I really like that Turtle Wax soap, I haven't touched any of my other soaps since I got my first jug of it and now on my 2nd. I detailed my new to me truck today, my neighbours probably thought I was crazy - it was snowing a bit.
Does that leave anything behind or is it PH neutral soap? Thx

Great video Chelsea. There is something quite honoring when a customer allows you to detail something they care so much about. I'm not far from you, in Berks Co. How do you manage to stay warm in the frigid temps we've been experiencing lately? Working outside this week has been miserable. 🤣🤣
Yes it has been. Warm layers and waterproof lined gloves definitely help.

Of all my detailing gear my luxury microfiber drying towel exactly like the one in this video is hands down my favorite. So satisfying to dry my Honda crv in under a minute. Then tidy up with a regular microfiber.
I use a coin up wash and sometimes I wish I could walk over to the next guys car and dry theirs... And the next car...
I never wring it out.

That pad is based on the Incredimitt and Incedipad by Microfiber Madness. Try them, you'll find they are superior washing tools.
And no marring after clay!! I’m definitely doing something wrong. Do you prefer clay bar over clay mitt?
Depends on the job. If polishing a user vehicle then clay towel as it’s faster. If new vehicle or no polishing then a clay bar as it’s the least aggressive

Great video as usual. I am wanting to buy the Koch Chemie Active Foam and if I ever need it to be stronger, can always add a little bit of KC Green Star to raise the PH. That clay towel on your bucket, is that from The Rag Company? Thanks for sharing!!!
Yes. Active foam is actually their gentle foam soap with Green Star in it. The next level up is their Super Foam which is 12.5 on the pH scale
Always have liked using Meguiars Gold Class in a foam Cannon and follow up with a 2 bucket wash. Was Curious on some VW's the paint is very hard, what combo has been successful in doing a mild paint correction on hard VW paint (pure white in particular). Thanks for your time👍

What do you think about the gauntlet drying towels vs the one you used in this vid?
It’s a great towel but I think the sucker is a little more absorbent but the gauntlet is softer so they both have their pros
Couple things I feel threw me off about this process vs. what I’ve learned. Clay bar without polish? Drying without using the protection as lubricant? Or is the particular job not for a customer concerned with micromarring?
You can clay bar without polishing. Some are just overly cautious about inducing swirls on paint but my customers rarely even see swirls. By washing and rinsing first and then using a highly lubricating soap it did not marr the paint. And you CAN dry with a drying aid but don’t necessarily need to if you are putting on more durable protection as the base layer sets the foundation and I didn’t want a weak layer of protection on top of stronger protection. There was no additional micro marring but the paint was already swirled up and customer didn’t want a polish package at this service. I’d rather have a decontaminated surface and remove rust and give my protection a better chance of bonding with the clear even if it has minor swirls than never decon the paint because you’re afraid of scratching the paint and your protection doesn’t last because there’s so much bonded contaminants on the surface.
Chelsea, did you use a drying towel to apply the sealant? If so, is this a typical practice for you? Do you use Pearl at full strength on your tires? Thx for the video!
No I used two dedicated towels to apply the sealant and the tire dressing is cut 1:1

What dilution do you use with the Turtle Wax Pure Wash? I use it as well with a Luxury Microfiber wash pad but I don't get suds like that whatsoever. I use a Chemical guys 4 and a quarter gallon bucket with about 3 gallons of water and have used as much as 2.5oz of Pure Wash. Anything more and it re-activates like crazy and makes it very hard to rinse
I just do a quick pour, I don’t measure it. But I don’t use much

Hmm that’s a close one. FCC is pretty heavy cutting but cut max might be able to finish down better

Hi Chelsea - Love all your videos. Quick question. If the world was ending and you could only take ONE wheel-tire cleaner with you, which brand would take.
Well that’s a hard one. First I have so many questions. If the world was ending I am pretty sure I wouldn’t be driving off into the apocalyptic sunset or taking Detailing supplies with me but to just choose ONE wheel tire cleaner that’s hard…does it have to be one product for both surfaces?
