What I really appreciate about your organizing videos is that you show every step of your process. Some organizational videos only show the before and after, but not the in between process. That's why I really enjoy watching your videos. The linen closet looks great! This is also how I organize. Think of what I actually need and keep the bare necessities. It feels good to open a closet and only see the things you actually use.
I really appreciate the step by step process of organizing your linen closet. You always get me so motivated to do some of the things you do. During the summer months while I'm off work, I need to keep a schedule and you help me do that. Especially with making lists. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. I hope you and your family are well.
My husband and myself keep our extra sheet sets in our room with our bed. Our daughter's extra sheet sets with her bed. We also roll our towels (2 each) they all fit on one shelf. I'll try to send you a picture tomorrow.
Nice! I've got mostly white hotel quality towels so I can bleach them every now and then. My Linen closet has a toaster oven stored in it, among other oddities. I really need to get to work on it. Thanks for the motivation and ideas.
My grandmother used something called "bluing" to whiten whites - even though the stuff was almost a cobalt blue. I don't know if it's still around, but it sure worked! Her other tip was for getting out mustard: scissors. It's the only way. Lol! I did a linen closet purge (need to do it again) recently and donated a ton of towels to the animal shelter, too. Great job - you always make it look so easy!
Awesome job and I love the way you fold the sheets together. I haven't seen that before so I am going to give that a try at my house. Thanks for another great video!
Here in Ireland we have what we call a hot press. The hot water tank is in there and then there's two huge v deep shelves for towels and sheets. Mine is so disorganised despite only having two towels each!
I inherited my mom's love of linens...I can't pass up a pretty towel or sheet set, not to mention blankets and throws! She gave me a ton of stuff from the "family home" linen closet when it sold. Some of the linens still have the smell of my childhood and I just can't part with them. The dog now uses one of my baby towels. I find the quality of towels back in those days to be much better than they are now. Where do you keep the blankets and duvets?
Hi Sophia, if the whitening of your towels is not up to your standard, perhaps you could dye or have them dyed the colour to match your beautiful Guest Room, also you could keep your Guest Linen in the lovely chest of drawers in your Guest Room, that way you will have more storage in your Linen Closet. Great Vlog. Really enjoyed!!
Great Video as always, I think everyone probably has too many sheets and towels. Unless you not doing your laundry for several weeks all that is so not necessary.
Very useful job accomplished. Wish we had a linen cupboard, I have a very narrow tall cupboard in the bathroom and one in our ensuite where the towels have to be precisely folded to fit them in!! Sheet bundles (like you did) have to go in respective bedrooms. We inherited linens and believe it or not the older towels are far more absorbent - I'm sure it's to do with not using fabric conditioner on them, apparently it "coats" the towels making them less efficient, or the old ones are better quality!! We have a dog rescue centre close by and they appreciated any towels, sheets, blankets etc - maybe you have something like that close to you, where you could donate any surplus. Have heard vinegar and baking soda (Bicarbonate of Soda in the UK) in your washing machine is meant to work on white sheets to get rid of the "yellowing" - not tried it myself yet....maybe it would work on towels as well. Lorna UK ua-cam.com/video/R-eMmvpQeoQ/v-deo.html
Sophia -- I use something called white brite, there are a few sets of directions - depending one the stain and material... Its not expensive Ive used it to take out a lot of hard stains (like the yellow stains on t shirts) Its terrific as a soak on really tough stains Some places have it locally and it's on amazon prime too... amzn.to/1Oj6yBG Oh and I was going to suggest taking the towels/sheets to a shelter or vet too... I do that when ever I have things like this - they never have enough!
Good job. I keep all towels in the bathrooms and we don't have spare sheets, so I have all our spare toiletries in our linen cupboard (and the few extra blankets/quilts that we have.
Hi girl, I believe you can still purchase what is called... Bluing. Bluing can usually be found in the Laundry section at the store. Check @ Walgreens or Walmart, or other Grocery & Drugstores! * Linen closet project is a good one to tackle ;-)
Hi Sophia, your closet is sure alot better The only thing putting the sheet sets inside a pillow case takes to much time for me so I just add the cases inside the sheets, because frankly no one will make the effort to make it pretty like you . Labeling the shelves, great idea. 😊
Love the video! Looks great. I learned from Fly lady that for every bed you can store extra set of sheets under mattress like those extra guest sheets can go under guest's mattress. Doitonadime has a video how she brighten up her sheets not sure if it works for towels. Worth a try.
Hi Sophia! I'm getting married in a few months and I'll use a lot of your ideas and tips on my new apartment! I just can't wait to do all those things in my own home! Thank you! Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Brazil! Love you! Xo
White towels soak them overnight with sterilizing tablets / liquid , a Friend gave me that tip for my daughter's white frilly socks , it doesn't leave any yellow tinge like bleach , it's awesome plus they are sterilized , pop them in the hot wash and ur done
your linen closet looks familiar lol! I need to do that! I bring the clean towels up, open the door and stuff them where ever they fit! used to be organized..not no more!
The closet makeover looks really good. I will be moving to the Boston area soon. I wish I had your energy for everything I need to do. Lol... My husband is already in MA so I am on my own. Yikes!!! I just keep telling myself "I've got this, I can do it.".
Sophie, it looks like weight watchers works for you, you look great. I am new to your channel and have found it very inspiring because you are always keeping it real, how a home is actually run - chores! How is your job situation?
My Great Challenge Dont you worry Sophia the Lord is going to bring the future to you. Love the sheet idea..I just cleaned out my linen closet aka its an old wicker stand from the 80's (but still getting good use of it) and your right the best thing is to go through them all and keep it down to a minimum..lol, Its so weird I have 4 sons( all grown) and a ex husband, so had a lot to donate and re-purpose( like you said for the dog and other messy jobs around the house) Love all of your videos thanks for sharing. Debbie
You are an amazing person , hardworking smart & talented. Any company would be fortunate to have you in their employ. I wish you the best of luck in the job search. Have you tried a temp agency? My daughter got a job that way & it turned into full time bec the company liked her so much. Gets your foot in the door.
Enjoy your videos so much, definitely an inspiration! Completely off topic but can you tell me what nail polish you are wearing in this video? Looks like a perfect pink to me.
I hate folding towels for some reason, but still prefer to have a lot. Not a big fan of re-using one, except maybe one for hair can be used again. So that amount kept would never work for me!
Hi Sophia. Loved what you did in this video. Your so right we don't need this much stuff. I'm now putting mine on my to do list. We have a product called Napisan in Australia. And it does wonders on whites and colours. Let us know how you go? xxx
hi great job!! I little suggestion if I could 😊 what do you think of rolling your towels instead of folding? it takes less space and looks great. you could also use a vertical shelf divider to avoid them from falling over each other
Are you saying you didn't ask for each towel whether or not it brings you joy? ;) BTW: what would you do without your holding zone? Oops, I mean guest room. One of the most useful rooms over this past year, it appears to me.
You can donate older towels to animal shelters. They are always in need of them. Great idea with the way you pack the sheets. I love that.
Julie Harvey great idea, I did not think about that. Will do
Julie Harvey great idea!!!

Love the Martha Stewart idea for the bed linen.
Thanks for sharing & take care xx 😚
I would love to see a garden update!

Tracy Reinhardt I heard baking soda and vinegar is good for getting dingy sheets white.

your linen closet looks familiar lol! I need to do that! I bring the clean towels up, open the door and stuff them where ever they fit! used to be organized..not no more!
you can also make washcloths out of thinner old towels....
The closet makeover looks really good.

I like your organization videos.Do some more of them.
Looks Good!! I used dollar tree vacuum seal bags for my kids comforters, cause my linen closet is soooo tiny.
Vets offices and Humane Societies often appreciate donations of old towels!
So enjoyed that video Sophia , TFS
