Strong statement: I'd take any great set of generic tonewood over a lousy set of Brazilian rosewood. Many folks think BRW is the magic bullet to great tone: it is not. This OM-40 guitar has great tone because we were lucky enough to use a great set of Brazilian rosewood. But, unlike men, not all sets of BRW are created equal. So, to say BRW is so generic that it's almost meaningless. Rant over.
In the meanwhile, we hope you enjoy this OM guitar in style 40. While there have been plenty of 00-40H's in Martin's history, there has never been style 40 applied to a OM, or a 14 fret 000 for that matter (that we know of). Here the owner didn't want any plastic on his guitar, hence no pickguard and wood (BRW) bindings and purflings. We love the modern looks, quite unusual for our builds and thus quite refreshing for us.
