Shaping my Girls a Surfboard out of a Broken Longboard

- When my friend Aidan broke my longboard, I couldn't just let it go to waste. So I shaped a board for my daughters from the foam of the nose of the longboard.

awesome story. great way to recycle old boards. win. win. win. when I was a grom fifty years ago we would find an old broken long board in the trash (probably a classic ) and do this same idea but definitely not to this level. we would fight over who got the tail section with the fin. it was harder to make and glass a fin on. the life guards at the time were like mentors and would help us with the fiberglassing. we had green resin and heavy boat cloth and what a finish that would produce. lol

And the paint is so nice for little girls.

Great fun! I've only shaped & glassed one board & it was for my "little girl" but she was in college LOL. You'll never forget the sound of those little voices so treasure every day with them! Have fun and stay safe!

Awesome stuff there Kai. Great that you're getting those girls out there and doing it. I had my kids out an early age back in NZ, and they enjoyed it. Yeah those experiemental boards give you a whole new perspective. Keep up the great work...Life is full of opportunities, you just gotta take them, pōmaikaʻi.
