Who doesn't know who Brantley Gilbert is? He is the best (and most handsome) country boy in the industry today in my opinion, he doesn't write songs just to make money, but to tell a story. His story, his music is so powerful. Every one of his songs has touched me in one way or another My personal favorite: you promised. Go look it up.

@@lifeasamovie he nailed this song. Vern Gosdlin is one of my favorite country music artists. Right up there on my top 5 along with George Jones, Conway Twitty, Charlie Pride, Johnny Cash, Waylon. We need more like these country music artists. When country was country. And when they would perform, they put there heart out.

It's my momma's favorite song; you should put out a single, a cover of Vern Gosdin's "Chiseled in Stone"; Brantley w/ an acoustic guitar and a microphone. Just like above.

I agree, I come here and just listen to it over and over.....admire him for only wanting to record and sing only what he writes, but I'd love to have a good recording of this cover. There is something so messmerizing about BG's voice...the intensity and passion.
Let me tell you "nobody" can hold a candle to Vern. But BG did not ruin this one. A great acoustic performance from a talent young man. That actually took time to honor country music by playing an actual 'country" song. I enjoyed it!
