Necromancer was great during Beta testing until people complained and the developers nerfed the crap out of it. At level 63, I completed the capstone for Torment w/o fire resistance. Fortify and Barrier generator kept my Necromancer alive. Let's hope for a Necromancer buff times 10!
I can assure you bone spear doesnt need a buff. Mid 70 bone spear necro friend of.mine was deleting world bosses in 10 sec or less. An clears t70s with basically no dmg reduction in the mid 80s. Sure their mobility sucks but druid without trample/permawolf is even worse and does worse.dmg with better gear.
While I think your proposal of being a minion manager works, I also think a plausible way they could help minion builds (and even diversify them) with the necromancer without making it a passive play style is actually tweaking or adding skills/ paragon nodes that have the minions buff YOU, and not the other way around. For instance, you could have a node that grants you damage reduction based on each minion you have; or makes the necromancer and their minions faster per minion in play (also patches their speed problem). They could also build greater synergies that encourage hybrid builds, such as having minions dropping a health orb on death or percent chance to drop a corpse on death. So many ways to make minions valuable without them doing all of the work.
My biggest issue is gear progression. My druid hit 100 yesterday . Not all of my gear but significant portion of it I found around level 80. I'm going to push nightmare sigil and work on Lilith this weekend. But rhe reality is. At level 100 the odds of me replacing any of my gear seems slim. Just wish the progression with gear was different
You summed it up perfectly , think exactly the same. I just hope that the devs develop the game in the right direction with future updates & seasons.....I mean it's a solid base game (even more solid than POE at release) but they def. need to adress your mentioned issues to be engaging in long term. :)
Low mob density, horrible itemisation system, ATROCIOUS stash system and boring build "customization" is what killed the game for me after around 100 hours now. The gameplay loops are incredibly weak and I fear the game needs sweeping changes across the board to make it a true contender. Let's see how blizzard handles it down the line, maybe they feel some pressure already with the recent review bombing to accelerate some of the developments before season 2 or 3.
Path of Exile exists and a lot of the UI issues with stash tab space GGG figured out (and monetised) years ago. Frankly I think D4 is just a cash grab playing on the previous games fan favouritism and have zero interest in paying full price for what will probably end up being a free to play experience in a few years.
I'm with you on stash space, I'm level 73 with one character and my stash is literally completely full. I'll be super sad if we see stash tabs sold in the shop, cosmetics are fine but please no "create the problem, sell the solution" nonsense
90 almost 91. Coulda filled up 2 rows in my stash with barb items and repeats of earth bear shit/useless companion pants. Only item i want is tempest so i can play something besides pulv/trample. Crone staff build is ok but falls off in the tiers pretty hard. Shred looks hardly any better tbh, lvl 100 decked out shredders doing less dmg than mid 70 bone spear necros is a joke
In the vein of therapeutic venting, here goes. I'm also struggling with this game. The end game loops are just... boring. Character development is just... boring. The skills look and sound great but the layering and connections between those skills, legendary affixes, and the paragon board are too simple. Gain more levels/paragon to have better stat numbers, shrug.... Get maxed out legendary affixes to have... better numbers? Ehhhh.... ok. Run higher tier nm dungeons, that look exactly like normal dungeons, with extra effects that slow everything down, that don't reward anything better than normal dungeons besides glyph levels that in turn give you... better numbers? Ehhhhh........ I'm only level 72 and I get the sinking feeling that everything about this game is going to feel and look the same when I'm at level 82, 92, 100, and nothing in that journey to those levels is really going to feel that stimulating or engaging. Hovering over inventory and inventory and inventory of ancestral rare items, looking for a specific combination of affixes, which will augment/improve my build by giving it, better numbers.... I am absolutely impressed with the visual and audio design of the game and I wanted that foundation to support robust and engaging classes, skills, and endgame systems. I guess I'll see what season 1 introduces but honestly I don't have high hopes. At this point I struggle making it past the launcher app in terms of progression....
Stash space anoys me the most at the moment. I run several characters. 3 of em in endgame. And it is impossible to stash the good stuff for all of em. Really anoying.
Completely agree with almost the entire video except for tying drops to specific events that are only available at specific times. I do not enjoy helltides for the sole reason that I cannot do them when I feel like it and can only complete them when the game says I can. Same with world bosses. However, I skip world bosses 100% because I do not need them. I am forced to do helltides though because you cannot be a level 100 player pushing NM and Lillith without forgotten souls. I agree that helltides and world bosses should be rewarding for your time, but neither of them should have exclusive drops.
For endgame, I don’t want wt5+ and increase item power level since it’s way too repepetitice and it doesn’t nothing for the endgame beyond few days after it’s out. Instead I’d like certain endgame contents to have rotating resistance/mod to different affixes so people don’t use the same affixes over and over again. Make them rotate weekly. Then have things like raids and raid leaderboards as well as arenas and clan vs clan pvp so peoooe have the incentive to farm for different affixes and use them for competitive reasons
I don't think world bosses should drop crafting mats you can only get from them exclusively. What happens if I only get to play during hours where I happen to miss out on world boss spawns? The answer can't be tough shit, because that's the equivalent of punishing players for not being able to play on bilizzards calendar, which is an absurd idea if you think about it. They spawn every 6-8 hours so its likely the case that I could miss these because life. They can make them more rewarding to do for sure, but making them mandatory for crafting mats, I'm not down for that.
The stash space levels are embarrassing. I can't imagine how anybody would think that 4 small stash tabs would be enough when they are shared between characters. You can't realistically have more than one high level character if you are even a mild hoarder. There is nothing fun about having to scrap or sell gear just to experience another class. This is so obvious that it leads me to believe that it's on purpose so they can monetize it later. Nothing else makes sense.
they can make rogue holding its weapon backwards more sinister look and atleast have some pose on the party selection rather than standing like taking a graduation picture,
I disagree a little on the obols and events, obols alone lets you semi target farm legendaries with aspects u want. resources is easiest since it can only be on rings, and defensive since pants can only roll def. per 1k obols u get at least few legos, and well events in helltide is best of both worlds tbh, more "placed" amber farming connected with obols for the mentioned legendaries. also you can use those farmed obols on any char, one of very limited ways of helping your alts since items are complete joke, dropped great necromancer pants (general unique, not necro limited, just good on it) but ofc it got min lvl 82, since i dropped it on sorc 82.
minions could be better if the attacked like charge zelots in starcraft 2 they need to close onto enemies harder.. as well as druid pets and they should spawn around you to protect you... or make gear to do those things
Hey Pal, coulda mentioned how some aspects and unique's refuse to drop :P Currently level 78, and so far I have found 2 Umbral aspects, one with 1 and one with 4. I used the 4 obv on my ring, now I can't upgrade that ring till I find it again, cos to me anything lower than 4 is useless :P
Of course you are not an outlier. I basically quit the game till they fix these 2 major things: stash space and party item sharing limits. I hate account bound legendaries and uniques even in same party. And I totally agree with the rest of your topics.
If Blizzard is selling stash tabs, I'm gonna buy them and cry myself to sleep after. It would be a dick move, but Blizzard knows they can get away with murder
One redeem quality is the slowed down and lower pack density for d4 , if you want mob explosion play d3 . Game is already a big copy paste of d3 , dont make it a full one .
Stash Tabs is just a temporal problem i fear. They will be in the shop soon. Sad enough for a 65 bucks game. But it gives me bad diablo immortal wibes that they punisch us over a month with no option to buy them just because they want to rise the demand before putting them in the shop. The new blizzard ist just sad ... for me, the game is unplayable with just four stash tabs, i love to try out other builds and twink.
You need to find the mysterious chests for 175. Every other chest isn't worth your time. You get 3-5 on avg per chest. There's a helltide map online for those locations since they don't appear on the map till you get close.
I dont disagree with stash space but you did not mention you can and should remove those perfect rolls and save them on aspect stash to save item stash space!
Dont agree that much on minions, single target is really good, destroying butcher and nightmare dungeon bosses in seconds. With Ring of mendeln, even clear is not that bad, and its still a really safe build and minions dont die at all. its more about their AI and targeting, suppressor mod is a problem, if you go skele mages. Maybe they could give them some command skill, if you target an enemy, they wouldnt summon new skeleton, but use same button for targeting. Or some passive node, aspect or anything to follow your core skill attack.
I play a minion build necro in this game, but I am usually a healer in most other mmo's I play. I prefer the more stand back approach and wouldn't like it as much if I were forced to be more active in the fight. Throw out a curse and let the minions do most of the work, and heal/revive them. I use blood surge for if things get too close to me and the Iron Golem for the bigger enemies. I agree, I am a bit slow running compared to friends I play with, and it's worse because I have to take more time to consume corpses after a fight while my friends are already running ahead. I like that even when no friends are on I'm still not alone. (Healer Mentality I guess). It would be nice if there were a taunt feature on the Golem no matter what type you choose though. I feel like this build was made for people like me.
One thing to note is remember this game is on consoles and Cross platform. They will be limited about how much mob density they can use which is painful. I'm also worried about resistances, theres already a premium on affix slots on your gear. Only thing I really dis agree with here are minions the skeleton mages are insane when spec right and I've seen guys have each of those minions crit huge damage numbers May be they take to long to come online and it's Defunately annoying to have to waste skill slots on it. Both this and ultimate should have it's own slot imo
the horse is like entirely pointless because waypoints exist anyways horses shouldnt even be in the game, Its to sell you cosmetics for your horse and other mounts for real money 100% they make tons of money on wow from mount sales, thats 1000000% why the mounts are in the game at all.
lol, no, just no xD there is some true shit and im also fucked up by getting stuck on every second corner, but saying its ONLY for the money is not true. u ever played realy wow? u realy wanna do all the travel without mounts? the diablo mount isnt "useless" too. its very good between earning and 70 or so. when u travel around do your lilith altars and dont want the massive aggro range that u have without mount. its an openworld and even if u can travel quick with waypoints, its still a little qol in some aspects. dont get me wrong, im not happy with the mount in the current state, but just saying its ONLY for the money is not very smart. especially when u try to put wow mounts in the same pocket ^^ and now let the thumbs down rain, cause i had an opinion... EDIT: first mount to buy in shop was 2010. the game is from 2004.
@@tenesto I was talking about diablo 4, Obviously the mount in world of warcraft is super useful at least in vanilla tbc and wotlk, its a little less useful in more modern expansions since the areas are fairly small and farming open world mats isnt nearly as big a thing as it is in say TBC classic or vanilla, and yes i've played literally every wow expansion and most recently played all the classic expansions as well. Obviously they are needed in dragonflight due to the verticality baked into the expansion, mounts being one of the key features of the expansion itself. In d4 the mount is basically useless and im saying the REASON they shoved it in there is because they learned from wow that selling mount cosmetics can make a lot of money. I've done all 5 renown grinds so I know the mount makes getting the altars and sidequests and stuff easier, but I'd argue it is actually not even good for the game it just lets you skip past 95% of all the enemies to go right to the altars, so why have me even go around picking up boring ass altars if I dont even have to fight enemies on the way its like the very worst type of busy-work sidequest where theres NO gameplay just riding a horse from altar to altar. But I think the very idea of just putting tons of random altars to collect is a boring shitty idea, there should be like 5 altars per zone and they should be in areas with tons of hard enemies so you have to fight your way to them. maybe even a hard enough gauntlet where you might have to group up with a few other players. Of course they should give much better rewards in that case. The world is tiny by open world mmo standards and with the waypoints you can legit get to any part of the map within a few minutes on foot the mount is superfluous and the implementation is horrendous as well, as palsteron points out if your character has like 40%+ movespeed it makes you not even want to ride the mount because the implementation is so annoying bad.
Man your house must be stuffed with much horeding lmao. If your going to make a new build just play the story again and you'll find those same items again.. well I have. Guess I'm lucky
I am so tired of games intentionally not releasing as a finished product. Getting new content in seasons and inventing new game features later on is fine, but there are so many bare minimum things missing that already exist in other games. Search functionality for inventory and stash tabs has been around for years (PoE and even WoW has it). No game like this should ever release without search functionality. Where are our set items? Only 4 stash tabs? Terrible mount (they already have a good system in WoW), lack of player lobbies (hello D2/D2R), no interesting crafting (PoE), no resource flask, awful mob density, very low damage scaling from lowest to highest level of a skill, way too much reliance on waiting for cooldowns to come back up, lack of AH or cool trading system, most bosses are not memorable, clan features are underwhelming, etc. I will say that I think they did a great job with the campaign. I was least excited for that part prior to playing and it ended up being by far the best part of the game for me.
I think I mostly agree with all points except with the stash issue, I would argue that you are an hoarder and it won't matter how much more storage that Blizz provides, you stashes will always be full with people like you wanting more and more and more. Currently we have more stash slots than we ever did back in D2 and even more than D3 had at launch, and we can then have mules to carry some stuff. If you are full with the state of the game as it is now, then you would also be full if we had 4-5 more stashes, because you are storing everything in case you might need it later. If you want to try more than one build, you should create more than one character, Blizzard does not want people to have just one class that can constantly change build, they want a kinda hybrid experience from D3 and D2 (where to have a different build you would start a new char). That said, I do wish that one of the stash was a character only inventory and the other tabs were account shared, because most of the things that I do want to share are gems and consumables and maybe some pieces of gear that I think can be used by other classes, but I would also want to have a stash just for the current character I am playing, so that I can store some of the loot that I think I might need later.
@@Palsteron You are good in PoE because you have been playing the game for X time and you know that in order to have more stash space you will need to spend real money, which automatically forces you into being wiser in how to handle inventory space, by knowing which items you need to keep, while in D4 it just cost ingame currency. Also, in D4 you have a character inventory space just for consumables and another just for aspects (and another for quest items, but that one is almost always useless so not counting it) which means you can store up to 99 different items on your character inventory space alone, which is something that you cannot do in PoE where the max you can hold is 60 and that is ignoring the fact that majority of equipment is bigger than 1x1, so by just that alone D4 has almost 40 more item slots in inventory than PoE. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for you to have your stash inventory completly full at this point in the game with items for just 1 character in case you want to change your build. Even if Blizz decides to revamp your class and make the meta build something different you would not use even 1/3rd the items you have on just 1 storage tab, so the vast majority of things that you are storing you will never use them, so you are hoarding. If Blizz gave you 5 more stash tabs you would fill them up as well and then complain it's not enough, because you have not learned how to do proper inventory management in this game.
Welcome to builds and gearing in diablo 4. Grind dungeons and helltides until you get the correct 4 stat rare items and slap a legendary aspect on it. Now rinse and repeat this process for as long as your sanity can hold up as you move up in difficulty and nm dungeon levels.
I think there’s enough monsters, I just don’t think players like yourself are used to playing a Diablo style game, which is more about fun, creative combat rather than zoom zoom one button everything dies combat. Tree of whispers cycles give 40% of a level, they are very powerful and give resources. They are better than people realize at .8 levels an hour. More end game content will come with seasons. Would love more pinnacle content. Agree that the stat buckets need a rework. I think damage to and damage while should be their own bucket, dots should be their own, etc… Resistances certainly need a rework. Season 2 will be around October so 4 months roughly. The resistances that are baseline on amulets and rings are just fine, and on roll to cover whatever resistance is not on your rings. But afterward stacking it is terrible as 40% res roll only provides 8% resistance. MORE STASH!!! I would create a tab for each character specific that is not shared. I would love unique tabs like a sigil tab, consumable tab for elixers etc… in the stash. Not guarantee they will sell regular stash tabs, I heard we may be earning them in the season journey. I love the horse! Better for Necro and those with lower MS for sure. I feel if they rework the damage buckets properly, one fix for minion damage consistency would be to have summon minion damage as a multiplier as well as the specific minion damage rolls. Other than that, they need to just rework the speed of the minions so they move faster. The skeletons should always be with or ahead of you while the mages stay just a little behind. I have yet to see a game that releases with minions in a good state at launch. Hopefully they address some of these issues for sure!!!
@@davidgreenberg8456 You can actually plan and position based on stuns, lightning auras, etc... In games people like Pal play, it is just run and one shot everything. So yes, I find combat in D4 more enjoyable because fights against bosses and elites are just a zerg 1 click zoom zoom style. It is a nice change of pace.
Everyone thinking they are a designer nowadays.. Point 5 and 6 i think you just got it wrong. The mount NOT using movement speed is a good thing, movement speed isnt a critical stat because of it. This whole speed balance thing is also silly, is fine to be slower. Being fast really isnt so mandatory and has a tiny impact on how fast you run high level dungeons really.
movement speed is a "feel good" stat, that makes you feel like your character is less clunky and it is definitely not fine for necro to have no way to be faster, when I can have two dashes on my rogue, evade CD reduce boots with stupid attack speed that allows me to evade on demand
@@etkne why not. Giving movespeed to everyone is just taking away the class feel. It's fine as is. Movespeed is incredibly overrated and if the game was less Dungeon focused the mount would even reduce the difference in open world. 90% of these suggestion videos and comments are just crappy suggestions that moan about problems that don't exist for the large majority of the playerbase.
The mount does not need to use movement speed, but it should be noticeably faster than not using a mount and not be so damn clunky. It feels terrible to be slow, especially with such low mob density. Having a mostly useless mount just makes the open world even less enjoyable.
not an outlier. the stash f'in blows.
Thank you for the chapter markers. First time visiting, easy sub!

The stash issue is completely ridiculous to me. It's insane how little stash space we have in a game basically built for you to hoard items.
poe2 will solve the D4 issues
While I think your proposal of being a minion manager works, I also think a plausible way they could help minion builds (and even diversify them) with the necromancer without making it a passive play style is actually tweaking or adding skills/ paragon nodes that have the minions buff YOU, and not the other way around.

Both this and ultimate should have it's own slot imo
there is an option to disable cross platform
the horse is like entirely pointless because waypoints exist anyways horses shouldnt even be in the game, Its to sell you cosmetics for your horse and other mounts for real money 100% they make tons of money on wow from mount sales, thats 1000000% why the mounts are in the game at all.
lol, no, just no xD there is some true shit and im also fucked up by getting stuck on every second corner, but saying its ONLY for the money is not true. u ever played realy wow? u realy wanna do all the travel without mounts? the diablo mount isnt "useless" too. its very good between earning and 70 or so. when u travel around do your lilith altars and dont want the massive aggro range that u have without mount. its an openworld and even if u can travel quick with waypoints, its still a little qol in some aspects.
dont get me wrong, im not happy with the mount in the current state, but just saying its ONLY for the money is not very smart. especially when u try to put wow mounts in the same pocket ^^
and now let the thumbs down rain, cause i had an opinion...
??? why you want change tetris into and arpg like poe?
My. Minion shadow cold build is just fine not as slow when you get later gear with more speed on it
I am so tired of games intentionally not releasing as a finished product.
Pal will delete this comment kekw. Also algorithm
golden goblin already has a guarenteed legendary
I'm good in poe though, so your theory doesn't hold up! :P
@@Palsteron
You are good in PoE because you have been playing the game for X time and you know that in order to have more stash space you will need to spend real money, which automatically forces you into being wiser in how to handle inventory space, by knowing which items you need to keep, while in D4 it just cost ingame currency.
The biggest problem with D4 is content creators hyping "builds" when the really mean "get these exact rare legendaries"
I think damage to and damage while should be their own bucket, dots should be their own, etc…
Resistances certainly need a rework.
Do you find the combat to be fun and creative? Most of the mobs play almost identically.
Don't forget: waminism.
Everyone thinking they are a designer nowadays..
Point 5 and 6 i think you just got it wrong. The mount NOT using movement speed is a good thing, movement speed isnt a critical stat because of it. This whole speed balance thing is also silly, is fine to be slower. Being fast really isnt so mandatory and has a tiny impact on how fast you run high level dungeons really.
movement speed is a "feel good" stat, that makes you feel like your character is less clunky
and it is definitely not fine for necro to have no way to be faster, when I can have two dashes on my rogue, evade CD reduce boots with stupid attack speed that allows me to evade on demand
you have no clue what you're talking about.
