For me it has been very hard finding people who know ELP, so imagine how hard it must be to find people who like ELP, can play ELP and are willing to play Tarkus with you. That's my absolute dream! Congrats, guys
I’m one of the lucky ones that was able to see all their early tours of the US. The Tampa Bay Area was always on their list and they put on a great performance. Rest In Peace Keith and Greg.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Extraordinary! Outstanding! Brilliant! This is a breathtaking arrangement of ELP's Tarkus! Thank you for keeping this Masterpiece of the 1970's Art Rock genre alive, fresh and vibrant!
Fan-tas-tic! 50 years later, I find the spirit and the pleasure of tasting this mythical anthem! The interpretation is breathtaking! And completely disconnected ..... no rhythm box or syntetizers, a feat, I'm drooling. At times of pleasure I experience these interpreters. ELP......NOT DEAD! Bless you.
This was amazing. As a man who has loved "Tarkus" since the mid-1970s, this was the most unique re-arangement of the piece that I have ever heard. Kudod to all of you!
I just loved it, I remember playing this lp for my friends & they cringed at the music. I’m 73 & have listened & loved this piece since its debut, a masterpiece
This is insanely well played and fantastically arranged! The alternative instruments and slightly slower timing than the original serve to highlight the complexity of this composition and argues its place among the best of 20th century classical compositions. Also noteworthy: it takes six musicians to replicate the music of the original three.
they choose to use this many.. it isn't needed but in this to play the song. You don't understand music reality and how mallets work. ELP isn't BACH, so don't go overboard.
As Keith Emerson said he considered himself as a percussionist ,I'm sure he enjoyed this version of Tarkus in musical heaven an exceptional piece of work. Congratulations
Being a fanatic ELP fan since the early 1970's in my teen years, I found this performance to be SO WELL DONE. a TRULY AMAZING performance!!! ...You all made Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer proud!!!!!!!!!!
Danke
Bravo! Art Percussion Ensemble is awesome. I never knew such covers existed. Never saw a bass marimba before. My retirement allows me to meander thru these vast youtube archives. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic!! I’m quite sure that the original members of ELP would appreciate this a lot. It’s just great that people play their music, transform it and play it in the passionate way you do. Thank you so much!!
Trascrizione esemplare!
I’m a fellow percussionist, I want to play this with these guys. The vibraphone solo on “Stones of Years” is exquisite. BRAVO 👏🏽👏🏽 Very well performed ❤️🔥
What a thing to pop up in my UA-cam feed. I grew up on the original but this is giving me the chance to hear it again through someone else’s ears and imagination and I love it. Thankyou
I thought it might lack the energy of the original because of the nature of the instruments but Manticore proved that they could create a fair crescendo of sound. Congratulations to you on your interpretation of a very fine piece of music.
Tuned percussion instruments have great impact when listened live, I have been lucky enough to listen this piece ua-cam.com/video/ZXJWO2FQ16c/v-deo.html at the Cagliari Conservatory of music and was astounding
Many thanks, This is the far best performance of Tarkus I have been watching/listened to. It follows the original ELP recording, not only in the harmonies, but also the energy and thoughtfulness in the piece. I bought the Tarkus LP back in 1971 and it gives me shiver.
I first heard this song when I was in middle school, and the impact it had on me continues to this day. There are many other performances of this great song that are a testament to the respect it deserves. #ELP #TARKUS
Fantastic! The genius of Keith Emerson. Weather done by orchestra, solo piano, power trio or even a capella, this piece shines as a compositional gem and will still be fresh hundreds of years from now.
I was introduced to this by my last primary school music teacher, I took amongst others, this on one of two mp3's and into the 🇲🇱🇲🇷🌴🐪 where nomad I played this to on a small stereo speakers, simply loved this.
Kudos to every musician involved in this spectacular interpretation of a challenging ELP piece. This was very enjoyable and special to hear. Thank you!
I appreciate all the time and effort that was used in making this, and it’s like a totally new sound, which is way cool, but I really do miss the sound of Keith’s synthesizer and Greg Lake’s most beautiful voice. But Kudos to you guys. Very, very interesting!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Just came across this. I’m a massive ELP fan and love coming across alternative renditions of their work - especially Tarkus. This is fantastic (even if it does sound like Zappa plays ELP). Bravo.
I'm not only a massive ELP fan but an even bigger fan of Frank Zappa. I see where and why you stated "(even if it does sound like Zappa plays ELP)" but I assure you it would be an extremely lavish and tastefully weird and it would have included more instruments other than drums, Marimbas, Vibraphones and Glockenspiels.
FANTASTICI !!! GRANDISSIMA EMOZIONE !!!
Wow! This was absolutely wonderful. What a joy. Great audio recording and camera work as well as the six committed incredible musicians working so tightly together to produce this brilliant piece. Thank you so much. Bravo!
Very polished performance all round. Well done all involved! Of course, some things adapt better than others to all-percussion, and as fine as the execution was, for me I still think an actual bass guitar would have brought it to life more.
I love what you did with this! I've heard different versions and adaptations but this was very satisfying. Believe me I would know I bought this album in 1971 when it first came out. And I've seen them live many times. You guys were awesome!

I love this suite. So great to hear and see this version😊
ADORINGLY OBSESSED WITH THIS, PROBABLY PLAYING HUNDREDS OF REPLAYS.
MAGNIFICENT!!!!
Thank you. That was amazing.
This was amazing. As a man who has loved "Tarkus" since the mid-1970s, this was the most unique re-arangement of the piece that I have ever heard. Kudod to all of you!
It sounds a little like what "Tarkus" might have been if Frank Zappa had written it! I'm fascinated!
Wonderful The performance !! tarkus is one of My favorites suites in the progresivo rock
I just loved it, I remember playing this lp for my friends & they cringed at the music. I’m 73 & have listened & loved this piece since its debut, a masterpiece
What did your friends listen to?
amazing! percussion gang rise up!
Magnifique et bravo pour cette interprétation. Merci.👍👍👍
I believe both Keith and Greg would enjoy this.😎

I’m a fellow percussionist, I want to play this with these guys. The vibraphone solo on “Stones of Years” is exquisite. BRAVO 👏🏽👏🏽 Very well performed ❤️🔥
ATIPIC INTERPRETATION OF THE SUITE TARKUS REALLY AN MINUCIOUS AND VERY TALENTOSE INTERPRETATION IS COOL😮❤😮
Brilliant!! Really enjoyed this!! Imagine 4 percussionists to properly recreate the music played by one amazing keyboardist. RIP Keith.
What a thing to pop up in my UA-cam feed. I grew up on the original but this is giving me the chance to hear it again through someone else’s ears and imagination and I love it. Thankyou
Awesome! Thank you sooo much for honoring this music in this. Just GREAT!!!👏👏👏

Beautiful and stunning.
Brilliantly played - a mesmerizing adaption of Tarkus!! 🤓
I´m clapping my hands. That was very nice.

Nice cover. Polymetric galore! Keith would be proud!
Bravo!!! Found this video. Sometime ago and keep returning!!! I originally saw ELP back in 1978 during the Works Tour!!!
Beautiful payoff to all those years of practice, bones beaters. Bravo!
Fantastic! The genius of Keith Emerson. Weather done by orchestra, solo piano, power trio or even a capella, this piece shines as a compositional gem and will still be fresh hundreds of years from now.
Brilliant stuff.
Wow! Captures the essence of the original in a superb way. The percussion is astounding!
Congratulations, maestro Massimo. Excellent performance, a tribute to ELP.
Speechless this is beautiful, dynamic and most revealing of a representation of a modern classic!
And just like that, I clicked on the coolest video on UA-cam!
Absolutely outstanding.

Great arrangement, superb performance! Makes me also realize it takes four musicians to resemble Emersons keyboard magic...
An' how about the warheads on that vibraphonist?
I thought I'd just play 3-4 minutes of this to see if I liked it.
I ended up playing the whole piece.
A brilliant arrangement & performance.
Excellent work and musicianship, paying beautiful tribute to one of the greatest and most underrated works of all-time! Instant subscribed! 🎯🥁💯❤
That was fantastic!
Fantastisch !!!!! *****
It's amazing how Tarkus can be interpreted in so many different ways: piano, orchestra, and now this. Excellent!
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
