Great approach. For the submariner I’d go with the Christopher Ward C60 Pro 300. I have the Submariner 16610, Explorer II 16570, Tudor BB58, Speedmaster 3861, Zenith Defy Ceramic black, and a few other great timepieces, and this CW is a serious contender at a fraction of the price. With a Formex rubber bracelet and carbon clasp is 10/10 wrist presence satisfaction.

Good to know. I Feel lucky picking up a excellent condition c63 sealander for 500$ usd yesterday. I believe that is the same watch as the c60 but a different bezel, am I correct.
This feels like the twilight zone after stumbling onto your video. Too strange. 1.My name is also David. 2. I own an SRPD in black, first automatic watch. 3. I just purchased a 3861 H as this was a very big year. 4. And I was looking at a Cartier Santos Dumont a few days ago.... How did you do that??? Cheers!
Interesting with the skx pick. I just got a seiko mini turtle black recently, and after upgrading to an aftermarket bracelet I have to say it’s about as cool a watch as I’d ever need. The cyclops date only makes it seem more sub-like coincidentally
Great video again I live in London Uk so i replaced my Rolex sub and gmt with a seiko turtle king Padi black dial with baby blue markers and it’s a great well built watch and I just bought the seiko tortoise land on the oyster bracelet green bezel with the hulk dial wears more like a 40mm due to the lugs being 42mm lug to lug also another great alternative I also owned the seiko skx and the seiko 5 skx gmt but the quality like you said was terrible, definitely worth paying the extra and getting a turtle and you won’t be getting your wrist chopped off for them :) hope your well David 🙌🏼
Wow quite the Seiko collection! I like it. Yes I hear it's not a good idea to wear an expensive watch in London. Last time I visited I brought my Hamilton. Luckily in Zürich this isn't something you have to worry about.
@@watchcraft Zürich lovely place & yes your so lucky it’s sad really we have to think about what watch we wear given the surroundings & up untill a year ago I would be wearing my Rolexes anywhere and everywhere but for me not worth it now so I got the Hamilton khaki 38mm automatic absolutely great watch as your mechanical aswell love the b blast look on it and I got the seiko turtle bug abit but that’s it for me and seiko now, speedmaster next maybe for me stunning watch
you're a funny guy :) and actually make many valid points. i would, however, NOT agree the seaq is a 'watered down' sub. in fact, you get MORE for your money, even considering rolex's brand etc. especially for the panorama date version. good call on all recommendations though.
You copped out on the Sub option. But I agree with the other alternatives. Another Day Date alternative is the Odysseus. Either the white gold version or the stainless steel.
day date alternative does not have a day or date. it is a great watch though. have a good one.
Right 😄
great video, but the Cartier cannot be an alternative to the day date. An alternative must have a day and a date on it!

Good call. I have a 16610 as well. One of the best Subs ever.

I like your sense of humor, you 've got my subscribe after this , and yes I dont like Rolex , I love Japanese brands!
You copped out on the Sub option. But I agree with the other alternatives. Another Day Date alternative is the Odysseus. Either the white gold version or the stainless steel.
Yes thoutght about that one too, but I wanted to limit it to yellow or rose gold.
odysseus is more difficult to get and costlier than daydate.
Stirring the Zenith pot hasn’t gotten old yet😂
For a Sub alternative how about the JLC Polaris?
High watchmaking, its own style, and slightly cheaper than the Sub.
Bought a Sub for my newborn son. I am wearing Seiko SKX013 as daily. So I agreed with you on that 100%
Was piqued about your handle name. Thought you had a cooking channel with watch wrist shots or something 😄
Interesting video, David. Thanks
You should of mentioned grand seiko
Zenith is way better than moon watch for a Daytona comparison.
Rolex makes us FOOLS , rolex advertise watch that cant be bought in AD retailers
Tudor?
Go cheap on all why only for sub
