I had the honor of working with Eloise this summer for about a month. She is simply amazing! She kept up this energy level up for everything! She is a great performer and great person!
i learned this choreo tonight with her amazing standby, Tessa Grady and it’s as difficult as it seems but, even more fun then you could ever imagine! i LOVE this choreo!!!
A good friend, just introduced me to this Star Tar song which is so darling and then sent me this link, and it made my day! Wonderful. I cannot believe that I have never seen this video before this day, but never too late to see such a great tap dance and sizzling song. Brilliant!
Back when I was in college, one of the professors was Jim Wise, who was the composer of Dames at Sea. The year he retired, we did Dames at Sea as a tribute to him. Of course with college students doing the show, it wasn't up to a professional snuff, but we did the best we could and Jim seemed to appreciate it. His collaborator Robin Miller even came to see it. This was in the 80's at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
I know you most likely won't reply, but I have a question. In tap dancing, do certain moves have names? Or is it just "Tap like.... This" and that's it?
Does anyone know what the white things on their tap shoes are? Did they stick something on them or is the leather just wearing down? Amazing dancers by the way :)
+Luan Victor Duct tape protects the shoes, at least that's what they tell me at my dance studio. These actors are probably wearing their shoes for the show, so maybe they want to protect them? It could also protect the floor if these floors aren't made for taping? Hope this helps :)
I realize that John Bolton is executing the steps, but he just looks like a terrible dancer. Like a deranged, uncoordinated string bean. Normally I enjoy his performances. This one . . . not so much. Maybe it's because it's a rehearsal.
so I've rewatched his part so many times and I think I can tell you why he looks like a noodle while dancing. It's because all of the other dancers have more defined arm movements, like more coordinated or think more like how a ballerina would hold their arms while performing. John Bolton kinda has more of a loose sort of floppy arm situation, and the fact that he's wearing baggier clothes doesn't help. so basically it's just a combo of he has noodle arms and his clothes are baggy but I still love his performance in this show.
I assume he was cast for his other talents and probably had to learn tap for the role. But in his role as the Captain, it's in character not to be the best dancer in the troupe.
Eloise is just wonderful. She has the old time traditional Broadway flair . May she have many years of musical entertaining.
I watch this about 4 time a week. I am so happy that Eloise is playing Jennyanydots in the Cats revival!
I took a class at camp with Eloise and she is so beyond talented and she is SO SWEET I love her

Best tap performance in the hole world
Emil Kurz *whole
Oh my gosh. As a tapper, I know that must be exhausting.

@@sorrel272 Hey! I absolutely will reply! :-) Yes, every movement has a name. It does sometimes seem like it's random, but everything has a name. :-)
Eloise surely is a candidate for future roles that also came by Angela Lansbury!
Does anyone know what the white things on their tap shoes are? Did they stick something on them or is the leather just wearing down? Amazing dancers by the way :)
OMG THIS MUST BE SO TIRING! They did amazingly!
I just love and i'm not even gay, i think
LOL!!!
fantastic... but man it is 2020, You can't say dame anymore! dood!
Her dancing on Brimful of Asha brought me here
Is this what the musical number from “Hail, Caesar” is based off of?
YOUR TAP DANCING TURNS ME ON MMM
Can someone tell me why they have duct tape on their tap shoes ?? x
+chloe ohara I was wondering the same thing, i'm tap dancer and i have never used duct tape on my tap shoes, maybe the floor is slipping too much.
+Luan Victor Duct tape protects the shoes, at least that's what they tell me at my dance studio. These actors are probably wearing their shoes for the show, so maybe they want to protect them? It could also protect the floor if these floors aren't made for taping? Hope this helps :)
+Audrey Senior thank you, I was just curious 😊😊
Chloe O'Hara It's to prevent slipping! If you are in a studio without Marley on the floor it gets really slick-- especially tap shoes.
なにをしても…足のにやがさは…………かわらにやいということにや🐱🐱
well....fuck.

is the second guy from the left a tapper? seems a little slow compared to the others...
Very good but I wonder how many budding Stars can actually make a living out of it ? 🤔
I wasn’t super impressed with her acting or singing, but she’s certainly an amazing tapper
