We are a family of 6 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! We hope you enjoy seeing are crazy life, full of lots of laughs, great memories and maybe a few tears..

I lived in Alaska many decades before actually leaving. It takes abt 3 years to give Alaska a fair shake, to really know how to live in Alaska, and appreciate Alaska. For many years I was totally on my own. JESSICA, You are right; she's a whimp, going back to Mom. Don't think she's being fair, cause she has family there, with family, life in Alaska is a whole lot easier.
You two have probably spent more time together in the past year, than the past 25 years. :)

She may have made it a few more years in Anchorage, Palmer of Wasilla areas. North Pole and FBX has brutal winters, much colder and longer winters. It’s hard when family leave the state. 😊. I love watching from AZ, former AK resident (born & raised).

I can’t imagine moving to Alaska and then moving away only a year later. It’s so costly to move there. When I looked at moving the cost was insane.
I think the prices in Alaska are the same as they are in NJ now. Sorry to hear Em is leaving. It is nice seeing you with your family. I know you and Bert and the children will miss them.
Prices are very similar to my area of NJ too. Maybe slightly higher, but not by much.

I love you two so much!! My oldest brother was 19, married and in the military when I was born. My sister was 18 and graduating high school. My other 2 brothers were 14 and 10. So like you - I was definitely the baby of the family!! ❤

But it’s not fair to the grandparents who live elsewhere. You act like they will never see each other again! There is zoom and other ways to stay in touch. They will come to visit I’m sure and vice versa

The Book-It program is back!!!! You have to sign your kids up on line. Garret MIGHT be the only one who can do it though. I think Olivia is too young and the other girls are too old. Not sure though. Check it out!! Fun video! You two are so going to miss each other!! I get the reasoning though as they did go from very hot to very cold! That is crazy actually when you think about it.

I was stationed there for 3 years and i miss it very much every day. If you were born and raised there I can't imagine you willingly leave there under any circumstance. Alaska, Fairbanks and North Pole are unique and the people that are there are unique. I hope its not as expensive there now as it is in Socal. A lot of places are closing here because of this.

Moving t Alaska from Arizona is probably the biggest. Stretch of temp. That would take some getting used to.

The prices of the foods are very similar to here in Central Texas,but the drinks are a little more expensive in Alaska.

I totally get leaving AK! I left at the age of 42. BUT I didn’t want to. I broke my neck and have hardware from C2-C7. The cold and barometric pressure makes my quality of life bad. We started wintering in TX but now going through a divorce since my husband of 37yrs choose drugs and other women.😢
Not sure when I’ll make it back home to AK. I don’t have a house there anymore and not sure I want to go back to the peninsula.
