The red is not as dark like the Japanese show, But to be honest, I don't really mind him being re used with pinless joints because Supaidaman will go great in a comic Spider-verse and the Spider-Man No Way Home Spider-verse display because we are getting the No Way Home 3 pack, As always, Awesome review Anthony.

Honestly the thing that interests me the most about this figure is that it has relaxed hands. That immediately jumped out to me since we rarely see that in the line, usually it's either fists, gripping hands or some kind of emoting/power wielding hands.
Soul of Chogokin Leopardon is really fun, it's so weird to me this and the figuarts came out so close together. Makes me wonder about the overlap between Tokusatsu and ML collectors.
The SHF was a few years ago at least. I think it's more the spiderverse comic had him in it and it sparked a lot of interest. Rumor is he'll be in the new movie
I'd much have preferred an iconic John Romita Sr. 60's-70's Spider-Man, in the light blue and bright red, for a 60th anniversary line (you know, the one that was so iconic, it was used in all the merchandising and branding worldwide for YEARS) before getting the Japanese version, but whaddya gonna do, right? (At least they did right by including Ditko's first appearance Spider-Man, though.)

I was very much wanting this figure, but canceled my preorder after seeing a couple of reviews. Too many issues for too much money. This one should have been an easy sell to someone like me.

Yes and yes. I knew about him before this figure, I'm excited to have him. I'd also like one based on the 80's live action TV show. When I watched the Japanese movie his costume was more orange than red so I think it looks pretty accurate.

Aside from all of the inaccuracies I really feel like the body should’ve been on a power rangers lighting collection body mold, I probably will still buy it once it goes on sale somewhere but yeah pretty disappointing Also would’ve been better/funny if he came with a web that looked like a rope like he actually used on the show instead of an actual web line

The waist situation and the lack of hands is pretty bad but I think the look of it is good enough. In some images the red does look more orange so it’s not completely inaccurate and I like how it makes it look different from other spider man figures. The head sculpt also looks pretty good imo. Just wish these figures weren’t so expensive. I think at $20 I would’ve bought it but at $30 or more it should be at sh figuarts level at least and this ain’t at that level.

So happy hasbro made this. I am one of those who recognize it before Marvel Legends. Although I didn’t watch the show, mostly through Toku fans mentioned before and in the comics. Was super bummed I missed out ShFiguarts version and after market for it is high.
I preordered it as soon as it was revealed. I would've preferred the Figuarts version but it is already in the $200s. While this is overpriced, it is a lot better than $200, but now after seeing this I'm pretty disappointed.
The Japanese show never caught my attention, but I had thought about picking it up and switching the wrist gadget to the right arm to stand in as a Nicholas Hammond 70’s American TV Spidey. However, it’s a pretty lackluster figure. I could live without it

I'm a fan but not of the manga. I like the show. It's shockingly different than the original Spiderman. Living abroad as an adult, I really appreciate the show as a weird cross-cultural time capsule between my new home in Japan and my childhood home in the United States.
Definitely a pass for me unless I find it at a discounted price. I saw an interview with Stan Lee a few years back about the "Spida-mon" show in Japan but it didn't interest me. But for the right price it could be a good addition to my Spiderverse shelf.

That being said, why no butterfly joints on this Spidy? And why no flat hands? I still really like this Spider-Man though. I was not excited for this figure at all, basically just bought him cause I'm a Spiderman Simp, but completely changed my mind when I got him out of the package. The details on the mask where you can see the shape of his face, his ears, nose and everything else is great. He's based off of the show, which I watched as a kid, and that Spiderman doesn't do all the crazy acrobatic stuff that the comic version does, most of the time ends up in his car or Mech, and this figure reflects that for me. Mine didn't have any paint or logo or web issues, so I have no reason to be disappointed with this guy.

I knew about the IP but not enough to care about having a figure. And I think that's why the figure looks lazily done: it's as if Hasbro themselves didn't believe the sales so they wanted to put as little money as possible into it - the figure can't be posed in the most known pose not only because it doesn't have the hands but also cause it doesn't have butterfly joints. That being said I might end up buying if I can get it at clearance prices. Will remove some of that webbing on the body and make me a custom 60s cartoon figure. Probably the best option to have maybe..?

I forget when I stumbled across THE EMISSARY OF HELL, SUPAIDAMAN but it was just before Andrew Garfield. Theres a great meme of Kamen Rider Ichigo saying "our grandfather's fought together" with a screenshot of some cross over. Spiderman was wildly huge in Japan because there's was a Spiderman manga that basically licenses the costume and name and makes up everything else. I never thought we'd get western merch for him and then he showed up in the spiderverse comic. Know what's sad? This is the best option. The SHF is a mess. Honestly if this just also came with flat hands for *the pose* I'd be happy. A 4th pair of trigger hands would be icing for us to give him a machine gun. NECA gave Goliath a jalapeño as just a nod to the fans and to show they did the research. Its simple and stupid but it shows love. I'm part of the problem cause I'll buy this anyway.
Seen this in UK stores. ML were £20 earlier this year, they want £34 for this. Fuck that noise. DC Multiverse are on the same shelf and yes, they definitely have their own problems but they're bigger figures with similar articulation and often much more detailed sculpts with more paint and those are STILL £20. WTF, Hasbro?

I have the S.H. Figuarts Supaidaman and it’s excellent! One of my favorite figures.

I was interested in the figure as I knew of the show way before this release, but the price put me off. Glad that I didn't miss out on anything as they botched it. Another Hasbro Rhino turd. Not even getting it even if its on sale.
The Japanese Spider-Man was a tokusatsu show just like Power Rangers. The Power Rangers toyline body sculpt should be more like this.
I knew of Supaidaman before but I have never seen the show. I was kinda hyped for the S.H.Figuarts when that one came out too.
