- British author Mark Lewisohn, recognized as the world's top Beatles expert and biographer, made an under-the-radar trip to Los Angeles in April 2016.
Lewisohn's mission: further research on the much-anticipated second and third volumes of his epic Beatles bio "All These Years," following 2013's initial volume, "Tune In," published by Crown in the U.S. in October 2013 and a New York Times best-seller.
Buried deep in archival research for a couple of weeks, Lewisohn did surface long enough to chat with Stephen K. Peeples, a "Lost Lennon Tapes" radio series colleague in 1988-1990 and longtime friend.
(Lewisohn's only other interview while in L.A. was with Conan O'Brien, a huge Beatles fan, for Coco's internet show.)
Peeples' interview, conducted at a top-secret location and lasting nearly an hour, is the most recent update Lewisohn has given the public and the media on his progress researching Vols. 1 and 2.

Note: At very beginning, about :10 of audio is missing. Peeples asked Lewisohn how old he was when he became aware of The Beatles, and Lewisohn said he was 5. The rest of the interview audio is OK.

Lewisohn is a saint for this research!! I bought and read the american standard release twice... then went bat crazy trying to find this extended british release... finally got it... and just got done reading it cover to cover!!! Awesomeeeee!! met him at A beatles convention in Chicago!! Signed the american book... great guy!

I became aware of Mark Lewisohn back in 1990 when I discovered his recording session book in the bargain bin of Angus and Robertsons in Australia. I bought two.
