    Great Content Elliot. I’m currently scheduled to take on the Net + in a month and will be taking on the Sec + after I finish a systems security class in my local community college. At my school they offer vouchers for these CompTIA exams if you are a Computer Information Systems major (closest major relating to cybersecurity). I’m not sure if it’s a known thing but for those that are looking to take on these exams it would good to look into a program at a local college to see if they help with prep or cover the exams in their programs. This has been a personal cheat code because not only is the exam covered for me but I developed personal friendships with peers in my major to study for these exams. Anyone taking these exams, I wish you the best.

I know about nine people who rushed to get the certificate and still can’t do nothing with it as far as finding work. If you want it for bragging rights and for it to look good on LinkedIn, then I’m not hating ha ha. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

    I have been somewhat analyzing your approach to this vs other influencers out there. I'm starting to think that just 90% of the test is memorization and the rest is practical theory applied. Memorizing is doable for some of us at a high rate daily if we diligently approach it every day but in chunks and most specifically TARGETTED focuses. Others will have to attain it slowly because they want to visually see how it works in practice.
    To me, since it's just words and I may not actually see it in practice just yet, that's ok. I don't necessarily NEED to, I do need to however say the right things for now because I will most assuredly get hands on practice in due time. The randomness of the actual guides is what throws me off and I need structure to a flow of what to study, yours is the closest I've seen to something that resembles " _read this today, read this part tomorrow, do a quiz on JUST THAT and see if you remember, ok do it again_ ".
    I'm going through NGT Academy and this has been so far more helpful to me than what they are presenting which seems random to me.

    I do have one small critique of the study guide with respect to the term lists. If they were in an easily convertible format for flash cards like CSV that would be awesome! I'm having to move them to Anki flash cards manually right now, and it's taking some time! Also if you would like I can export my Anki files as I have separated them, and you can include them in your Study guide package with a Readme with instructions on how to use them for other people who are learning :)

    Hi Elliot - thanks for this video and content. I downloaded your zip file and in looking at the study guide layout (lessons 1-16), I’m not seeing how your study guide notes line up? What am I doing wrong? For example - Chapter 3 in your study guide notes is “Malicious Code”, but the study guide itself has chapter 3 as “Explain Cryptographic Solutions”. What am I doing wrong here :) I love the notes, but just want to see how I leverage them and line them up to the study guide. Thanks a bunch!

    • @Chris-gx9yt
      @Chris-gx9yt 2 місяці тому

      @elliotcrosen - PS I think I have the online “study guide”, called CertMaster via CompTIA and just trying to align to that. The study guide pdf you have aligns exactly to the certmaster I am following, but the notes you have seem to follow a different chapter sequence or something? Thanks!

    • @elliotcrosen
      @elliotcrosen  2 місяці тому

      Hey there! My study guide notes align with CompTIA Security+ Study Guide SY0-701 (Sybex Study Guide) 9th Edition. I put a link to the study guide in the description but you can also find it here: amzn.to/3AWviD2
      If you decide to buy the Sybex Study Guide, you will see in that study guide's Chapter 3 is called "Malicious Code" which is the same as my study guide notes, Chapter 13 is "Wireless and Mobile Security" which is the same as my notes, and so on.
      Hope that helps!
