Neither my husband or nor son can do exercises that I can do. Men don't have the flexibility. Back in the day (the 80's), the men were on the weights side and the women were on the aerobics side of my gym at the time. But I started going over to the men's side and the men started coming over to the women's. My back and shoulders got so strong and I built up my small calves and made my legs more shapely.
That last guy was the closest to way they carry their head through the flip but he folded himself. I keep rewatching the video to see what he did that made him collapse. This has to be one of the elements they do because of the way they carry their body and head through the flip. It’s honestly one of the most mesmerizing things to watch. It’s so beautiful ❤
So cool seeing the dichotomy between men and women in gymnastics. Women are graceful and dextrous and men are strength and power forward. These differences make it all so interesting :D
I guess I forget some guys don’t really learn things like side or front aerials, I mean there isn’t really a need for them but just surprises me. Saying that even though they tried to teach me I was also never flexible enough for any of this🤣
Not going to lie, if you see my dumb ass trying this, go ahead and get the c-collar ready and get the ambulance on its way. What these ladies do is nothing short of amazing and they make it look so easy as they casually just flip with out their hands touching the ground.
Why does so many people in the comment section seem butt hurt? It's almost like they can't accept women might me better at something. Why take the video so seriously? They're not trying to prove anything..
'making it look easy' is a result of..training something for a long time. Consider that you would have the same impression if you watched women try men's gymnastics - but much more strongly, I think. If male gymnasts (idk what level) making pretty decent attempts at difficult moves from 'women's gymnastics' looks to you like 'fighting for their lives' I have to wonder what you'd make of a video like this one you can see on youtube, 'girls try men's gymnastics ft. shawn johnson' from the channel tc2. In it, you see a female OLYMPIC gymnast looking ridiculous trying to skin the cat on still rings with bent knees (a very basic move, I can do it for reps with straight legs, much harder). See my experience of watching that video is different to yours watching this: I assume these 'accurate' and 'fluid' moves you cannot do yurself. I see the girls in this video incl. an OLYMPIC gymnast unable to do things that I, a guy who could barely do push-ups a year ago and hadn't touched rings a few months ago, can do for REPS (no diss to the girls on the channel, they have tons of videos of stuff I can't do - I was just shocked to see how weak a female elite gymnast was)
@@helvete_ingres4717 kinda like skating; men can do a lot more tricks but it still looks like they’re struggling with the routine while women look like they’re born with this talent. Of course they will not do better in hoisting their partners while skating but over all I think gymnastics and skating are better represented by women. I admire the grace of said routines vs the difficulty of them but it is men who do set the standard in these sports.
@@joad8537 you think male professional figure skaters look like they're 'struggling' (idk how to argue against 'it looks like this to me', it's subjective) yet you acknowledge the things they do are more difficult (calling them 'tricks') - I don't think a female figure skater will ever do a quadruple axel, male skaters have done that. Could say the same of basically anything you see a male gymnast do in competition, on rings on floor, whatever. You 'think gymnastics and skating are better represented by women' even though you acknowledge men are basically..better at them? It really shouldn't look like men are 'struggling' in sports b/c the male body really is much better optimised for movement (at least the 'gross' kind, as in gross motor skills ie. pretty much everything in sports) - narrow pelvis means legs pump like pistons not this awkward waddling motion of the female hip/thigh joint - , run faster, jump higher, all that good stuff. Speaking of 'struggling', did you look at the video i mentioned? I want you to look at that female OLYMPIC gymnast (idk what her event was) on the gymnastics rings and tell me where is the 'accuracy', 'fluidity' or 'pure beauty'. You just buy into this romanticising of women and put it onto sports
Both have trained so specifically for their type of gymnastics, that when they switch, it’s like trying to throw with your off hand. You know what you’re supposed to do, it just doesn’t come out right
Most people do not understand the mechanical differences in the male and female bodies. The difference in hip motion and movement alone causes most of these differences.
Also, most people don't understand the difference between trained and untrained. Those men were able to improve quickly at those routines because everyone in the video is a gymnast. If you take any random woman off the street, they would perform at they guy's level or worse. That is because a trained person is very different from an untrained person. If those men and women were given the same routines to practice their entire gymnast careers, they would perform at the same level.
@EctoPhantasmagoria yes but there'd still be some level of difference in the balance and/or how it's achieved/performed. It varies. But training can get you to that point. However some of these maneuvers even if trained, are harder to achieve
I applaud you guys for doing this. I didn't realize there was such a difference between male and female gymnastics, as an outsider. I think that some of the female moves require more back flexibility. I learned about that in ballet.

Yay anatomy and differences in gender!
The grace and elegance these women have is crazy. They make it look so smooth and effortless
Really liking this series of trying the other gender gymnastics techniques and how clearly it shows the different applications of power and control between the two.
“Someone spot him” was both practical and a roast
My toxic trait is that I think I can do something after watching someone
Me, but the someone is me from 5 years ago
Maybe work on that a little bit? :D
I'll hold your bear
Nah I took one look at that and told myself no-
My intrusive thoughts: do you thing a car could fit on a beam?
@@ryans2024The first step is to acknowledge your issue.
Although I don’t think that trait in particular is that bad so long as they don’t insult other people in any way.
The grace on the last guy despite failing ahhaha oh my god
I swear in every challenge that last guy always finds a way to be folding up like a piece of paper😭
I love this series, it really shows that both sides take a lot of work and should be equally appreciated and respected
Big thing to consider is that men are normally less flexible than women and have a higher center of mass than women do. It’s really cool to see the differences in “specialty” between women and men displayed in gymnastics
The hell are you talking about men have a higher center of mass than women??? A man’s center of mass is ✨lower✨than a woman’s center of mass
I think it’s really interesting how the different skills men and women train in gymnastics really highlights our different strengths and builds :D
That first mount was frickin gorgeous 👌👌
Attempting women’s gymnastics with a man’s center of gravity is no easy task, props for him trying
💯💯
A buddy of mine took gymnastics in high school with the women to be a better athlete.
It's crazy the differences in our bodies.
When he runs to do the front aerial, his feet makes the netflix intro sound😂
The black hair dude tried to look so graceful 💀🤣
The difference between men and women is so pronounced in gymnastics. Women look angelically artistic while men look unhumanly strong.
The ladies look so graceful and the men 😂 I love this series of attempts.
Ik this video is such a cool concept. Hope they do more
I am really enjoying these videos. I didn't realize how much variety there was in gymnastics and how each decision has its own challenges.
Gymnastics in general, men and women is freaking ridiculous! So many years of training and dedication! So much respect
I love this so much
There's such grace to how the women do it, so smooth. No doubt that's what years of practice get ya in refining such movements
I can't wait for the girls to try the male versions
Props to the women for making this look super smooth and easy!
peppa did the death drop 😭😭😭
Now tell them to smile while doing it.
“Smile like a prettty little lady while bending your spine” 😂
I think they were. They were laughing to much not too
female smiling means "i am here, look at me"
male smiling mean "i am here an i am going to choke you out"
@@mentalasylumescapee6389 I think smiling just means smiling dog
@@mentalasylumescapee6389Smile means smile bro. Why you gotta be a cringe edgy kid about basic social etiquette?
I’m a woman gymnast and ngl I was confused at how she did that beam mount too😅
Yea this is nothing to do about mens gymnastics to womens they’ve just
Practiced those moves the men haven’t lol
@@theboyali_gae2062just not true. They are both profis
He folded so elegantly tho 😭
Like a dying swan ✨🌼
The guy who folded actually had beautiful form though!
On the mat exercises the girls are so graceful, meanwhile the guys look like they’re auditioning for the next action movie! Big props to all of them though that’s so intense stuff they’re doing!!!
"Gonna make me skewer myself" LMAOOO
i can't even get out of bed correctly these days 😭
Hahaha
And the girls have to make it look so graceful and pretty for the judges. I’d like to see the guys land so lightly.
Men have the same landing criteria yes?
I've seen a few women in insta recently who are training in mens gymnastics and they're actually doing really well
I love how adorable they look with their first tries, but love when they get it right.
I want to see the women do the men's next. ❤
Its crazy to see the difference in where men and women's center of gravity is
"Someone spot him" got me 😭😂😂
These guys are great sports, no pun intended, lol 😂 They all just seem to be having fun and I’m here for it ✌️
The end got me 😂😂😂😂😂 his body folded like squidwards when he was turning into handsome squidward 😂😂
"but at what cost" 😭🤣
‘Success but at what cost’ killed me 😂💔
the front aerial one is beautiful, the way the rest of the body gracefully follows after the feet land is pretty cool
You could see on the first challenge how hard the guys were trying to keep their future children alive
God I wish I had done gymnastics growing up, shits so cool
That last guy was the closest to way they carry their head through the flip but he folded himself. I keep rewatching the video to see what he did that made him collapse. This has to be one of the elements they do because of the way they carry their body and head through the flip. It’s honestly one of the most mesmerizing things to watch. It’s so beautiful ❤
So cool seeing the dichotomy between men and women in gymnastics. Women are graceful and dextrous and men are strength and power forward. These differences make it all so interesting :D
Amazing how diff men and womens gymnastics is! I had no idea
I guess I forget some guys don’t really learn things like side or front aerials, I mean there isn’t really a need for them but just surprises me. Saying that even though they tried to teach me I was also never flexible enough for any of this🤣
That beam mount is beautiful!!
The big reason is that women and men balance very differently in certain situations. That’s why they have different routines.
This!!!!💯💯
That front aerial is legit scary.
BRO IM OBSESSED WITH THE MOUNT
This is so wholesome 😊 and so in the vein of good sportsmanship.
I can't wait to see the women try the men's routine.
I’m literally crying rn I have definitely had a competition there I remember almost everything in there, and the big half circle window
I find it fascinating how anatomy, physics and just how the body moves.
The front Ariel cleansed my soul.
That front aerial was flawless ❤🎉
“Success! But at what cost?”
“ *your children* “
Not going to lie, if you see my dumb ass trying this, go ahead and get the c-collar ready and get the ambulance on its way. What these ladies do is nothing short of amazing and they make it look so easy as they casually just flip with out their hands touching the ground.
That last one looked painful
Funny to see how different the body is and how it affects the kind of movements one can do. Would be very interesting to have this video in reverse
Why does so many people in the comment section seem butt hurt? It's almost like they can't accept women might me better at something. Why take the video so seriously? They're not trying to prove anything..
It seriously looks like those women fly. It's amazing what gymnasts can do.
The accuracy and fluidity of women in gymnastics is pure beauty. They make it look easy while the men look like they’re fighting for their lives.
And their future childrens' safety ngl
The girl's front aerial was amazing, it looked like gravity got turned off
Both have trained so specifically for their type of gymnastics, that when they switch, it’s like trying to throw with your off hand. You know what you’re supposed to do, it just doesn’t come out right
Can't stop watching, can't stop laughing.
I learned about that in ballet.
that death drop at the end 😭
Such good sports to do that. 🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️
I would love to try both because my center of gravity is as androgynous as the rest of me lol
Gymnasts amaze me!! absolutely brilliant and fearless. 💯👏👏👏🌟
