I love that you keep things simple and traditional and don't try to tamper with classics like some chefs. if it isn't broke don't fix it. This type of cooking/baking is how my nan and mum cook..... taste of my childhood which is always the best food.
My son always asked a homemade apple pie for his 'birthday cake' every year. He was happy as a clam when I made him one. I always tried to make several throughout the year. Cake for my daughter and brownie for my hubby. We aren't traditional about some things in our family. I, however, eat whatever dessert is nearby. (My hips agree.)

Thanks John , it looks wonderful . I’m going to give it a go - fingers crossed , as I’m gluten free so hopefully it turns out ( the apples will be successful anyway ) . I make your gluten free white bread at least once a week and have done so since you first aired it , and it is great . I also bake your fruit loaf ( I tweaked it a little for gluten free ) weekly and that is wonderful also . You are a great cook John and your presentation is the best I’ve seen .

Made this at home the other day, I realized that I didn't want to roll out 4 pies, but just one pie, Surprisingly, this recipe is perfect for one pie, or four smaller pies. Thanks Mate and cheers from across the pond... Hi John. Any plans for bread made in an airfryer? I tried to adapt one of your bread roll recipe and baked it in the airfryer but they were a bit tougher than the normal oven rolls. Great videos BTW.

Yet another one to try to make, no doubt adding more damage to my "girlish figure"....LOL.........love the way you show how easy what one would normally think are difficult bakes really aren't. Could quite catch the types of apples you recommended for these pies, I like to use Granny Smiths for either making baked apple or to add to a tossed green salad as they have a nice tart taste to them, would they work with this pie recipe?

Thanks John , it looks wonderful . I’m going to give it a go - fingers crossed , as I’m gluten free so hopefully it turns out ( the apples will be successful anyway ) . I make your gluten free white bread at least once a week and have done so since you first aired it , and it is great . I also bake your fruit loaf ( I tweaked it a little for gluten free ) weekly and that is wonderful also . You are a great cook John and your presentation is the best I’ve seen .

Made this at home the other day, I realized that I didn't want to roll out 4 pies, but just one pie, Surprisingly, this recipe is perfect for one pie, or four smaller pies. Thanks Mate and cheers from across the pond... Yet another one to try to make, no doubt adding more damage to my "girlish figure"....LOL.........love the way you show how easy what one would normally think are difficult bakes really aren't. Could quite catch the types of apples you recommended for these pies, I like to use Granny Smiths for either making baked apple or to add to a tossed green salad as they have a nice tart taste to them, would they work with this pie recipe?
