Do you know where the slogan came from, when Jacquline Kennedy flew them from New York to Paris and got off the plane , she was asked what was her flight like, she said "Great People to fly with"

Actually that is pretty much an urban myth. Jackie was flown on PIA from KHI to LHR via THR in March 1962 when she made an unofficial visit to India and Pakistan and there is a video here on YT showing her arrival at LHR on a PIA 720B. The PIA slogan "Great People to Fly With" emerged during discussion between PIA's Omar Kureishi and a foreign advertising agency hired to design PIA ads. During the discussion, the advertising agency representative asked Omar to describe PIA and he replied by saying 'PIA are great people to fly with'. Finally the day came on which the advertising agency gave a presentation to the PIA management to unveil the new ad campaign. Omar was pleasantly surprised to see his remark becoming airline's slogan as 'Great people to fly with' in the ad campaign unveiled by the news agency. The ad campaign and its slogan was given approval by airline's Managing Director Malik Nur Khan.

@@snailguy3431 there are some rotten apples hired during the days of zardari and sharif ,the uneducated kind, the best way is to make such people realize that you as a customer pay there salary, just be kind and use a humble tone, ask them for the cabin crew manual to show where is it written that the crew can misbehave with PAX. Am from Bangladesh and I know very well about the service of Biman! PIA was once the KING Airline of this region. Our crews used to get trained by PIA back then in 70's. No comparison with PIA as Bangladeshi crews are really doofus

The employees of an airline are the most critical part of the airline. Congratulations to PIA for having such an incredible crew on this flight! The steward who served Josh and Nicole provided such friendly service. He knew that they were vloggers I am sure but he really went out of his way to give such hospitable service. I got hungry looking at all of that delicious looking food! Not bad at all for Economy Class! The airlines of this region of the world seem to have a terrible reputation in the Western media. Thanks Josh for showing that that reputation is not always accurate. As always, take care and Happy Travels!

The crew was very welcoming as the people of Pakistan do have to fight with the negativity spread by media against it. It's illiteracy that is one of the major problem of Pakistan. A loyal government will help Pakistan grow better but it will take time as the problems are too deeply penetrated.

As an Indian, I am frankly shocked, bewildered and out of words!!... captain Zafar is so professional, so well behaved and such measured words for a captain!!... frankly if this is THE real face of PIA, then this is beyond any form of description!!!... I am unable to express my feelings actually now because of the bewilderment!!!.. captain Zafar reminds me of hospitality of Indian families back in the early 90’s.. hats off to u, PIA and captain Zafar!!...

My sister flew them with her 18month old who does not sit down. She was so worried the crew and other pax would be annoyed but the crew were amazing. They loved playing with her and even took my niece on a tour of the plane. #amazingcrewpia

The flight attendant zafar was on my flight aswell he was so welcoming and he offered me so much food and tea to my mom and me and he became friends with us!!!

Suzuki GSXFA I flied on pia internationally last year for the first time, from Pakistan to uk. I would say that the food was good but the inflight entertainment was not working. But it’s time saving and money saving. It doesn’t stop in middle it’s a straight flight. Had no problem with turbulence as such and the landing was amazing, didn’t even notice when we landed!

I traveled once with PIA from Dhaka, Bangladesh to London in 1992. It was great.

Whenever I step in PIA I feel like I am in Pakistan already ♥️
I flew from Dubai to Islamabad on PIA (A320). The flight was ok, nothing special but all went smoothly. Once in Pakistan, I had the trip of my life!! I was amazed by their hospitality, truly a fantastic experience.
I am an Indian Sikh travelled with PIA and loved it especially the food

Your experience in PIA is good. I also experienced that when i was traveling to Abu Dhabi UAE with PAL. They give me lot of food and good memories.
Shout out to my man Zafar Cabin Crew) exceptional customer centric approach and standards displayed by him. Josh is hard to please lol, if he's praising one should listen.
PIA used to be among the Top 5 Airlines from 60's till the 80's,
from 90's and onwards, PIA suffered the worst corruption and posting of incompetent people who were relatives of those corrupt politicians ,,
now, an ex-Pakistan Airforce Commander, AM (Rtd) Arshad Malik (Ex-Chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and Brains behind Making JF17 Thunder, a state of the Art Fighter Jet), is presiding over the PIA. and he is committed to Blaze the Lost Glory of PIA.
And the person who was working to bring PIA to its previous glory has been fired by our so call CJP
PIA recently started recovering from a point of loss to point of breakevan point. Pleased to see the service of PIA airlines and their hospitality . I feel a proud citizen of Pakistan !! Thanks alot to you all !!!

I took PIA 777-200er from Tokyo to Beijing on December 2018, but it was kind of awful. It was delayed for about 2 days with no explanation what so ever. Passengers in that flight were very upset and wanted to get to another airline. We did get free hotel, but got there like at 2am and didn't get enough sleep. Once the plane finally arrived from Beijing, they finally told us that the speed brakes were broken and had to order a new one from Islamabad. So it was a dreadful flight on my experience, but seeing this video on you taking this flight, made me realized that the airline changed. So I thank you Josh for making this review on PIA and hopefully I can try this airline again in the future.

I flew PIA in 1987 from Frankfurt to New York and back. The aircraft back then was a 747 bulit in 1965, already 22 years old. I still remember the great hospitality of the crew and the nice food. One of my best flights ever and I still remember it as very pleasant although its been such a long time ago. Back then the inflight entertainment was a screen and a beamer and they were showing 2 movies. The headphones were those old uncomfortable ones which were actually nothing more than 2 long air-hoses. But still, I enjoyed the PIA flight very much back in the good old days.

12:23 in every south Asian plane, the passengers race to get their luggage to be first. Biman, Air India, PIA etc.
I flew back and forth from Cyprus twice and Same thing happened people left there seats and rushed to doors when plane was still on the runway, so let’s not blame SA alone , lot of other cultures do the same.

First vid of yours I've seen! I am now a subscriber! Enyoyed the Whole time! Unique in that I really appreciated your narration!! It was informative but laced with your true enjoyment and humour. So glad PIA is prospering now.
Couple good news:
1. PIA revenue jumped by 45% meaning PIA made more money in last 6 months than last 6 years.
2. PIA all new planes are flying now, inducted 2 planes last month
3. PIA buying 2 new A320s this month
4. PIA buying 4 to 5 new planes next year
5. PIA Buying 15 new planes in next years
Pia might not be the best airline now, but will be in the next 5 years, I see a bright future for PIA under new gov🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰.
For prospective, PIA was downed to 11 planes now they have 32
Oh well are you sure that all planes of the PIA have been replaced though? Because the announcement system of this flight seemed to be out of order.

Brilliant review as always, I believe the reason the AC wasn’t on when on the ground is because the aircraft is not aloud to start its engines/APU while idle at the airport, this is to keep pollution down at the airport, in hot countries like Spain etc.. they have mobile air conditioning on the ground to feed into the aircraft for this reason. Looked like a brilliant flight thanks for the upload

As a frequent flier myself, I can tell you that I would have a nice, hospitable crew like this one, over the best newest, state of the art plane with a mediocre crew...any day of the week!
Agree 100%. I fly with other airlines on business class and their hospitality isn't anywhere near the hospitality and service I've seen on this video and also from what I've heard from friends. Well done PIA and thank you Josh for bringing this video to life. You're a absolute gentleman.

@@yaserhussain6063 not getting better at all I just came from Pakistan the service was very poor and no flipping TV worked especially on the small plane on the way back. For me I'm never going on PIA ever again 👎🏻
FYI,whenever I'm seated with one other traveling companion in a row of 3 seats,it's always more comfortable to sit in the window and aisle seats as you did,but then to lift up the arm rests between those and the middle seat. It just gives you a more spacious feel.

PIA crew gives u an atmosphere in the cabin that u feel u r alreay home. A unique experience i felt. There is balance between being too professional and being professional while helping guests. I guess PIA follow the later one. On down side. Sometimes if catering vendor is suddenly changed or some senior Govt. officer try to interfere too much, food wouldn't be so good. Another downside is seats cushioning, that PIA should do something about. But pros are way more than cons.

Thanks for reviewing PIA Josh. Please note that only 12 months ago this airline was close to bankruptcy with losses topping $3 billion. The new government placed an Air Force Air Marshal to set things right. Funds have now also been released for installation of new entertainment systems and the food service is being revamped which you experienced. It's sad what years of neglect did to one of the world's best airlines but things are finally moving in the positive direction.
The same as Indian airlines, before they joined the star alliance.

My family is from Pakistan, and I’ve heard a lot of negative reviews and news about PIA (online and from family members). I’ve only had one experience on board PIA, from Multan (MUX) to Karachi (KHI) on board one of their A320s sometime back in 2018 (reg: AP-BLD). Overall, it was a decent, maybe more than decent flight experience, crew was pretty friendly, my seat mates were nice, one of them being an Air Force pilot for the Pakistani military. Cabin service was good, and despite it being a short flight, a meal was still served, though it was a cold sandwich. Still pretty good. Unfortunately the aircraft I flew on, AP-BLD was involved in a fatal crash back in May of 2020, just after PIA resumed domestic flights after the start of the COVID pandemic.

PIA was the one which helped many middle eastern countries to establish their airline services.
PIA came to down due to corruption & money laundering cases. But after this new government it has got new wings to carry on with its purposes
This new government is mess now. They became more corrupt. They destroyed the economy.
Wow! I am from southern India and I don’t think I would ever get to fly on PIA but such a lovely crew they have. Zafar in particular is a beautiful person. Great watch overall ❤️
