- Review of the Godin Core CT P90 electric guitar. This video covers the build material, components, and demos the two Seymour Duncan P90 pickups, with a little history about these pickups.
The guitar is run through a Fender Twin Reverb RI to test the clean tones. The reverb is on. The guitar is then run through a Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee head into a 2x12 cab. The first setting has early break up with the guitar volume rolled down, and the second setting is with the gain cranked for a heavy rock sound. Both cabs have a Sennheiser e906 mic on them.
This is a beauty, it's a shame, that Godin doesn't produce it anymore. 😔
Spanish cedar is (well, according to Wiki, a close relative) a mahogany. As strange as it sounds, it is a name for particular family of mahogany-like trees, growing in Central/South America, nothing to do with Spain or with cedar.
10:17 as soon as I heard that I was like HELL YES!!! I bought a black one today because I somehow managed to talk the guy down to a great price. I’ve been biting my nails all day wondering if I did the right thing. But I’ve been so hyped on Godin as since I learned about them as soon as I saw the guitar on reverb..
I just got that felling I get when it’s guitar I know I’m going to love forever.
Also my life has drastically changed when I realized I’m a short scale kind of dude. Next on my radar I want to sell one of my current guitars and by a Radiator.
I’m Alright That’s awesome! I’m glad the video helped!
Great video man! Beautiful guitar, and excellent demo!
Raw Sugar Thanks man! Appreciate the comment!!
I have a Godin Core and love it. I'm in my 70's and the small, lightweight body and huge sound make it amongst my favorites in my collection.
Nice review...but Godin has already discontinued the Core series. Not sure why. Worth mentioning that this guitar has PCB-pots which are not reliable and difficult to replace :-(
Great review!!
Curtis Hansen Thank you!!
I need to get a guitar again do you see them looks like it.
I wonder how this compares to the icon 3 p90...
I am privileged to own the Icon Type 3 and it is AMAZING! I also own a Gibson ES335 and an Epiphone Les Paul Std. The Godin blows them both away. I could not wish for a better sounding or more versatile guitar. The Lolar P90's are incredible. My next guitar will be another Godin for sure :-)
I tried the Icon Type 3. It sounds very different. The Lollar P90s in the Icon Type 3 are a different construction than most P90s. The Core sounds better with distortion, IMO, but the Core does not have good clean tones.
All they need to to do is put stainless frets on it and I’d buy 5 if I could.
How did it stay in tune?
From all accounts, Godin guitars are robust and stay in tune. (In this video, it was not tuned properly...)
Godin are terribly under rated guitars .
Jeff Hebert I fully agree!
Your mother is terribly
I didn't hear enough rocking to buy it.
I agree with you on their customer service. They have been amazing over the years with quick responses and going above and beyond. Especially since they are one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the world.
I have been looking for a LP type guitar for a few years. I was not aware the Godin made these. I am very impressed and thanks for the demo. It was great.
Just saw this now; way to jam some Working Man!! Fabulous guitar, running out to look at one tomorrow.
That is sweet…
Tusk nut???
As in elephant tusk???
If so, no thanks. I won't support ivory trade.
TUSQ nut made by Graph Tech. It is not ivory.
Tusq not bone, Tusq is a brand name of man made bone nuts and saddles.
I think the dot inlays are baby seal eyes too.
@@cerisejones8061 YES ! haha
