Maybe take the toy collections out of the living room. Then that room would seem more like Cody’s too. The toy collections could go on a floating shelf in one of the bedrooms. Just my humble opinion 😁

The living room is far to cramped. The open shelf pantry would be much better in a closed door cabinet. The huge cat tree replaced with shelves along the walls for the cats they love to be up high watching everything. All the toys and thing in the living room corner are taking up space you could use for more seating space for company. Mount the tv on the wall and get rid of the entertainment system. A day bed in the spare room is a great idea and then you can use underneath for storage bins and make that room less cramped.. Just ideas.

An idea for the fireplace: When we lived in an apartment with a fireplace, I never lit fires in it because the room had white walls, pale beige carpet, and a white brick hearth and fireplace. I didn't want to deal with soot and trying to keep it clean. I bought a large wrought iron candle holder for fireplaces and put battery operated pillar candles in it so that there was the flickering light behind the fireplace grate, for the cozy feeling, but no mess to clean up and no fire to worry about.

We moved from a 2300 sq foot house to a 3,600 sq foot house and my husband and I have extreme OCD so we couldn't go to bed the first night we moved in until the whole house was unpacked, put away and trash removed. It took us about 24 hours but we did it! 🙂 Enjoy your new home!
Thanks for the tour. Don't feel bad that you don't have the place all together yet. It took me about a year to really get things into place and find/buy/thrift the best storage solutions after we moved. We downsized. I donated alot of excess stuff. I just couldn't make it all fit. lol Moving is stressful. I'm so glad that you don't have to drive so far and can spend more time with your loved ones.

Congratulations Kandy and Cody on your new apartment! Kandy I think your toy collection all stacked up on the floor, and against the wall is just too much ! I would try to find somewhere else to store all those toys. There is just to much clutter in the living room , and the bedroom's. I know you apartment is small, maybe you can get a storage unit for some of your things you don't actually use. All that would drive me nuts, I like to see the walls and floor without things sitting on the floor, and stacked up against the walls. You have a cumulated lots of things over the years, sometimes you just have to let things go! 💕

It doesn't look like it, they only have about maybe 4 cabinets so they probably use that for some food, dishes, cleaning supplies, glasses, and other little odds and ends. I think they did the best they could. She literally said the kitchen was tiny.

You do know that you have to treat the carpets etc as fleas lay eggs in carpets and furnishings and remain dormant ready to reinfest. Were there fleas there already or did you just bring em with you?

That is a huge difference on spending money on gas and traveling.
Hi, Kandy. We have a black cat that was losing his fur on his hind end (almost exactly like your kitty). The one solution that has brought him back to a healthy coat was getting a prescription flea med that also treats worms. It is only available with an Rx. He looks like a completely different cat! I wish I could show you a before and after. Please look into it - I know it would work for your kitty, too!

I know it’s not in everyone’s budget, but for about $300 they do make queen trundle beds with a daybed type top. I think I got mine from wayfair.

Wow you have done a lot. It looks great. I just moved also from a two-bedroom apartment into a one-bedroom. And let me tell you I'm 71 next month and this was the hardest move I've ever done. I think tomorrow I'll be able to say I finally got things together. So I know exactly how you feel but it's coming together really nice

Have you took the cat to a vet regarding the awful fleas? She is going to be very unhappy being infested like that. Prescription only flea treatment is much more affective than over the counter stuff. My cat had fleas and the over the counter stuff didn’t work. Took her the vet and the prescription flea treatment worked in a week. Please get her looked at by a vet.

If that's Cody's SON, why would that be a guest room? I mean, I know Cody shares custody with his ex, but his son certainly isn't a guest in his home just because part of the week/month, he has another room in another home. I'm sure his room at his mom's house isn't a guest room... or is it? Damn, I just thought of that. Poor child, if that's the case. Made to be a guest in both his parent's homes 😒
I thought the same. The son should be able to name that room his own. I feel like Kandy is very overbearing. She got it in her head she wants to do a DIY project and is forgetting it's the sons space. 😢
