for me with the lose gimble, rather show it when its in the radio. showing the workings of the gimble is is ok, thats interesting, but not for adjusting it
Does this work on NX10SE as well?
You cannot adjust the tensions to anywhere near as soft as the DX series without changing the springs

Same thing here springs are very stiff

Thank you for your video. Can It convert mode2 or mode1 to neutral mode?
I want to apply it to 1/16 vehicles
yes you can. Simply have it so both gimbals spring to center with the appropriate screw. At that point it really does not matter what mode you set IF you are only going to use it for surface vehicles. Hope that helps!
Are all spektrum Air Radios M3 posts? (Specifically the DX Series for my purpose)
Not all but most are yes. The exception being the DX18 and tray style transmitters
Good engineering. Best viewed at 0.75 playback speed.
I had a sticky left stick from the factory. Luckily by loosening the tension it solved the issue.
Do the Hall Effect gimbals “feel” different than the nx 6 gimbals?
I have an NX10. I used to have a DX6. I cannot feel any difference in the gimblals.
On the NX10 I was working on the right side it has 2 screws for the ratchet I must of turned it to much not on the ratchet screw but the ratchet tension screw came out. Should I be fine or would I have to open it and fix it?
It would be best to open it and fix it so that nothing is floating around inside the case.
@@SpektrumRCvideos thanks

When you change stick configurations in anyway, you must recalibrate the sticks. Perform that step it it will fix that problem. Hope that helps!
I guess I cant do this on my DXs? Hehe
does this radio have bluetooth so I can use earbuds?
no it does not. but it does have a headphone jack
@@SpektrumRCvideos ok. thanks
