Hopefully fusebox are watching and will address issue with top gland plate and door hinges
Great job! Love the honesty and transparency, showing the real challenges makes your content even more valuable.
Wish us luck for the morning mate, 101 downlights to change on 12ft ceilings. The heatshrink is a really nice touch, I've started doing it on domestic to label gas and water bonds, and main earth and tails.
Great video, like the honesty, even though you modified the board aslong as it's doing its job safe and lockable then I don't see a problem with it,you should come on some of the commercial jobs were I've been,in around Birmingham, old steel foundry, steel recycling plants etc ,you definitely be in a shock,it's how companies have there own maintenance guys install thing which is always shocking ,you can definitely see the quality difference between the old and new you took out and the new board the quality isn't there,
1:22 I think I spotted the problem. You've both been at work all day and you look tired and you're just starting another project that's how mistakes are made.
The Schneider sliders are best boards mate acti 9
I’ve spent many a night shift DB change after a normal shift in the day…. Sometimes it has to be done and sometimes things go wrong but at the end of the day you learn, you head to the next one and you don’t do it again. Fair play to you for being honest and on a tidy job
10:07 you jammed the board up against the other board and the door wouldn’t go on and/or open. As soon as I saw it was a FuseBox TPN board that’s what I thought it would be. Ask me how I know lol 😂 guess I’ll need to watch to the end to see if I’m right.
I noticed that too and I was thinking the same on clearance for the door. I think they need to modify hinges so it open in same manner as kitchen cabinet hinges.
Should have gone with a Acti9 Isobar Distribution Board, 250A You wouldn't have had the problem.Pay for quality and not cheapest
schnider boards the door has a slight overhang on the hindge. eaton boards are the only ones i know off that are to mount flush next to something
@@scottsparky1 yes I would say eaton all the way for commercial/industrial
Eaton memshield 3 db be my choice
Schneider also acceptable
Could you not have removed the gland plate on top of old board with everything still attached & cut out top of new board to allow old top plate to be attached.
I was thinking 2 myself I wouldn't butt up that close. But ya know idea the lid would be an issue till the end of the video. Great video nick really enjoyable to watch
Personally I like to keep a gap between consumer unit and dist boards anyway
Nice work. Think most people would have taken the same course 9f action given the time constraints and space you have to play with
Just fit eaton. It’s fit for purpose, to be honest fuse box boards just look ridiculous fitted anywhere expect a house. It screams cheap and nasty.
I figured it out! You realised you guys should have been plumbers??❤
I live doing over night shut down look at the door it looks to be universal there should of been a hinge kit that come with it for those type of boards for that reason
Fair play for uploading your f'ups.
You're looking well too Bunders lad! 💪
When your fitting new to old, you always assemble the new fully and offer it up , specs change over the years. Simple basic rule.
That’s the skill Nick, when things don’t go right, how do you overcome it, nice work around I think.
I miss all that rippijg stuff out. For an rewire i remberbthe fun of all the scrap
Flat head screwdriver and a hammer, lock nuts fly off
This has got me sweating now. I recently installed a Fusebox TPN board with trunking running down either side. I removed the door before install as it had a whacking big dent in it and have yet to receive and fit the new door (The board is currently not live btw!) The trunking is only spaced off by the width of a 32mm lock ring! I am hoping that I installed 3 inch trunking and not 4 inch otherwise I think I might have the exact same problem as you :S
The door panel can be, flip a round by the company to work
It’s a common fix with most 3ph commercial boards ….. take door off then cover plate …. And turn cover plate round ….. you will never see a spark in a wholesales asking for a FB that opens to left or right
Never had a Unilite product last the entire job yet, always run out an 1/4 of the way in
Great video Nick oops but fair play to you for showing mistakes mate 👍 👏 😉 👌
I’ve got dry mouth as a side effect as well, I’m constantly drinking water or whatever; have you tried biotene mouthwash for your dry mouth?
I'm 10:26 into the vid I'm going to guess with it being tight up to the left, there's not going to be any room for the door to swing open? Well see 🙂
yep, called it. I only noticed it because I've done EXACTLY the same thing before 🤣🤣
Nice neat work inside the board as well though. Carry on 🙂
Good video mate
Can’t get fuse box cover back on ?
Aww stuff happens 😊good video
I enjoyed the video
Probably better to start fitting other make than that Fusebox...
roofing bolts for banjos... don't think it was your horse mate ;) I use M5 bolts nuts and starlok washers
@@tomorichard not really i got em cheap ;) and they give better torque than roofing bolts. If i was really fancy i'd use brass ones :D
Hey Adam, what size of Nox hoodie do you wear? I wanna get one
Nope would never leave the old DB up and fix the new one to it.
What was wrong with the old board?
Customer had had issues with multiple mcbs and had been in for years, they had requested it to be swapped out
No lock off on the Main panel either
We were in full control of the building. A lock off is required where a energisation may occur out of your control, we were 1ft away at all times
Also i was waiting for a "huge" fiseboard....
Nice idea but no. Your better to get rid of the old board 100%
Every day is a school day 👏👍
I enjoy your videos fun to watch and I learn a lot thank you
NB I really like your content, your care and attention when on jobs, but when working with others you become a bit cocky, mitch has you working out of your comfort zone, don't compensate by making fun of him - he seems like a good guy (as you are) no hate here just a onlooker giving you some constructive feed back mate.
Its called friendly banter, workmates take the P out of each other as a show of affection
Real World Plumbing opps Electrical. 😂
You won't be to open lid😢
late one
also 1st
Nick. Why release this vid at this time on Sunday night? Sam and Jamie doing live stream. Do it earlier
You won't be to open lid😢
Great job. I used to love doing overnight shutdown work, the silence when you isolate, the thrill when you pass the point of no return, the spurious noises you hear in the empty factory, having a brew at 3am. Shneider are my favourite boards.
in domestic it's like 'you can't shut it down,. i'm on a call!'.... *clunk* no you aren't
