But another large-caliber 1dd iem came out... it's ibasso 3T-154. It has 3 tesla and 15.4mm diaphragm. Even bigger than shozy p20. So.. my hype is switched to that one.
Shortbus now claims these are actually planar and not DD, supposedly same driver as in Letshouer S15... ua-cam.com/video/6nQv9gCgYYQ/v-deo.html Actually, looking at the Linsoul page, it says planar now.
Starting off from what you said about the elevated high frequencies and their unexpected consequences -- Paul, have you ever felt physically nauseous when listening to a set or source? Could that be reversed polarity or something else maybe? Happens to me on the P1 Max and anything connected to the Audioquest Jitterbug FML.
Not on the high end, but some set Michael Bruce sent that had insane subbass. He says, try this track, turn it up and yeah, my brain started panic. At the high end, I don't get nauseous, but I get fatigued and have to put the set down. My brain says enough. That is exactly what happened on P20 on the first night. I was ready to put it back in the box. It is very deceiving as its not necessarily audible, but I get a feeling that says its time to stop. The part you hear, swap tips or something and it usually sounds quieter.
@@PaulWasabii Thanks for the detailed reply, Paul! It's indeed curious how we react to sounds subconsciously -- I wonder what Michael Bruce would say to the nausea... he sounds ike the guy who would experiment on himself quite a bit as he tunes his sets
Just looked up to michael bruce's video and it is indeed a planar. I was eyeing the s12 pro for quite a while or the mp145 (but theres rumors of silent retune), and now the p20 is a planar and is in between as what i see on their fr graphs (p20 lesser subbass on mp145 but more on midbass than the s12pro, the p20 has lower low and mid treble on the two). Hmm another difficult choice i need to make for my first planar. Though the s12pro is available at 10$ cheaper than the p20 in the shop i looked into.
Yes, he ripped mine apart, not sure he put it back together yet. Michael liked both MP145 and P20, not quite the same. As I said, I thought P20 was a bit hard to drive, to get that volume to the point it sounds right. Should have been a tipoff that it was planar. I think that was one area that MP145 got it better, easier to drive for most people.
Please tell me which one is better, ziigaat nuo or the og cadenza. I like the warm sound of the male vocals with a good amount of sub bass and a sparkly , airy treble with a big sound stage, whichever has the bigger stage. Along with good detail retrieval for the money. Which one is suiting me the best. KIWI EARS CADENZA or ZIIGAAT NUO.
Bro I love Airy treble, I'm almost a treble head. So, now tell me which one has a larger soundstage. That's the one I'll take. And also which one has more warm male vocals.
The larger the speaker . The nore juice it needs to show what it can do. Same as club speakers. At low volumes the bass and mids are not there. Pump the volume. Everything appears
Yep, but their sensitivity was higher than I expected. Maybe it was a typo or copied from another set. I think there is the raw, it needs some power to hit an SPL at 1khz, and then the volume it takes for the tuning to sound balanced. That is why I said its easier to start high on this set, you need to hear it right first.
@PaulWasabii from what I saw and understood. I guess I will buy one because of my rock volumes . Open the grill. Place a sponge 5.0 mm High density ,like a 500 mesh. And it will rock. Or place a medium density and then on the grill place other filter with 250 mesh. Mmmmm , me thinking
its actually a single magnetic planar driver. No DD in this set.
Yep, nice one too. Michael Bruce was the one to prove it with my set and then modded it.
Faceplate done on a C&C machine that's why you see machining marks in the pattern.
this is a planar, not a DD
indeed, my set was the one that proved it.
Thanks for reviewing this one Paul!
Good Girl! 👌
Incidentally, Slave, are you VEGAN? 🌱

Yes, I am waiting to see some impressions but also hesitant after this one. No one wants to drop $100usd+ and be underwhelmed.

Yeah that is my set I sent to Michael.
Always appreciate your videos!! 🙂🙂

Crossing fingers to win the linsoul giveaway for this one
I hope you win. Michael Bruce just opened that one and looks to be a planar which makes more sense.
love it.

Great review of an interesting set. Looking at the graph I'd called it more of a W shape rather than a V, though that may not be how it sounds.
Depends on how far you turn the vol knob. It does sound quite different and I would guess most reviews will call it dark.
Dinamic driver huh? Thanks for the review.
Nah, that was my set that Michael opened

Nuo is closer to what you want but there is more airy treble. You will either like that or get fatigued.

Watch the driver is 10mm in size.. TEEHEE. Its surprising how much high end that iem has for being a DD.
Maybe you can pop the back off and take a look.
Great idea, then we’ll know for sure. Hopefully they’re not pulling a fast one on us.

Great video. I subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
