Try out Persona 4 Golden as well if you have the time. One of the best JRPGs on the PS Vita, and it's available on a few different platforms for dirt cheap.

It's only the western industry that is in such decay.
There are really only a handful of genuinely bad Japanese AAAs:
Metal Gear Survive is probably the only truly terrible one with no redeeming qualities.
Most Sonic games would fit here, but some of the worst ones are made in the US.
Street Fighter VI arguably does as well.
Balan Wonderworld is one more recent example.

Give yourself some space to feel what you need to feel though. Finding comfort in gaming is fine, distracting yourself from the pain is just pushing it away. It will come back. Just saying don’t binge all day to numb yourself, it won’t help as much as you think if at all.

as someone who’s only played persona, the SMT games dont appear as stylish or polished as the persona games. idk what the major differences are but my fav part of persona is the social links and day to day sim, story/characters. the combat is meh imo. is SMT better?

@@thugbutter Where Persona is more stylized/story driven, SMT is more technical/combat driven. Persona isnt better per se, but more accessible. SMT is purposefully grindy and all about min/maxing.

@@thugbuttersmt leans more towards environmental storytelling and gameplay, it heavily emphasises world building and religious themes over style. Grinding is absolutely optional, as there are many strategies and weaknesses that you can exploit by making use of smt's press turn systems.
Also they named the main character Charlie Tunoku from @GiantBomb endurance run of Persona 4. Guess they were a fan of that series like me.

Having only played persona royal and persona 4 golden this is a whole new game for me to enjoy. I'm really looking forward to this reboot of a game that was very dated.

Better review than the infamous SMT V review where the reviewer didn't even seem to know what game they were playing and who felt compelled to let everyone know SMT V wasn't Persona 5. Get more people like this who have familiarity with this type of game to review these games.

SMTP3FES is easily my favourite game in the series. This Reload just might go to top of my shopping list.
