First listened to this in 2019 and I'm back to hear it yet again. So unbelievable that one person can play all those voices simultaneously, and with such great clarity! The energy exhibited in this performance is incredible. Mr. Noack should be more well known, without a doubt.

I completely agree with you. If you like the skill without the exaggerated mannerisms, check out Vyacheslav Gryaznov. He is just like this pianist here. The resemblance in style, composure, and grace is astounding.

BRILLIANT! Noack's transcription uses the full dynamic resources of the piano to effect the dramatic contrast between the solo and repieno parts. The result, in a sense, brings the Bach more sharply into view against the Vivaldi background--the amazing complexity and richness that Bach added to what was already a masterpiece by Vivaldi. Like any great re-setting of a piece by Bach, this version--and Noack's flawless performance thereof--bring out aspects of Bach's music that had remained relatively hidden. It is a characteristic of Bach's music that those hidden surprises are endless--almost any new setting or version allows us to discover something new and marvelous. That is certainly true of this version. Bravo!

He does honor to the music and effaces 'himself', becomes a direct intermediary without exaggeration or annoying idiosyncracies or excessive persona that would overshadow our listening.
