Hey I'm actually following pearstrike on Twitch XD although I never really get on there anymore. He's pretty nice. I used to bug him calling him Daddy and stuff 😂😂😂😎😎😎.
Now I'm older though so I'd only say Daddy maybe about 5 times now :3

TheEmeraldKirby Yeah it looks good. If my phone had more space I'd download it. I'll keep an eye on it in case I get a new phone with more space and less bloatware. My android can't be rooted sadly and that appears to be the only way to remove bloatware. Is there a desktop version? Or like a website version I mean? Cause I could just pull it up on my google chrome app.
I never owned Air Ride, I had a friend that did and I remember it being super fun. I played it again at a different friend's house last year and... It's still entrancing. I don't know if I'd say fun, but once you start playing, you don't really want to stop, despite how little there is to do.
I use to spend literal hours playing and replaying City Trial when I was younger. It just has that special charm.
"despite how little there is to do"... someone hasnt really played air ride then :P. there is ALWAYS something to do because checklist, and once you complete it, you restart and play it again re-unlocking everything in a different order. the first few goals may be a pain once youve seen the complete set, but the grind is the fun part :P.
I think the magic of KAR is the hard differences between the vehicles, but the fluid nature of the stats. It’s not completely freeform like you’re editing console commands, but it’s not completely locked like choosing different characters. A few of Sakurai’s games use this structure :D it’s addictive! Especially in Kid Icarus Uprising!

City trial and top ride are my favorite. Kracko who I dubbed Sydney as a kid always was fun to use too.
Kirby Airride needs an HD remake on the switch.

I've been playing this game on and off for like 12 years and I actually noticed a large chunk of these on my own and I've made an effort to explain where they come from and why they occur to further my knowledge of inside games.
Couple more things I noticed is when you have a lot of glides, the wheeled machines won't glide in the usual way, especially if you turn sharply while in the air, instead it'll be pushed into slow motion for a time depending on your glide count. Thought it was funny because you can actually keep it going for a long time in some places.
Also Wheelie Scooter is the most fascinating to get items for because I notice these things becoming more prominent as your items increase. That prolonged boost is actually a major hindrance on City Trial if you're trying to get as much items as possible since it can be activated by cracking a box and I'm pretty sure it's the value behind its boost variable that allows this to happen. Honestly this scooter is a mess sometimes and I love it!
With the Hydra glitch, there are certain corners where you can trap a Kirby and with a bit of luck you can knock him insanely far.
And I'm like 90% sure Bulk Star hasn't got a Top Speed value. Top Speeds have pretty much no effect on them, rather as long as there is charge left, the speed will linearly increase. It's constant acceleration, which can be enhanced by the Boost item, so if speed is what you're after on Bulk Star, you need to find a way to keep the acceleration going as long as possible and at the right time. There's a different charge system for gliding where the charge slowly increases and that can be manipulated to keep Bulk Star going for longer.
They should really make a sequel.

The fact that the Wheelie Scooter is popular with speedrunners fills me with joy. The scooter was always my favorite vehicle because it moves decently fast and handles nicely.
There's also a glitch with the Wing Star. On the Nebula Belt track(I've never been able to replicate it on other tracks so I don't know if it would work anywhere else) glide off of a ramp and then nose dive until you slam into the ground. Keep holding up on the control stick, and Kirby should start contiuously bouncing forward(It might not work on your first attempt, though it is fairly easy to pull off).
The bouncing is faster than the Wing Star's normal speed, and it's also difficult to turn corners without causing Kirby to stop bouncing.
There’s another way to do this. Go into City Trial and find a Winged Star. Then just play like normal, but when you are about to land from a glide and the area in front of you is flat and open, do NOT touch the Control Stick at all. If your stats are in just the right place (I don’t know which ones affect the glitch but I’m certain Glides are involved), the glitch will happen. I haven’t played in a while but this is how I remember doing it.

We'd also see if we could hit the other player when they landed as a sort of baseball game
Another trick that I should mention is that the rocket star has a huge speed boost when trailing another player, so take two of them, one hangs out behind the other and pushes, and you get a sort of bobsled moving at over 120mph. We did this all the time on Nebula Belt.

despite having vivid memories of playing this on my gamecube, who would of thought that Kirby air ride would be my very first kirby game and introduce me into the Kirby franchise and making me a kirby fan boy and even after all of theses years this game is still pretty fun to play

The was the first Kirby game I ever played. I hadn't even heard of Kirby before I played this game, and it's still probably my favorite Kirby game

Kirby Air Ride was the game that made me love Kirby and my sister and I used to spend hours playing it as kids.
every video i watch on this game makes me want to re-buy it(scratched to the point it is impossible to enjoy...) and a couple of new controllers (both ones i have right now have different issues) to play with my siblings again... :p such an underrated game. anyone who's played it loves it, yet the collective internet doesnt seem to talk about it too much... :(

I love Kirby Air Ride. Probably my favorite Kirby game. Actually heah it is my favorite game.
This is the millionth video i've seen that is sponsored by Amino. Not that it's a bad thing, I'm just surprised.
I have a theory on the flying bulk star. From what I can tell, that vehicle tries to do a jump instead of a "glide", so to speak. It seems the game tries to use your speed to determine how high you jump when you become airborne, and you seem to briefly gain a bit of speed at the start of diving with the A button.
You fly by doing very brief A presses at a fast rate, and flight is easier to establish when you take off at a higher speed. Additionally, upgrading the flight stat in city trial seems to boost your jump height, and upgrading top speed and boost both help you take off faster, and both of these make exponential flight much easier and stronger.
I discovered flight on my own by hitting a ramp real fast with 10+ glide and 12+ boost, jumping up almost to the island in the sky, then landing right next to a second ramp and slamming up into the skybox at lightspeed. With those stat boosts, a single feather touch of the A button while midair would launch the vehicle up higher than the volcano.
DPad, I now have to clean my kitchen because that Remember The Name reference made me laugh so hard I spit my cereal. Excellent showing with KAR! Glad to see it, that City mode was about two years of my adolescence.
I had a super weird glitch one time in City Trial, I think I had the Hydra and it was during a 7min timed match with 3 computers. I attacked one of the CPUs, I think it was in the water pit in front of Electric Lounge, and then all the CPUs on the map started glitching out and every time I moved they got hurt by me and were frozen in place.
This game deserved a sequel... it's a shame they make some random game that are so good sometimes but they just drop the idea afterward. Pokémon Snap for example. I mean you had the fucking wii, the 3ds, the wii U, and now the switch, like seriously, the more advanced your consoles get, the more I wonder why there isn't a pokémon snap sequal yet. It would fit those consoles SO much..
The flight warp star can fly high enough to get out of bounds too.

Is the ridiculous drafting speed of the rocket star a glitch, or intended behavior? It's so fast that a pair of rocket stars being controlled by one person can outspeed the hydra on most stages.

Stangely enough I didn't see the glitch with the wheelie scooter that I aways used when I played this. I don't know if it's just in the NA version, but you know how on grind rails and ramps you can use forward and back to angle your jumps? If you hold back to angle your jump upward, but at the last moment hold forward, you go absurdly fast for a moment. The only track I didn't win every time was Nebula Belt because it had comparitively few ramps, and no rails compared to the other tracks.
I don’t remember much of playing this game when I was younger & my cousin had it when she came to my house but I do remember it being the funnest thing.
