"And maybe like me use 0.00 Throttle MID and 0.3 - 0.6 Throttle Expo in Betaflight to get good throttle control." - very useful! Great fly by whoopbutterfly!
Share your rates and expo for other inputs and throttle cut/max if you have please?

👍 I'm glad I could help you! My Rates are: Betaflight RC Rate 1.20 | Rate 0.70 | RC Expo 0.00 | 800 degrees on all axes. You can see them here in the pictures at the end of this video: ua-cam.com/video/2wCopw5o4Co/v-deo.html Throttle cut depends on the kv of the motors. If the kv is very high like on my 80mm 2S 1102 18000kV build the you can go to Throttle cut scale 60% if needed..

It is confusing like that, you should ranked them up from 65 to 85 last and it would have been helpful your vocal comment, btw i just subscribed to ur channel as its very interesting

I understand you. I sorted it from slowest to fastest (for indoor racing). Regarding the comment on the video: That's right, I didn't dare speak English there yet. Thanks for subscribing. That motivates me to keep going

Nice testing! i'm curious as to why you expo at 0 throttle rather than say 0.4 throttle (where you might spend the most time)?

    • @butterflyfpv
      @butterflyfpv  Рік тому +2

It's difficult to explain. But I can tell you like this: Ultimately you have to adjust the throttle so that it is right for you. And it is important to fly at least 50-100 Lipos with each new setting. I made my setting so that I can be between 30% and 80% with the throttle stick most of the time. That was my goal. But your goal might be something else. It is important that you set it correctly for yourself. I set Throttle MID so that I'm hovering at about 40-45% throttle. It is important that you understand that throttle MID 0.5 does not mean you can hover at 0.5. It varies depending on the kv of the motor. I hope this helps you. Otherwise you are welcome to write again.

Some people say to set it about where you'd hover or cruise, but the problem is there's a sudden dip if you go below that. Putting the curve to Zero, so eliminating it, you then get a consistent curve like you normally would on the other axis. You get more resolution in the center and a bit less at the ends. I've spent hours trying to come up with a good curve in sims like Velocidrone, but always end up ditching the idea. It's really tricky to get it to feel right. I'm insanely picky though.

Yes, I think everyone has to try in the end. But extremely IMPORTANT: fly at least 50-100Lipos after each change. Many people (including me in the past) think too quickly that the new setting is not good and do not give the brain enough time to adapt..

What quad do you feel the most consistent with? Which one feels the most stable?
I just ordered the uz85 frame and was thinking of doing a swap with 75 Pro parts. I just "freestyle" outside. I was going to put some gemfan 2015 props on it. Any thoughts? Nice job on the video and great flying.

Thank you! So if you only fly outdoors then you could also build a light 85 2S. And otherwise a 85mm 1S build as you said or the meteor 75 pro is also very good (even almost stock with only a few mods). Is the 75 pro not enough for you? An 85 is not much more stable (just a bit). Then there is the question of whether it is worth converting. And you also lose some power because the 22k motors are somehow not as good as the 18k motors for 2" props (I have yet to find out why exactly, but I think the thinner motor cables on the 22k motors could be responsible)

@@butterflyfpv I honestly just felt like experimenting for the sake of it. The 75 Pro has been a ton of fun. I'm mainly looking for something that does a little better in the wind and more top end. Which doing the 85 frame swap is probably not that answer to that. I think ultimately the answer is maybe ditching the prop guards and going the toothpick route... I don't know though, I just really love the whoop style frame. Whenever someone see's it flying they just wave at it. Like it's not intimidating at all, and I love that about it. People genuinely get a kick out of it more than being annoyed or scared.
The 75 Pro is like 90% of what I want out of a quad. What about stepping down to a 75 whoop? Have you tried the Fractal frames?
Thanks for taking the time to respond and all the information!

@@Greg__K You`re welcome. I understand you well with the prop guards! I feel the same. Another thing you can try is 75mm 1002 22k (with direct soldered motors) (with fractal frame or with another frame it doesen`t matter to much). 75 1002 22k has more power than the 75 Pro. And also flies very stable and consistent outdoors. And otherwise if you really fly mainly freesyle then there would be the option to build a kabab 3inch 1S tootpick. It is also not intimidating for most people because it is very quiet and has a pleasant tone. I just wouldn't fly directly around people with this one. But as long as you keep some distance from people, a kabab tootpick might be best for you. A kabab 3inch 1S tootpick is quiet and has very good power and efficiency! The reason why I don't fly is because I mainly fly through obstacles quickly and occasionally crash. I hardly ever do freestyle in open terrain. Regarding fractal frame: I've never flown one. It's a little too heavy for me. But overall it's a solid option. It's something you can definitely try. I hope this helps you

@@butterflyfpv I'm probably going to end up doing both a 75mm whoop build with some 1002's and then a toothpick of some sort. I was dead set on doing a 3" build, but I'm now kinda drawn to the idea of using a 85-95mm sized frame using the 2015 props with the 1002 motors for that.
I'm figuring out that I like to do the more "racing" sort of freestyle... I just love that feeling of going fast. That's the best part for me. So the 75 Pro weight is probably the problem? Going down to 75mm with 1002 should be relatively the same power, but significantly lighter?
Thanks again for all the info. I feel more confident now with where I want to go with future builds. Appreciate it.

@@Greg__K 1002 with 2015 is not as efficient as 1002 with 40mm Props. But if you like floaty flying then you will like 1002 with 2015 Props (you can find some videos of 1002 with 2015 on my channel). Regarding weight: Weight is not a problem per se. It's even good for wind. I would say just try it out. But let me tell you one thing: There is no such thing as a whoop who can do everything at the top level. And there isn't a whoop that flies better than everyone else. They all fly a little differently. But you have to fly them all. (Daily) Practice remains the most important.
