I didn't mind a bank palace, since it was perfect for the phantom thieves' line of work: heists. The music was also decent and the palace didn't really drag on at all until the pass code section. More victory themes (like for bosses, mementos, etc.) would be nice, but the one we got still didn't get old to me. I enjoyed the skit with it in the video, though.
As one of those like 5 females that watch this, I just use a gamer tag. For instance, my character in Persona 5 is Narga Ryuuji (I had no idea the other character was named Ryuji, for the record). I use "Narga" from Monster Hunter (Nargacuga). It's how I get around the male character naming thing.

Actually you can change the victory theme. By equipping costumes from previous games, which also changes the battle theme. Bit shitty it's hidden behind the DLC though.
Coming in late as fuck but I have a pretty crucial tip to give. Don't level up confidants like fire emblem, focus on 1 or 2 at a time and focus on maxing them out then move on to others. If you try and equally level up each and every one of your confidants then most of them won't be maxed by the end.
At the start of the year, you should sit down for 1-2 months and write a years worth of reviews. Looking forward to Ep. 3. You should do Back to the Future.
This negotiation system is a godsent compared to the mainline shin megami tensei games, where demon negotiation is COMPLETELY FUCKING RANDOM! There is no strategy demons will respond however they damn well please with zero consistency. Believe me when I say this, this games system IS an overhaul.
Funny thing about the male-only protagonist, it seems to be a running theme for the Persona series to make the main character's official name gender-neutral; Minato/Makoto for Persona 3, Yu for Persona 4, and Akira for Persona 5. Also, the PSP remake of Persona 3 lets you choose a female protagonist.
I wish they took your ice palace idea and mixed it with the bank idea to mix in the theme of money making society colded and more distant and apathetic.
If they made more mini games then the game would have taken another year of development which would have sucked, considering the development time this game went through.
I think the real question is not the quality of the game, or how it compares, but who is best girl. That is always the question with these kinds of games
If I had to guess I'd say you played this game on normal. If you wanted a good difficulty curve you shoulda gone on hard, this has always been the case for Persona games (which are like SMT-lite. Don't play a mainline SMT game on hard unless you have a death wish).
The way to succeed in negotiation is to try to reflect the demons personality back at them. "I want to go home" Their Gloomy. You answer "No", that's the most negative gloomy answer on the list. Not sure where you got this 'be vague stuff from. Also the reason for Joker's death causing a game over is explained in the story, but I won't spoil these things here.

I think you nitpick this a little way too hard to stretch the length of your video. Some of your gripes seemed quite petty to me, but one stood out the most to me, so I'll explain. You take issue with the 'Protagonist death = Gameover' aspect of the combat system. It's a gameplay mechanic that stems from the fact that the main character is supposed to be versatile with the option to switch Personas. You have more tools than the rest of the party, so you should definitely be punished harder for failure. If Joker is a bottleneck in your party, it's time to get introspective and figure out what you're doing wrong and fix it. You have access to a massive arsenal of Personas with differing abilities and resistances, so figure out what you need to do to remedy the problem. A little difficulty and thinking never hurt anyone! (That I know of)
What's this a Persona 5 review that doesn't compare the main characters from Persona 4 with the main characters from Persona 4 and instead view them on their own merits? Wow I never thought I'd see the day. Anyway I really did enjoy Persona 5 but yes I agree that whole game over when your main character is dead thing needs to stop. You have no idea how many times when I had a perfectly good strategy only for a boss or random enemy to use an attack that doesn't kill everyone but my main character. It gets pretty damn annoying and yes I know mudo skills exist but still it annoys me and the fact that this has been a thing since Persona 3, they really need to change that for Persona 6 at least. In the end while Persona 5 may have its issues I still love it.

not really, i platinum this game it only took me 3 runs and more than 280 hours, just play normally.
