Buy a 5mm Allen/ hex t bar and 8mm socket t bar. A 12mm and 14mm 6 sided sockets and your on easy street. I hate Allen key sets, I find them awkward. Batteries are fiddly, I just slow right down. There's a downside to not kick-starting. Great video. I bought a washable K&N filter for the XT as it's tiny size means that it will get dirty easily. American made too.
Wider footpegs are a must do for dirt riders who get up and stand a lot in single track terrain.. If your main riding area is kind of flat, the stock front sprocket is fine.. if you have nasty uphills where the bike will slide backwards on a failed attempt I've found a 14T in the front makes a BIG difference making all the gears much more useable... The only company I found that makes them went out of business over a year ago so...............
Having a skid plate (bash guard) is certainly not a bad idea. I'd check out plates from Happy Trails, SRC Moto, etc. A quick search would give you lots of choices.
I liked your practical views and helpful tips! I have a 2018 that I picked up with only 647 miles on it! Excited about that! I'd like to know where that windshield came from, just what I'm looking for! gotta link? Thanks again! BTW, I subscribed!
I just today bought a 2017 XT. I found your channel today as well and subscribed. Any great upgrades I need? Or helpful tips or pros and cons I should know about?
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! I just did a video on all the mods/upgrades I did on my XT250...you should take a look and see if any of those items pertain to you.
@@precipiceofgrind Had a MC battery last for 8 years Last for years.. unless somehow it is completely dead.. as in completely and really dead. Mine was chugging along fine until I left the key on and drained the battery. After that happens, do yourself a favor and just change it out. It may last a while but it's living on borrowed time just like some car batteries.. Other than a lithium, they aren't that expensive.. They are a pain to replace. My street bike had the same stupid nuts to contend with..
What air pressure are you running on your front and back tires on the dirt? My first ride last weekend I ran 19lbs....and my front end felt like I was floating on the front end.
I never rode a motor bike before & I was wondering if this should be the right bike for me . I see this 2023 model for $5,300 … also how often do you have to change the battery. On & what type of tires should I use . I’ve seen your other vid, saying you use the D sports . Should I use D sport even tho I’m only on the concrete streets of New York
Best bet is to give one a test ride. If you're just going to be riding city streets you'll want to replace that stock seat asap, it gets real uncomfortable real quick. I changed the battery in mine after two years and the D sports tires would not be a good idea for just city riding.
Like The Video(s)? Hit That SUBSCRIBE!!! Really Helps The Channel!!! Thanks For Watching!!!
Recently changed my battery and was convinced I was doing it the hard way. Apparently it’s a pain for everyone. Great video.
Thanks for this video! Just changed the oil on my XT 250 and this video was very helpful. Really appreciate all the content on your channel!
Excellent, thanks for watching and glad you found the video helpful!!
Exactly! I feel the same about that silly battery nut! You would think they would make it easier by now!…smh

Would you suggest that skid plate? What is that brand, or the brand you would suggest?

Awesome video! Where did you get that wind screen?
Thanks for watching! It's a Parabellum Windshield, got it from Procycle.
Great!!! In Brazil we don't have this yamaha version 😪
That's interesting, I would presume a bike like this would do well in Brazil??
i had to drill out the battery terminals and it was a big ole pain in the butt
I'm sure it was amigo! I felt like I was surgeon trying to get that battery situated, no bueno.
How old was your battery? How many years does the stock battery suppose to last?
Can't say how long a stock battery lasts, it depends. This battery was two and half years old.

They last ages using a tender. The tender will pay for itself in a year or two. Unless you ride daily.

Where did you get your passenger pegs and the black supports for the pegs?
Passenger pegs are just stock.
