In case you were still wondering, in that Wordsworth poem, Erin's Isle is Ireland. And now you know.

Funny you should mention that, as only the other day I wasn't musing over that very question. 🤔

Your welcome. Some how videos do make it easier to recall the trips than photos, that's why I make them. Seems more real when you watch them......oh and I can force the joy on friends and relatives more easily too!

really nice walk... the waterfall scramble was stunning. Can see why you chose to get a static there. Looking forward to seeing more videos in the coming months.
You seemed to be hounded by some persistent flies a few times... I took my daughter wild bilberry picking Sunday gone and we were getting pestered by them but I had some insect repellent in the bag and it worked really well against the flies. To be honest I bought it to protect against ticks when we were walking across the moors on the tea trail. Not sure what it will be like against midges but it was Care Plus Anti-Insect Sensitive 20% Saltidin Roll-on (60ml)... wasn't too expensive either.
What camera and selfie stick do you use? I tried filming my last walk and the shaking was all over the place. I got some new toys to try out next time, hoping to bag 3 Hewitts in southwest Northumberland on the weekend but might test it out with some more old colliery stuff beforehand.
Thanks for sharing the walk, always enjoy your videos.

I started with just a cheap camera and used the video function. But as I got into it, and knowing I was doing the Pennine Way I treated myself to a GoPro Hero 4 Silver as you can plug an external mic in. I had a Edutige ETM 001 mic for this video but it had a fault so some of the sound is clear and other times its not. Anyway they changed it and I have a new one now so the next walk the sound should be pure quality....not what Im saying, just the audio!
As for the selfie stick, I just use my walking pole with a ClipShot attached, very versatile piece of kit. Check it out on Google.
The shaking is all about technique and Im sure you will find how to solve it. Dont pan quickly, just slowly move the camera around to capture what you need.
Oh a word of warning, Go Pro takes a bit of editing with a good program and takes sometime to put together, so unless youre into that kind of thing, stick with a simple inexpensive version. If youve got a camera with video function it will be better than the one I first used and the films I made arent too bad so stick with it.

As for the flies, I noticed them more on the video than when I was walking, and I dont use anything. Once they smell me they tend to move on or die!

more great memories, dragged the girlfriend up Gordale scar in the early 90's and she still married me, Stayed at the Queens Arms lovely place, and I can remember when the Falcon didn't have handpumps, the beer was poured straight from the barrel into a big jug and then you filled you pints up. Had a pint for you on the Antrim Coastal Walk last week.

Sean, you we be glad to know you can still get a pint poured from the barrel, its just that Im a bit of a wuss and like the frothy bubbles in mine. What was the pint you had for me called?

after the ups and downs of the coastal path my nephew kept saying " this bags too heavy " so you got a pint of Irish "heavy"

Whoo, I just love heavy, pints, not bags. Cant stand them.......or rather......cant stand up in them! Cheers.
