We just got done baking these… Important note: We did them in 2 batches and the second batch that we let cook for 25 min (5 min longer than the first), came out of the silicone molds intact and MUCH cleaner (both rested for 30 min). How well cooked they are made a big difference! They tasted absolutely delish - definitely keeping this recipe. :-)
Your issues pouring the batter into the donut pan brings back memories. I am also too lazy to pipe the mix to get a perfect donut with the hole. After my first screw-up, I started over-filling the pan on purpose. My mother liked filled donuts, but that is too much trouble. Fill the pan enough to slightly cover the center piece for the hole. When baked, the hole is sealed. Remove it from the pan, flip the donut, then fill the 'hole' with something tasty (maybe peanutbutter), then frost the top. You could also use a zero sugar jam or Greek yogurt as filling. Thank you both for all the great content.
I make these as plain vanilla out of a cottage cheese mug cake recipe then when they are still hot give them a spray of olive oil and dust them with cinnamon and sweetener and they come out just like a hot cinnamon donut. So good if I have been out to the shops and passed one of those hot cinnamon donut kiosks and caught a craving lol! I cut down a silicone mold from six to two so I can portion control too! Great video as always girls, and just remember if it doesn't look perfect, it's 'rustic' and either way it tastes the same!♥♥♥
With anything chocolate add espresso powder or instant coffee & every baked good needs a pinch of salt. Don't worry abt cottage cheese making it salty. Salt opens the taste buds to sweets. Cooking with Dave makes a good cottage cheese donut you could try. It's like a cake donut with cinnamon &nutmeg. I made them & it's pretty good. Sprayed the pan & they fell out easy. TY so much for the new recipes! Love watching you guys!❤
I love a cake donut!! So excited to try these! Also there is an awesome keto powdered flavoring called Chocolate Donut from Flavor God. Bet that will take these up a notch for sure.
Emily, I'm loving your top today! Is it a sweater? I'd love to know where you bought it. The donuts look yummy, too. Have to try them. Wondering if you could make them pumpkin!
Hi! Thank you! I got it from the thrift store actually, if you search “Anthropologie one September open cardigan” on eBay or on Google you’ll find many of them pretty cheap online!
People in the UK refer to almond flour as almond meal. As did my Scottish mom. It’s a beggar pouring batter in a donut pan!! Piping bags work, but I’m always too lazy to use em. For icing sugar you can use regular Swerve and blitz in the blender to make it. I use to blitz regular white sugar pre-diabetic days to make icing sugar if I had none on hand. I made your red velvet cake for my husband’s birthday. Everyone loved it. Been searching for a recipe for a good vanilla donut, haven’t found one I like yet. Saw a keto vanilla donut recipe where donut was fried. Never tried it. I very rarely fry anything.
I had a recipe for traditional cake donuts without cocoa. It's for the dry mix and then you make them up as you want. It tastes just like Dunkin Stix snack cakes! I'd like to figure out a low carb version of that. I think the secret of them tasting like the snack cakes was the addition of a small amount of nutmeg and cinnamon. It's the texture I'm wondering about. They are already dense. I'm afraid almond flour would make them a choking hazard 😂
Please brush a little butter into that pan before adding the batter. That silicone coating may work without it now, but I’d be willing to bet it won’t last long if you don’t lubricate it. (Also, never soak that pan in the sink, which will almost certainly cause it to rust very quickly (ask me how I know!). Thanks for another of what always turns out to be a fun video. Glad it succeeded this time around. Sounds good; I may just give it a try. 👍
I love that nail polish color.. I know it's a cooking channel! Focus.. Sara asked if I'm going to be spraying the pan..I AM NOT!(she paused and immediately questioned) 😂😂😂😂 I love these two ladies. The best, relatable channel. Donuts look great
KT's - For a perfect sweetener - 1 Cup of RX Sugar (Allulose) + 1 Teaspoon of Monk Fruit Extract - mix and then use like one cup of regular table sugar - Yummy! : )
I love cake donuts, my favorite was actually plain blueberry, without the icing. I'll have to try these for sure, but I think I will spread a little cream cheese instead of the icing, or just leave them plain. I'm excited to find a keto way to get my chocolate fix!
Update - the batter cooked really well in my mini waffle maker, it took about 5 mins per waffle. Pancakes didn't really work though, it was too crumbly to get out of the pan in one piece.
Hi girls. Very interesting recipe! They look really tasty! Do you feel that they come out of the pans without putting cooking spray on them? Thanks for another great video!❤
"Wow! High-protein and keto-friendly chocolate donuts? This is a game-changer! I love how you used cottage cheese to keep them moist and packed with protein-genius! 🙌 Have you ever tried experimenting with different sweeteners like monk fruit or allulose to change up the texture or sweetness? I find they give a slightly different flavor profile. Definitely going to try this recipe this weekend! Thanks for sharing this, and shoutout to Keto by D for the amazing inspiration! 😍 Anyone else tried baking keto donuts? Would love to hear your tips!"
A piping bag is better for dounts easier to dispense and always spray the pan no matter if it’s nonstick, you won’t ruin your pants trying to take them out

Put your batter in a large baggie, cut the corner tip and squeeze the batter out. Simple and more controlled. 😊
Or pastry bags 😊
I bought a set of condiment bottles from Dollar Tree to use to fill my mini Dash waffle maker. Would also work to fill donut pans as well.
@@lynnedavenport3298 That is a simple and brilliant idea. Thank you!
Great tip!
Great idea, thank you.
Was coming to say this.
😮 I have those! Thanks for the tip.
Wonder if you could add sour cream for make a heavier/denser “sour cream donut” 🤔🤔😋
I have never been able to get my doughnuts out, so I put them in muffin paper in muffin pan.
I had issues with my first pan. Replaced it with silicone ones. Grease with lard. Slip out.

I have silicone molds as well. Appreciate you feedback!
Could I ask if you sprayed the mold to help remove them from tray?
@@christine3277 I didn't spray the molds... the silicone made it pretty easy to come out. :)

How much instant coffee?
@vdublady I use 1 teaspoon and put in in the liquid ingredients to dissolve. For a large 13×9 brownie recipe 2 tsp.
I love a cake donut!! So excited to try these! Also there is an awesome keto powdered flavoring called Chocolate Donut from Flavor God. Bet that will take these up a notch for sure.
Ooo! I’ll have to look that up!
That's a strange one. The main ingredient is....sugar! Yet, one serving has zero calories? As my Korean friend Yum Kim would say:
How dis possibru?
Dont be tricked by Flavor Gods zero calorie claim a serving size is 1/4 teaspoon not tablespoon but teaspoon
Next time add butter to your frosting for better taste
How much butter would you add?
A pastry bag would have been easier.

I love you guys, you crack me up 😂. I want to see Sarah do the cooking and Emily be behind the camera.
Best to use silicone, I got rid of the metal pans. Irs more of a cake in shape of donut imo.
Love the silicone. 100 agree!
Drop cakes, are made with a machine. It looks very similar to the batter/dough you made. Looks yummy. Thank you.
Been waiting hope allulose works thanks a million
You could try putting the batter in a bagging cut one tip & then squeeze it into the donut pan, it might give you better control.
Those donuts look yummy! Do you have a recipe for glazed donuts?
I had a recipe for traditional cake donuts without cocoa. It's for the dry mix and then you make them up as you want.

I use the dash donut maker
That’s one dash gadget we don’t have (yet) lol
I have the donut pan but I really want to try it in the dash donut maker. thanks for sharing
I'm more of a yeast raised, fluffy doughnut over cake/old fashioned any day. But a nice cake recipe is always good!
Thank you for sharing this recipe ❤
That’s just the recipe to use in my cast-iron cornbread mold. 👍

Yeast doughnuts are the best in my "humble" opinion, but I will try these. :) LOL! Thanks ladies!

Can i use lupin flour instead of almond flour like you have in other recipes?
I’m not sure 😅
Victoria's keto kitchen keto flour 20 would probably work very well with this recipe
I make cake because i like to dip mine in my coffee,I will try this recipe but my cake doughnuts i cut out usually
Great job ladies!😋👍 Thank God for cottage cheese!😁 Have a blessed week 💜 🙏 ✌️ 🎶 🌞 🍁 🎃🍃
I think I would put a little bit espresso powder in it just to make it a little bit more end up chocolate flavor
Are there other flours y’all like to use? I’m allergic to almonds so I need an almond alternative 😊
Lupin or coconut but they all need specific instructions to adapt to a recipe :)

Sure! I’d look up a keto sweetener conversion chart to see how much you should use

Oh, one more thing: Ricotta > Cottage Cheese
Texture wise, probably, but the protein is much higher in the cittage cheese
Almond meal is actually a thicker version of almond flour
😋 yummy
Yummy. ❤❤
100% agree that cake donuts beat krispy cream air.
Mmmmmm! Cake😉
Noooo
Almond meal and almond flour are 2 different things. Almond meal is coarse.
Well it worked fine lol
Put the batter in a ziplock bag and squeeze it into the mold. ❤️
Use a chopstick for the glaze dipping
Where can I find the recipe?

Almond flour and almond meal are not the same thing (Canada here). Almond flour is much finer.

I did not let it rest, I still wonder about the texture and if it was like cake, or like a pancake?
