The fact that at 5-7 she thought she had to eat in order to get bigger and stronger to be able to fight off the man that was molesting her is absolutely heartbreaking.

I think the primary reason for her eating back then was probably to make herself feel better momentarily, like every other person who eats too much. it probably did help her to fight back (carrying fat around builds muscle) and it's quite likely that it made her less attractive to him. I think her weight probably did spare her a lot of abuse, but she's mostly giving that as the reason for her eating habit because "I gained weight to fight off the rapist" feels like a better reason than "I developed a food addiction because eating made me feel better". though I do think it's plausible that she was aware very early on that she could gain weight by eating a lot, and that it would help her fight harder.

@@JordanP. You’re wrong, there is no way that a 5-7 year old girl believes that she can fight off a grown man. Im not a psychologist and even I know that she was eating as a coping mechanism. Think about it; her mother nor her father was there to protect her at 5 years old, that must be devastating and extremely confusing. Food clearly became something as a coping tool….Lastly if you watch enough of these videos of severely obese people you’ll find that many of them are ashamed and most of them have some form of denial and they try to minimize their behaviors when they get a chance.

Based on physcology it is actually known that the reason people gain weight mentally is a way to protect themselves from others. Weight gain covers up your sexual organs and thusly your sexual appeal for most research it. Most obese people were infact abused as children and food is basically a drug it gives the release of oxytocin or serotonin in the brain. When your an adult and this occurs from a traumatic event narcotics and substances do the same.

Why is no one talking about how almost all of the people on this show were molested at a very young age and used food to escape that. Obviously that’s going to seriously affect someone for their entire life. It’s not your place to judge someone who has been through something like that.
Edit: You do not know this person. What makes you think it’s okay to just blurt out how you feel about her situation. Your opinion does absolutely nothing to help her.
Edit: Some of these replies are not it…. You don’t just comment your opinion about the life of someone you don’t even know. And then claim you’re “concerned for their health”. If you were genuinely worried about this woman and her children’s health, you would be trying reach out to her privately. The way that some people will say such harsh things, but in a way that makes it seem sincere is sickening. If you haven’t been through the exact same situation as this woman then you should keep your mouth shut. I am not justifying anyone or anything but the fact that your opinions need to be kept to yourselves. You know that saying everyone is taught as a kid “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it.”. This is a perfect place to practice that for those of you who never grasped the concept of it. It is not her fault that being repeatedly drugged and raped at five years old affected her this way. Why would you ever think it’s okay to make someone feel guilty for their trauma? These comments make me so sad.
(Edit) It kinda seems like a lot of the people who replied didn’t bother to read the whole comment.
I’m not forcing you to change your opinion, I’m simply sharing mine.

It’s so important to break those cycles of abuse and trauma. The importance of giving your kids attention, love, time, and effort. Most importantly don’t trust your kids around nobody. Her daughter doesn’t deserve to have all that responsibility she’s so beautiful with a life ahead of her. It’s understandable helping your parents but not to the point of being a second caregiver or helper especially if your mother has children that they are meant to tend for and care for not the siblings.

First of all I counsel people for free all the time because I care. This is the first time I'm seeing this
If I knew her email address or could text her I would. We don't see everything. They are not going to say she was molested as a child that she felt gaining weight would stop the abuse. Yes she need to talk about it. The reason I quit putting my info down was because I got all kinds of crazy e mails and calls all times of night. Some would be drunk just wanted me to talk to them. I have a family. It's not that i minded talking. I've seen more than you know. It's not just those with food, or other additions, I've made friends i still talk to. Those with chronic conditions ect. We all.go through things. It help knowing someone care. Nobody list their personal info. Times have gotten crazy. I've had issues with people wanting to see where I live, what I look like, some even ask for money. Do you know how many scams are out there. I stopped putting my info out there. If a person is not in my contact my phone will not accept calls, some even say scams. It's not like you can call dr niles office say hey I would like to help this person. You will probably get hung up.on reported as a stalker, or worse. Unless you know the law, there is certain things you can't do. This country is still in the middle of a pandemic. Who knows how old these shows are. Some be from 2 years ago. It's good to give advice. But you don't want to expose people to unwanted trouble. Dr Niles do refer his patience to counseling. For those who need it. Lot of people are hurting right now. You will be suprised at the number of people who abuse others kindness. Nobody want to put thier family in danger. Covid is not over. I have a family. People have been rude, nasty and ugly. Hopefully by now this young woman has talked to someone. It's every parent responsibility to talk about abuse, what is not suppose to happen. We have a open door policy. Our children can tell us anything. They have books about thier bodies. What is wrong. We have never kissed our children on thier lips. Children have been being abused since I was a child. They get threatened, bullied at school. Know your child, teach them what is right and what is not. Many don't know what sexual abuse is unless you have told them what nobody is suppose to do and not do. What make me mad is grown men sexually abusing children. A child body is not made for sexual abuse. The damage, physically, mentally is a life time struggle. You can't trust nobody anymore. Family members abuse, prey on children. They are sick, demented people. It's a parents job to teach thier children. Nobody should violate them. We fail as parents if we don't talk to our children. Watch our children check thier bodies. Mines do not sit on nobody's lap. We are a family that has faith, Believe in Father God of most high. I know what is out there. If you see a child acting weird, afraid to be hugged something is wrong. That being said. Peace, love, respect, positivity and Blessings to you..🧘‍♀️🙌🌻🌷🙏🦋🌠🙂👋. Nj.

Most of the time that I ate huge quantities of food I wasn't hungry and I didn't even have cravings I just had this compulsion to open the fridge and devour everything. - It's also ridiculous (to attest to my last point) that this is the work of anyone except for herself. She is the one who put in all the effort. If she didn't, she'd die of obesity. The idea that it was given to her to anyone besides herself due to the tremendous amount of self control and effort is crazy in itself.

Because biology has nothing to do with morality. Life isn't fair. Murderers die of old age. Children die of illness.. And somehow these people can make it to 600+ lbs while others around the world arent even eating on a daily basis!

@@hardcandyland No I finished the video but what I mean is none of it was supposed to happen from the beginning, that poor girl has already lost her childhood, no taking back the trauma already caused by the mother. However it’s great that she’s getting it together now, at least the little daughter won’t suffer as much as her older sister.

Why do some men think they can destroy a person's entire life just for their own sexual gratification? Aren't there prostitutes you can pay that would be willing to do anything? Leave children alone. I don't understand why molesting children is so prevalent. Can a man please explain this?

An 11 year old should not be raising a 9 month old because her mother cares more about food than her own children...most of these people are pretty pathetic...it's one thing to have no respect for yourself...but to then have children and foster your negligence onto them is totally disgraceful...
