At first it might be “okay” but that doesn’t mean it stays that way. Make sure that you are “in tune” with the Holy Spirit so that if he is telling you to stop it, you hear it.
I don't know if you will see this, but I feel the same way about alcohol. Someone having a small drink is okay, however, I don't have a small drink because I don't know when to stop. I just stay away from it. The same would go for gambling. If you can't control it, then stay away from it. If probably is better to stay away form anything that the world considers to be sinful. Just my 2-cents.

I used only that and made 50 dollars on it. Not once over the course of the night did I put in my own money, just what came with the ticket to a show. I’ve always been taught that gambling is evil, but I’m looking for truth here. I don’t know what to think. I think I kept it well in check, in that I immediately cashed out once the 10 free play dollars were used, even though I’d gained 50 and could have kept going. I tithed on the 50 this morning in church, and I am trying to be very careful in my thoughts toward it so I don’t return often or become addicted. If gambling truly is sinful I don’t want to participate, but I struggle to find the sin in using a voucher from a ticket and making 50 dollars off of it at a slot machine.

John 10:27. Thou shalt not covet. Exodus 20:17g. Is this not clear to the readers who profess to be Christians? If not then the word of God says, test your own hearts to see if you are saved. 2sd Corinthians 13:5. Romans 8:5-8. John 12:47-48.
You know I liked playing poker on my phone and played it a few times as a kid with my siblings with candy. My family mentioned sittin' down and playing poker with a 20 dollar throw in. I like the game of poker but it is a game that requires some motivation or consequence. I personally would just like to play a real poker game with my family. I don't care about losing twenty bucks. Let's say if I were to win. It'd be cool if I said dinner was on me and went out to eat or something?
What do you guys think of poker specifically Texas Holdem and people who play it professionally? I'm not talking about any other casino game. Just Texas Holdem. There is variance, but there is also skill, strategy, game theory, probability, equity, hand ranges, combinations, a lot of thinking in the game and you're playing against other people, not the casino. Some people even make a living teaching the game or having a vlog/youtube channel about it. What do you guys think of this? Regardless, like you guys basically said, if it's having a negative impact on you and affecting others negatively and taking time away from you focusing on God, then probably best not to play it.

Has that word been used anywhere else in the bible and if so what word was it translated to in english? I find doing this to be a great tool to help learning the scriptures as a lot of times things can be lost in translation. And words in other languages may not always have a exact match for that word in english.
