    Meds are not for everyone. Only you will ever know if it works for you. Give it time before you make any decision. I was a ball hair away from 50 when I was diagnosed. I was lucky/unlucky enough to navigate life before diagnosis. Your family are your sounding board.

    Sounds wierd but put some Anusol on your tattoo, it contains numbing stuff so you'll hardly feel it
    I dont understand why people dont bother with life insurance, I pay £11 a month for £100k cover, if you put it in a trust your family gets it more or less straight away if the worst should happen.

    • @Bond2025
      @Bond2025 2 місяці тому +1

      You can also buy proper numbing cream for this purpose. I agree with the life insurance and arranging cover, especially if you have a family. The other important thing to do is MAKE A WILL. People never do this and it can cause a lot of complications for relatives. If money is involved, people change, they get greedy, which is why I don't think every problem can be solved by someone wanting to make themselves feel better by collecting money to give to someone. We see it all the time, people asking everyone else to give money so they can pass it on and feel great or look a hero.
      Money means nothing, it doesn't bring someone back and giving a collection is a bit of an insult as they would much prefer family and friends around them who were prepared to help out and do things for them. That is far more important.

  • @amyskippy
    @amyskippy 2 місяці тому +3

    Good on you for trying medication, ignore the people telling you what to do with your own healthcare. People without ADHD cannot understand what it's like to have all the desire, stress, anxiety and self loathing, but being physically unable to actually do the thing that's bothering us. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain, and the modern world doesn't fit well with us.

    • @stuartwilson5536

      Probably already cause by synthesised chemicals of the modern world, but ok, throw some more synthesised non natural existing chemicals on top of that.

    Another passion post…..
    I was eventually diagnosed with adhd after being known thru my childhood in the 80s as the bad behaved hyper kid.
    I strongly believe that that the promotion of any prescribed substance that’s not readily available outside a laboratory, should be completely and utterly banned.
    Be it an advertisement or by any modern social media influencer.
    That should be discussed only behind closed doors with a professional another hours of discussion of what this substance may singly aid with, but also highlight all the other downfalls that come in their plenty compared with what it aids with.
    This is very scary. I appreciate your channel has that part where you’re documenting your journey with certain aspects of your personal life. And that allows us to get to know you better.
    But I really feel strongly about using your influencing to highlight the use of mind altering substances. Not illegals
    My good friend’s son was prescribed adhd coping drugs. As it’s more a fashion than a need. And the doctor is probably on commission anyways. And this encouraged my good friend to try and get a script for himself.
    It didn’t take much persuasion.
    It killed him in less than 6 months.
    His body was not able to cope with this.
    No initial tests and discussion were carried out before this.
    He suffered catastrophic organ failure. Because of the dosage you need to take to uptake the minute portion that acts on you.
    He was a character and a legend in his field.
    But jumped on the bandwagon that this would rejuvenate his life.
    Less than 6 months. That’s how dangerous taking anything that is not found naturally in nature is.
    It’s not the only case of its kind.

    ADHD meds are ok. I've been taking them for over 30 years now. They do help you to do more, but not everything. If you've heard of Executive Dysfuction, it's real and the meds don't completely help with it in most cases, you need to still learn the things that you don't like to do under ANY circumstance, and for those things, you should hire someone to do for you.

    • @amyskippy
      @amyskippy 2 місяці тому +3

      Imagine telling someone with a disability to simply "try this or that" or "try harder". ADHD is a chemical imbalance in the brain, and with the best will in the world can't be cured by working harder or delegating. The tasks that ADHD prevent us from doing can be large or small, and to people without ADHD it looks like we're being lazy, but lazy people don't stress themselves out to the point of exhaustion over things that they simple cannot start or finish.

      @Bond2025 2 місяці тому +2

      @@amyskippy We never had all this years ago, people got on with life and didn't label themselves or their children for various purposes. I know of one person that used to speak to her children in a certain way and behave in a certain way to try and get extra benefits by claiming there was something wrong. If people couldn't do a job, it usually meant they were in the wrong one and were not suited to it, so no amount of tablets would suddenly make them any better or able to do something if they didn't have the required knowledge or ability.
      People like to wallow in self pity a lot these days and seek out others to cling to, it's no good hanging about with people that will drag you down. In the 90s it was fashionable to have an allergy, everyone had them and didn't know why or even why what they were saying was a medical impossibility. It give a lot of lonely people a common purpose and they all used to seek each other out and attend newly formed support groups. Every time someone started a sentence they would say "I'M ........." and state something to get attention. Many made friends and forgot what they were allergic to after a while, or it wore off. The same happens now with various "issues". People cling to something to try and excuse something they can't do or indeed have been doing.
      There is also something known as rotten life syndrome. People who suddenly look around them and become annoyed as they haven't got as much as others, didn't get as far in life and don't have the nice things others have worked hard for and saved for. They think they should be somehow entitled to or deserve that what others have and get really annoyed with the World.
      A lot of people have many problems, but will never admit what they are, so it is much harder to diagnose. Throwing tablets at people is not always the answer. A tablet will not make the cause of that person's problems vanish, the cause will still be there unless they change it.
