I personally haven't used them, I'm not sure.
Great video really good information.
Would a masters in cybersecurity replace the security plus certification in terms of baseline for govtech?
Thank you so much!
What’s the significance in GovTech ? What if I have my security + already.
Question there are different numbers of this book, so is there a certain number I’m supposed to get? I saw 401, 601 and 701 so does it matter?
Get 701.. 401 is expired and 601 expired soon
@@Mr_JFord Thank you for that information
Hello, i start my BS in Information Systems and Cybersecurity/Homeland Security next month. How can i get ahead of the game ? What can i start doing before i start?
Super grateful!!!
Hi all! Where is the best place/website to get the certification??
Appreciate you so much
I’m locked in 🙏🏾👑
I only got a 2 week class for this exam. It’s not nearly enough time to actually learn everything
Going to sit mine in 2025 thanks for the I formation, do they have test locations outside of the states?
But what about the hands on technical stuff you need to know
I’m finna schedule security plus 601 exam on July 24th before it expires. I hope I pass on the first try.
Why not do 701?
@@leekeybaum6948 that’s exactly what I am finna do. You see I already had written the notes back in December or January, but I didn’t get done till late June. So I felt like I wasn’t going to be prepared for the exam and July felt like it wasn’t going to be enough time. So I decided to do 701, and by the way after I calculated my bills, I didn’t have enough to buy a voucher, so I decided to do 701.
@@leekeybaum6948I’m currently working on 701 now, I didn’t get a chance to test for 601 but I’m currently focusing on 701 so I I’m finna lock in and get this certification.
@@leekeybaum6948 I am about take my first attempt at the 701 security plus exam on October 30th.
Im in the Govtech community group, I passed first try. Good luck to anyone taking the exam 🫡
How long did you study for?
Hey, is this a group anyone can join? I passed mine first try this week and would love to talk to people in a similar position
Let's goooo! Congrats!!
@@Tu51ndBl4d3 No it a Govtech group that she created. I think it was worth it from the number of people in it and the resources.
@@bvb9348 I studied on and off for 3 months but I also was traveling a lot for a month.
Does anyone have some advice on how to properly pace myself during the exam? For every practice test that I have taken, I find myself not having much time left over. There are some questions that I have to read twice. I would like to have at least 15 minutes remaining to check some of my answers.
Flag any question you aren't entirely sure of. Then come back at the end. If you are flagging too many you need to prepare more.
@@symonebeez Thank you very much.
Looking to get my certificate
Do you recommend getting your voucher from from CompTIA or say professor messer?? It’s $362
Mile wide inch deep is so true
Damn im taking the testout sec + course and im fucking flabbergasted. Idk how people are taking it straight up taking the test
It's Not for just applied to Cyber Security, without it, I can't get developer DOD positions either.
Please talk to us about this salary doubling from having passed this exam...
About my salary doubling?
Thank you this is gonna help
Best video thak you !!!!
Hi Symone. Should i study IT basics first/compTIA A+ before doing cyber security? I'm new to tech. I've watched videos of cyber security experts giving conflicting advice. Some say beginners in tech must study IT basics first before doing comptia sec+, others say it's not necessary. Which is the right way to go? Can i pass compTIA Sec+ if i just study as tech beginner & do the exam? Please i really need advice on this. Anyone in the field can answer with honest feedback.
you got my follow
Do you have a book to recommend for starting with hardware software knowledge?
You could read a "Computers for Dummies" book or a "CompTIA ITF+ book"
Is CompTIA Sec+ for beginners with no tech background who want to get into cybersecurity? There's too much conflicting advice. Some say to start at comptia a+ if you're a beginner, others say to just do sec+ stright away.
A mile wide and inch deep lol
Passed mine first try 701
Congrats!!
You weren’t lying
Do the Comptia Certs carry the same weight if you get them from a third party like Alison or Udemy.?
You can use study materials from a third party, but to access the exam you would use the CompTIA site.
Anyone know where you can connect with mentors for IT?
dope info
The best video for the noobs like me..
Did you get network+ first or did you go straight for sec+?
