Hi! Yes, I needed to play with some wiring to make the buttons work. I didn't do it, because it was done last time, before i removed this steering wheel for a new leather wrap
Hi, do you maybe have an idea how to do swap from single to dual stage? My car is '97 and I am seeing a lot of info that the steering wheel you used (and that is the one I want) is the dual stage, but there is no explanation on what is the difference and will it work...
Indeed, one very strange thing is that the 3-spoke non-M non-sport steering wheel (the one at the beginning of the video) is a single-stage airbag, while the M-sport steering wheel (the beautiful one) is dual-stage.. I swapped a 4-spoke steering wheel (the ugly old-school-looking one) with the 3-spoke M-sport and it worked perfectly, because the 4-spoke --although it looks awfully dated-- has a two-stage airbag 😅 I'm afraid that in the case of this video, airbag didn't work anymore... which is a bit risky if you ask me.
Does anyone have a part number for the male end of the 2 695 146 1 connector cable? I want to move the cruise control buttons to the dash or centre console because I've installed my Sparco steering wheel onto my E39. I want to make it reversable, so I don't want to cut off the original connector in the collum, but to be able to do that I need the male end of that connector. (BMW 6 377 236 or AMP 968813-2B)
Hi you said to subscribe to know how to wrapping a steering wheel and make it new again with its plastic cover. The paint you use and all the step by step. I want to trust you as well because I just have subscribed your channel. It is really interesting cause I'm gonna do the same to my MFL Steering wheel that I bought early. See you on youtube myfriend. 🙂
Hey just did same upgrade and i got airbag light that won’t go away, i tried clearing the code but it keeps coming back i had the same old wheel but with buttons
Did you properly connect all the conectors? Check if the wires are intact. If everything is good then airbag light should go away if you clear the codes. The airbag light doesnt even come up if you don't connect the battery while the airbag is disconnected
How did you get the buttons to work
Hey. Didnt you need to retrofit/code the buttons to work? Because on your old wheel you had no multifunction buttons. ?
Thanks

I am the only one who hears Borat’s voice. It’s kinda funny when Borat learns you how to do something. 😃 but thanks for the video!
