  • Recording from a type 1 cassette tape.
Due to Cousin Brucie leaving siriusXM and going back to 77 WABC. I thought it would be appropriate to upload this Aircheck of him at WABC on 2-28-68.
Here is the Full aircheck with the music on archive.org: archive.org/de...

OMG!! I remember listening to Cousin Brucie on a green plastic AM radio that my grandma bought for me from a lady who was moving from NY. I was 7 or 8 years old. I’m 60 now and still think about the good times before the world turned crazy. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE GOOD MEMORIES!! God Bless !

Cousin Brucie you are a part of rock and roll as Elvis , Chuck Berry , Four Seasons , and the Beatles! Welcome back to WABC where you belong!

Love the clarity of this recording; great job! A great snapshot of the MusicPower era at WABC. The Cuz sounds so young and energetic. Thank You!!!

Great job VK! The cuz back in his heyday. Heard him at night on my transistor radio in the 60s & 70s right after the Dan Ingram Show !! Thanks Victrola King

"Tommy gun" rapid fire delivery in 1960's. Today, (WABC radio, Saturday's evening) much slower talk but still genuine.

    Where’s that reverb?

I think it was recorded off the board. The reverb plate machine was at the transmitter site in Lodi, New jersey.

Never knew that. So all the DJs and news were reverb.

Thank God XM radio finally got rid of Cousin Brucie! What a geek, I had to suffer his portrayal of 60's music as geeky music for years! I can finally go back and enjoy it now with Shotgun Kelly without the stigma of goofy Brucie, contaminating it with his silly comments.

I disagree Cousin Brucie is the greatest D J in the history of radio!
