What do you think of the Solar P1 2.0's options? With the fingerprint-reader display + sinewave controllers for $100 and Tron lights at $140, how would you spec one out?
Thinking about selling my evercross h5 to a friend to upgrade to this badboy! :)
I would def get the lights in red and get the upgraded controller.
I have been waiting like a year for you to review solar scooters. I am from the UK and have been scared to spend my money on a solar. I just got my new .mantis gt today. You have gave me some confidence towards the solar company now hearing your review
I was just about to pull the trigger on an scooter, glad I didn’t and went with the p1 2.0, for the price it’s a no brainer
One of the most in-depth reviews I've ever seen. You have me interested. Thx
Awesome, thank you!
I personally have bought this scooter about a few months ago and I’ll say it’s the best electric scooter I’ve ever had. I had bad experience with other companies but Solar has been amazing. I’ve already put a 1100 miles on mine and can say it’s very reliable. I got the base model and still got 42 mph as well as going down hill I’ve reached tops of 55
Sounds awesome! Enjoy your ride. -Vosk
how long does batter usually last?
Hey, how do you turn the tron lights on/off....???
Iv just got the upgraded version. P1 3.0.
That’s the mode in-depth review you’ve done Paul, you guys are upping your game, can’t wait to see more content on solar
I love my P1 2.0. Glad ESG were able to review it. You should review the FF 2.0 72v instead of the FF lite.
Thanks so much for the kind words! -Vosk
How long did you have yours?
@@gatesroyale I have had mine since December and I ride it pretty much every day. I have over 600 miles on it.
Nice! -Paul
@@dariuswilliams1900 no issues? wow
Thank you Paul & Vosk, for the well covered In-depth review of the Solar P1 2.0!
Thank you for watching subscribing and commenting! :-) -Paul
Yea, this really does seem like its top of whatever class it's in. I've looked at so many. True 40mph, tubeless tires that will save you so much head ache. The clean lighting and Sine wave controllers for that price! Solar looks like a quality brand. Thanx for the review, you guys are great.
Solar is a very good brand! We are impressed by their value and costumer service they provide. We enjoyed our tests units for sure. This scooter is one of the better values at this price point.
Fantastic review - which is exactly why I bought from Solar 👊🏻
Great to hear! Enjoy
Note, the TRON light adds about two inches to the height of the deck. If you're fairly tall, a higher center of gravity is not great. The deck is already fairly high. Since I don't ride that much at night, I'm skipping that option.
Enjoy your new ride!
Nice review. I can’t wait until you publish the review for the FF Lite and the E1.
Thanks! Looking forward to the FF Lite. I've only had a chance to ride it a little so far. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide- Any progress on the FF Lite review? I’m torn between that and the V3 Phantom. I’m 6’3” and 275 so I want a scooter that can take me up hills and handle my size. I don’t care about crazy fast speeds.
I'm super tempted to get this scooter instead of my dream scooter the Apollo Ghost lol. Thanks Rider Guide for another great and super informative review!
Both are excellent options! -Vosk
Can''t wait to see you guys review the FF 2.0
We are looking forward to it! -Vosk
Solar put the EQ out recently which is essentially the same insides as the P1 2.0 but with a newer and sturdier body. I weight 220lbs and my EQ gets me up to 38mph effortlessly
Very insightful! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
Hi what kind of range r u getting and any other updates?
I’ve just been in Solars website and this is now £1000 with the tron lights which is actually insane value for money.
It sure is! You can also use code ESG10 for 10% off your purchase. -Vosk
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide ah brilliant thank you, defiantly will be my next upgrade for sure
Thanks guys. really appreciate this. It's late winter early spring in Wisconsin and we are getting daily temps above 40F and it's time to buy... this is defiantly one of the scooters I'm looking at. Wish there was a way to compare specific scooters. ... oh well. research research research...
Our pleasure! -Vosk
Roadrunner R5 looks pretty insane too
I've ridden scooters around 40F. You're only losing about 20% range.
I just got the P1 pPo USA version, you should review it, it go up to 50 mph and it’s a total beast for the price.
Hopefully in the future! Thanks for the suggestion. -Vosk
great review guys! i love this scooter!!
Thank you so much! Do you have one already? -Paul
Super good video perfect break down plus entertaining 👌
Thanks so much for the kind words! -Vosk
Can't wait for the FF Lite review...it's near the top of my list.
Thanks for watching subscribing and commenting. Hopefully we'll get to it soon. I've had a chance to ride it a little. I really like how it looks and rides. -Paul
That's my next scooter with the optional seat. I just wish they have a solid/honeycomb tire option. It'll be a PITA to change inevitable flats. How long is your 10% off code good till?
It should be active for a few weeks! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
Get slime or the Solar EQ with puncture preventative fluid option.
Solid tires are obsolete when you're riding on flat proof tubeless tires. Please learn this!
Definitely a Great scooter.. super fast , great acceleration and cosmetics that turn heads whenever I ride it. Your review said the fingerprint version still comes with the key ignition. THAT WAS NOT TRUE! I purchased the fingerprint reader version and it came with no keys , voltage meter or key ignition. other than that I think your review was on point. I think they sent you the version with both to promote sales
We get the test unit months before the public so they could have had small iterations with the next batch. Overall it’s an excellent scooter and great value. -Vosk
Hey I’m new to electric scooters and I want to get one. Do you think this is the best value at this price? Is their any other scooters you recommend around a 1400usd price standpoint?
Yes this is a phenomenal value at this price point. You can also use code ESG10 to get an additional 10% off
geni.us/SolarP1-2?track=ytr
I've got the p1 pro the upgraded version of it, it's a beast. You need to test the solar ff 2.0 5000 watts or the black version 8000 watts meant to be like the king wolf or faster?
Thanks for the suggestion! Noted. -Vosk
Awesome I’ve been asking for solor… now the SOLOR FF
Looks a LOT like my Qiewa Q Power scooter; at the time of purchase (in 2021), it was $1.6k, with dual 1600w/60v/dual hydraulic susp and disc brakes, but I got mine as manager's special for $1K shipped! The only thing that sucks about it was a super flimsy kickstand and IP rating (same, do not take out in the rain). I think ppl sleep on Qiewa, and ESG did one rating video on them, but stopped including their specs in any comparison videos (suss.; their biggest gripe was lousy customer svc.) Any rate...super satisfied customer, basically same scooter (which explains its dated look)
We stopped covering them because they seem to have little to no US distribution or support, and we haven't had many requests from viewers to cover them. Fast scooter for the money though.
Our Q-Power's alarm system drained the battery so dead that it will no longer accept a charge :-( -Paul
Does it have the screw on type folding handlebars like the eq? Or just snap style
I believe it’s the snap!
@RiderGuide … if The choice was between this and the emove cruiser which is at the same price point… which do you choose and why?
Both are very solid but the solar is zippier and higher top speed. Cruiser has better range. Use code RIDERGUIDE50 for the cruiser and RIDERGUIDE10 for the solar. -Vosk
This and the emove cruiser where always my fist 2 options still wondering what one I should get
Can’t go wrong with either! The solar is dual motor which is a plus. You can get 10% off with code RIDERGUIDE10
Awesome review Roadrunner rs5 in the near future?
Yes! It just arrived today! Stay tuned! -Paul
Laotie ES19 does 40+ with ease. 1600. I'm 180ish pounds. Awesome scoot.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I’m from the uk and I currently own the p1.20 with the torn light after watching this I might have to take it back and get the display upgraded to the finger print reader great video!
Awesome review!! Can you please tell me if those tires were on or off road?
Hybrid off road tires!
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thank you for your quick response !
So you can't see the battery level without turning it on every time to check? How do you know when it's fully charged? Is there some kind of over charging protection built in that shuts off charging when it gets to 100%?
most scooters don’t show battery percentage while charging. There is a green light when charged and there is overcharge protection on most scooters!
hello there the zero 10x is not close to 40mph speed? the basic model i think cost about 1,500. This is looking good also tho you guys know your scoots! :)
Thank you so much! When we tested the Zero 10X (52V), the 23ah version went 36.1 mph and the 18ah version went 35.5mph . That was over two years ago though. -Paul
For longer rides does the controller like to be in the highest gear or does that affect burn out rate at all? Thanks
Highest gear is fine! We had no issues at all in our range test and full testing. -Vosk
They use hub motors and they are incredibly hard to burn out
good review. Nice speed and build but it's 20lbs more than I want, and the range is not acceptable for an upgrade for me. I can get 26 miles on mine (that's not as fast of course) and it's $400 less these days. I'll upgrade When there's a $1500 model that weighs 40lbs, can go 30+mph, and real world range of 40-50miles.
Insightful! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
Fluid's Mosquito gets close to these compromises. You could probably add a secondary battery to one for range.
I really need help deciding.
Nami Klima & Mantis King GT for $500 more or Buy this Scooter (Solar EQ is $1400 as well)?
Plz help 😅
EQ is an amazing price now plus use code RG15 for another 15% off , it’s one of the better values in the industry now.
hi, in your P menu what setting is P1 at?
Yes sorry we don’t have that scooter on hand! Please check the manual or email solar scooters for a pdf of a manual. -Vosk
Not gonna lie I definitely like this one !!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching, subscribing and commenting! -Paul
Question. With tubeless tires can you use a regular floor bicycle pump? Or do you recommend something else?
Easier to by a automatic pump on amazon. They are very cheap less then $20!
Cool, thanks. Got my P1 2.0 on way and with your guys savings code and with fingerprint ignition it was just a little over $1200 shipped.
Hi how do you turn the tron lights on and off ?
Should be in the manual!
Looks like a real good one.
Thanks for commenting. Yes, this one surprised us in terms of bang for the buck! -Paul
Unfortunately it’s only possible to order it in the us or Mexico or Canada only. Would it be possible to ship in Europe in Romania?
You can email them and find out! Email costumer service. Might be possible.
Looks like a Yume, also where would we get spare parts from the US or overseas?
US! They stock parts. -Vosk

Thank you...do they have distributors in the US that sell the solar p1 2.0? How do you compare solar p1 to the apollo scooter?
They just came out with the updated 40 mph Solar EQ.

Hi there I want to spend about £1500 ($1800) on a fast, good quality, stable off road scooter. Which one do you recommend please? I'm in the UK.
Nothing is truly off-road but we do recommend the FF lite! It’s an excellent scooter and you can use code ESG10 for 10% off your purchase! Solar is located in the UK and has remarkable service.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thanks for the code. Just purchased one now! Can't wait to get it tomorrow!
What brand batteries
I haven't examined the cells, but the battery pack says "Victpower" made by Zhejiang Victopower Industrial. -Paul
Does it have an odometer?
Yes it does have an odometer! It’s a great scooter for the price. You can use code ESG10 to get 10% off your order. -Vosk
Will you be reviewing the the EQ?
Possibly!
This is the embodiment of turning a sow’s ear into a silk purse - this isn’t me disparaging it though! That stem folding mechanism will be the death of it. They’re good for 500 miles till the play will be several inches at the top of the handlebars. You can also see how quickly the tires have worn with the throttle mapping being so extreme! When that tubeless tire fails, be prepared to lose your mind trying to fit a new tire on, or admit defeat & just put a tube in it. I love these kinds of scooters, don’t get be wrong, but be prepared for build quality way less than Vsett, Zero, Apollo, Dualtron, or even Blade. Oh, the squeaking! Is that why Paul is applying that grease?! I think so. 😅
This company has been in business for a while in the UK and they have an excellent reputation and costumer service is good we hear. -Vosk
I've still got the original P1 with the 48v 15ah battery I've had around 3years and it's still going like a tank it's got 1891.4 mile on the clock it doesn't go any where near as far as it did but it's still going
Thanks amazing! Glad you love it. -Vosk
Was thinking about getting a emove cruisers s with 1600 w motor but for the same price this solar is easily 2x better
And use code RIDERGUIDE10 for 10% off to make the deal even better. Enjoy -Vosk
for sure saving up

HA! I got a Nanrobot d6+ on the holiday sale last year for $1400, goes 40+mph and I weigh 220
Awesome! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
Another great video. Out of curiosity how would you compare this to the varla eagle one? They are usually on sale for 1299 or 1399. Thanks
It doesnt have solid tires. That should tell ya a lot. Solid tires are best on scoots and ive owned a few. Peace of mind.
That's a great question! We've tested the Eagle One Pro, but not the Eagle One. Though we've also tested the old Apollo Pro and Zero 10X which are essentially the same scooters. The P1 2.0 is going to have smoother throttle because of the sine wave controllers. I don't know if the suspension has changed on the Eagle One Pro, but it used to be very smooth, but a bit floaty and would dive when you hit the brakes hard because it lacked any damping in the suspension (all springs no hydraulics). I think the Eagle One is a good looking scooter though.
For me, the sinewave controllers, tubeless tires and hydraulic damping put it out front. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Nice, have fun changing those "tubeless" tires out cause their not full proof tech. Sadly.
Are you saying you prefer split rims with tubes? You're right, pinch flats are eliminated, but you can still get regular flats. -Paul
@Electric Scooter Guide
Thanks Paul, love your Chanel keep up the great work 👍
Reminds me of the Eagle 1
Man I don't want to ride that weakling scooter I'm tempted to buy the Solar FF 2.0 black edition it's a 72v 40ah battery peak power of 8000 watts and goes up to 65 mph. Please whenever you can make a review on that scooter it looks nicer then this scooter Lol. But what I really Wana know if its stable at 60+ mph without a steering demper cause I see it has dual stems and haven't seen anyone put a steering demper on that Solar FF 2.0 black edition. And hopefully has flat proof tires like the wolf king GT cause I hate changing tires its such a nuisance unpleasant lol.
That sounds amazing! I hadn’t heard of that one yet! Thanks so much for bringing that one to my attention! -Paul
@EScooterGuide no problem I'm a scooter head I know most of them.
It looks very similar to the Nanrobot D4
Similar! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk

Yes we have that scooter at our place and will be doing the review in the near future! -Vosk
@RiderGuide awesome to hear!!! Thank you!!
Surprised you guys have never heard of the Varla Eagle One. 2 year warranty
We’ve heard of it. We’ve just never tested it. We did review the Eagle One Pro. -Paul
⚡👀👀⚡
If these brands can just take a page out of automakers play books we could be at a 40ish lb scooter that hits 40MPH. They need to make the shells/frames of the scooters out of carbon fiber reinforced plastics.
Hopefully one day it can happen. -Vosk
Then it'll cost as much as a carbon mountain bike. 1400 vs 4000
@@larryc1616 carbon reinforced plastic is cheaper than carbon fiber
@@larryc1616 It's not expensive actually, bike industry has insanely overinflated prices. You can get a carbon frame for fractions of the price if you're willing to loose Scott or canyon brand.
Tubles tires is a pain in the rear to change them lol
We def love tubeless tires! With sealant it’s easier to keep it flat free compared to tubes
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide just fill your normal tyres with slime job done :)

hate those trigger throttles ... much prefer thumb :(
We like thumbs too! They're still pretty rare though. Sine wave controller make the most out of trigger throttles though. -Paul
You are wrong, the Mantis V2 Fluid Edition is back down to $1499, come on man! That's my scooter!!
Both are exceptional values!
And what’s the most inexpensive that’ll go 50mph?
I'll go look! -Paul
Wolf King GT is the least expensive scooter we've tested that will go 50mph or more. 61 mph for $3,195. Technically, the Wolf King (non GT) went more than 50 mph for less, but I don't think you can buy the non-GT Wolf King anymore. (and the GT is waaaay better than the non GT) -Paul
@Electric Scooter Guide bluetran will go 50+ and it starts at 2699. That's really good
Blade gt plus for $2200 from rydology
@@alexlittig7927 Have over 2k miles on my Bluetran in about 8 months amazing scooter. have the 35 amp/h one. would buy another in a heart beat
with this price, I doubt if I want to buy Apollo city anymore
Both are good choices!
For 1400 you can get the apollo ghost, apollo phantom v2 and other ''last gen'' dual motor high end scooters...
That is not accurate! Ghost & phantom are more expensive by few hundred. This scooter is one of the better values currently in the industry. -Vosk
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide the ghost is 1299$ USD (1750$ CAD) and the phantom is 2000$ CAd (1450$ USD) currently on apollo's website. Both are better quality. There's also the mantis pro etc in the 1300$ USD (1750$ CAD) price range... This feels more like a promotion than a non bias review tbh.
@@Daniel_Clem Apollo are one of the worst, stem cracks, constant punctures, and CS is terrible. My bro had a apollo and i can tell you from what i've seen its non stop issues. btw phantom at 41mph is $2200, you may need to reread content on scooters again.
@@spottedsupercars7919 I just bought an apollo phantom for 1400$ USD, I don't know where you're seeing 2200$, even the new v3 phantom is 1900$ not 2200. I have an apollo phantom and a apollo air and have none of the issues you've listed.
@xHundred Ouch,.I just ordered one...How do you know the Quality is much better ?...I got tired of looking and comparing and Pulled the trigger on this one...did I make a mistake ?
Suspension does not appear be hydraulic as indicated
Believe it’s an option
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Hydraulic suspension vs. Undamped springs seems like a misrepresentation in need of correction for the product reviewed
This had the same parts as a lot of the Yume scooters…
Some of the same parts for sure. We have a Yume D4+ here and the stem latch is the same as are some of the frame parts. My favorite parts of the scooter are the bits that don't show up on similar scooters though: sine wave controllers, tubeless tires, the Tron lights, the fingerprint display and the hydraulic shocks. -Paul
This is a nanrobot d4 2.0
There are some similar parts, yes (as is often the case with China manufacturing) but we went with Solar since they BY FAR have pulled off the best implementation (Nanrobot is definitely not the only one with something that looks similar). As we mentioned in the video you can get some great specs for money elsewhere, but it's often sketch (alibaba / aliexpress..) and if it actually gets shipped to you (watch out for scams!), you are still at risk quality/warranty wise. Somehow Solar has pulled off:
- best implementation
- incredible price (best there is?)
- great service / great brand with trust and longevity (very important to us in choosing what brands we review/promote--we say no to a lot of requests for reviews that aren't customer-centric)
Nanrobot is more reputable than random online purchases, but still is a company that doesn't have strong Western presence, whereas Solar has very strong presence in the UK and has recently made very meaningful inroads in the US (so expect the same great brand promises)
long comment but big context! - Chase
the only thing i don't like about this scooter is the name.
the brand name is misleading consumers into thinking it's actually a solar powered scooter. small gripe, but literally everything else about this scooter is amazing
Name of the brand! Not actual scooter.
"WE NEED REMOVABLE BATTERIES AS AN INDUSTRY STANDARD "
That would be awesome for sure! -Vosk
NOT HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION!
According to Solar's website it has hydraulic damping, and we can feel some sort of damping when we ride it, though we didn't disassemble the shocks. -Paul
Sorry, but not having hydraulic brakes on a 40 mph scooter sounds like a deal-breaker for me. Other than that, I would purchase one based off the rest of the specs.
For this price with hydraulics would be a steal for sure!
Nope. Don’t like it at all.
Many other options for sure!
The guy who asked for a 40mph -40 mile range is bugging, he ain't ever ever in a million years see and be able to buy something that fast and that range for 300$$$ lmaooo he def is a scooter noob, cheap ass 😂😂😂😂 I couldn't help but laugh
Haha! No way
Can you please do a long term review
We currently don’t do learn term reviews!
