I think its about the exit entry space between the ladder rungs thats smaller than the birds fully extended wing span . Although i dont if crows are quite smart enough to hang on the rung and crawl out. If it works it works !
Did you take photos or do another video of what it looked like at the end of the day? That would have been awesome to see. It’s illegal to trap them or kill them where I am from unfortunately but I dream of this cage every single day
Ong-Art Runghirun The birds just panic and always fly to the high part of the cage. I’m building one of these traps at the moment, have you build one ?

Great trapping! plagued with Jackdaws here in North Wales, My Mother Was a Shanahan and hails from Clogh.
Damn these birds are everywhere. And they are so many.
you must only take them out at night so other crows don't come to realise trap is dangerous..
Very good point! Would you have to do this with Starlings as well?
great job ! thoses traps work great

The holes of the ladder should be about 6 inches x 6 inches.
They will be much easier to shoot in a cage.
Whats the purpose of catching magpies?
To shoot them. They eat the eggs of song birds.
