I feel you. In the beginning, I was so annoyed I had to change all my videos to the vertical aspect ratio, zoom in, and all that, but the more I did it, the more I slowly enjoyed making Reels. It took me some time to learn and to even become good at it, but now most reels reach thousands of new people (And I do not have a big following at all) so Reels are great for cold leads and getting your name out there. I still prefer UA-cam for actually building a community and more in-depth stuff
Really strange when everybody says that images will not be recommended to anyone else! My wifes account haves 78 k and each time she upload 1 image she gets around 15k followers, sometimes with not even Tags, so whatsup with Instagram? When she uploads REELS do not have that engagement compared with photos.... and they are good reels.... So this is really really strange, any idea whats happening ???
Seriously? There’s no understanding on the algorithm or more importantly, ANY instruction on ANY step by step process on how to actually assemble the parts of a Reel we’d like to upload. Not helpful.
do you add music in Premiere pro or in Instagram and do you sync your cuts and transitions to music in premiere pro and then upload on instagram? if yes then does instagram allow it?
I went from 2k to 215k on IG in the last 2 months from just being consistent. I would upload 2-4 pieces of content a day. I would reply to as many comments and DMs as I can so that I can connect with my nation (followers). No trending sounds, no consistent hashtag strategy. It's all about quantity AND value!!
Thanks for the tips! I have been posting Reels like crazy and some work and others don't. Some have gotten a lot of views but haven't had much success having those views translating to followers. I have had more luck with Tik tok.
What really gets my goat is how poor the quality is (i.e. the bit rate). You spend a lot of time edit/ shoot to upload a video that plays back at low bitrate. It is really poor by IG and FB.
Good tips man. I 100% agree that posting reels is a must if your goal is Instagram account growth. Also posting on other platforms helps as well. I’ve seen massive growth in my IG from these 2 strategies.
thats so crazy, your reel came up on my IG and I was just browsing through youtube and came across this video and connected the two. my minds blown, you inspire me to push to learn how to shoot better videos!
Is it best to upload reels to your feed as opposed to not? I've noticed reels that go on my feed perform a lot better view wise than when i upload and don't include them in my feed
Hey there! Maybe a stupid question, but I would like to know where do you actually get this type of trending start footage for your reel in HQ - like the hammer on piano for instance :)
Fascinating! Can't wait to get out of quarantine (traveled in Africa, back in Taiwan) & test video uploads to Reels. I discovered that my most popular IG vid uploads were handheld S22 captures vs. my traditional multicam YT style vids.... Love your LUTS. Been following you on YT for 5+ years.
Hello Folks, I wanna ask you which camera some of the instagram models are using. For example. Dennis Boeer. Michael Yerger. Jaco Brott I would like to know which camera are the using, I love the quality of the pictures. Also are they editing it, how? If someone know, I would love to hear that from you. Thank u very much
If you edit everything on your computer to upload as a reel and if you use one of the "trending" audios on IG how do you rip the audio from IG to use in your editing software? 🤔
Just UA-cam the audio and download the song, then Instagram recognizes the song and now your video shows up under videos with that song, Instagram doesn’t always recognize the song which does suck it happened to me on two videos I uploaded
@@PeterGilguitar unless you edited the video through Instagram I don’t think there’s an easier way, and editing within Instagram I don’t think is even possible, in comparison to what your able to do on a computer
Step 1: tease them with what's to come Step 2: Don't make it bad, make it good instead (brilliant) Step 3: deliver on step 1 but make it too fast to actually comprehend so they have to watch it again to try to understand what is going on.
What’s crazy is I actually followed you on Instagram because of your reels and clicked this video without realizing it was you 😂 I seen the content and was like “hey that looks familiar”
Question for you: I have 3 ice stores. I.e. local businesses. If a do a lot of reels I may get more followers but they may be in other countries and not able to reach the stores. Due to the decreasing organic reach I would like followes that I do reach organically to be close. So should I conclude that excessive use of reels is bad for me?
Your sample reel u chose is click bait. Not a hook. Its not artistic its nasty. Outside of that i agree with everything else you said. Reels aint bad when done right.
Was kind of hoping you could explain how you edit your videos in a pro software and bring it back to the app in hopes of matching to the sounds inside instagram. My issue is I shoot from a pro camera and just bring the clips to my phone. I have come to find that the lack of color grading, or editing in a pro software has my content not looking the best; Equally an issue is the sounds in the app are not necessarily available anywhere to be sourced or exported. I imagine you just edit abunch of clips in the pro software without sound or captions -- or maybe captions are used -- and export, then go to the reel function and just piece them in that way? Any clarity would be greatly appreciated.
@@Henbu Do it, man! I still try to make long format content vertical and it goes nowhere. When it's short vertical, it does better. I'm really not a fan of the format. 😁
Helpful video! Do you have any tips for slow-mo shots? Sometimes I don't know yet that I want a shot in slow-mo. Currently I'm filming everything at a higher frame rate by default just in case I want something slower (I find that if I film in 25-30fps the video gets super choppy when I slow it) but I'm wondering if you have any other tips?
you should have titled your video what you said at 0:06 like How I grew 10,000 followers in a month on Instagram, I feel like that would get more views
Thats wild i do remember seeing that reel of that plane passing over you! I remember cause i wanted to recreate that... I live close to jfk airport in nyc
Thanks for the advice sometimes I put a lot of effort into a real and it gets barely any views. Then the next one is just straight from the camera rule and gets 5 to 10,000
I don't think there is a real way to pinpoint the algorithm. I have basic reels to satisfy my daily posting and those sometimes destroy my good edits in views. makes me annoyed at times.
Great video. would you mind covering in your next video what works best for reels? like post it on your profile (but if I do it will mess up my profile scheme) or post it and hide it after some days?
Hi Henbu liked the video and i always enjoy ur content on ig too...i wanted to ask, I need to grow my ig too, and in general I need to find a consistent way to get more clients (im at the beggining of my career so im literally nobody to criticise you here, to be clear im asking only to understand) back on instagram reels, they are the right thing to do now that can drives a lot of new people into our accounts like you said, so good reels = more followers...but... here's the question, do you get clients off them? / do you get more clients now that you have more followers? again im just tryig to understand if the reels people first: are potential clients. Second: if more followers = more clients. Thanks, hope this can be interesting to other people too. Peace.
Wow I had no idea that was you that created that reel with the hammer on the keyboard. I saw that a few times on Tik Tok. How do you feel about this latest trend of editing real quick photo or video reels. I’m constantly seeing the ones that include the tutorial. I mean I have one on my other IG account but seems like everyone is into that fast paced photo editing for Reels (depending on song choice) now and it’s losing its originality it seems. That said I’m about to make a few more myself LOL!!!
Reels is great because peoples concentration span is only a few seconds these days, i heard to get supper clarity uploads its done vis web browser, whats your IG page mate cheers👍
Yeah, that`s exactly what is my problem with this reels. They are designed in a way, that u have to watch them over and over again. Not because they are such high quality, that u love to do it, but rather because the quality is so low, that u just can't catch all information with one view. And u can not pause it or just jump to the scene you didnt quiet get. So you need to lower the quality of your content to make it fit the algorithem. Nothing I like to do, but unfortunatelly what I'll do in order to make peolpe see my content
thanks for the video just discovered you on the YT home page on desktop, subscribed and gave a link - curious, what mic are you using? Is that the DJI mic?
hello I have a question. When I edit a reel I will use the music in the video to edit on beat and when I upload it, it uploads the reel with my original sound and not the one of the actual owner or from the instagram account where I got it from. So my question is how do I post the reel without me being the original sound?
Thanks for sharing your experience in making reels! Hearing your initial stubborness really resonated with me because I also felt confused about how I'd fit my work into the format. Seeing your growth has been inspirational, and I'm glad your reels have been working for you 🔥

I heard the algorithm changed. It only shows to those who interact apparently

I noticed it is better.. You can always remove them from the grid after the interactions slow down.

Can I ask you which setting do you have for the video? Canva doesn;t accept my video because they are too heavy! Thank you
It's so funny to hear "the landscape of social media" when nowadays "landscape" format its gone
Hi nice vid! Where do you get the original clip + sound to edit to?
Are you filming vertically on your camera for IG or cropping in post?
indeed! ive been growing 100k because of BTS content on reels, its fun to experiment with
Your sample reel u chose is click bait. Not a hook. Its not artistic its nasty. Outside of that i agree with everything else you said. Reels aint bad when done right.
What I think is also the camera people using I see a lot of Sony look but today Nikon z6 is kicking … so I don’t know
Tik Tok is easier. Find a niche. Analyze the sounds to the niche and the quality content of the videos under that certain sound/niche.

I screen record the clip save the audio on Instagram and import the screen recording into my software
To long of a intro bro, I already know the benefits and bla bla bla just show me the set up tricks 😅
i hate reels
So, how do you feel about shooting vertical? It's been a tough transition for me since I'm old school and love traditional horizontal format.
Man I need to make a video about this , I feel the same way 😂 it’s so weird shooting vertical and a bit hard to get used too .

try 60fps
instagram is losing your time and work. youtube is much better
The amount of work for one reel seems….odd. Whats the endgame? The time vs outcome seems off to me.
why do you share your secrets which anyone use practically to grow their accounts??
Which camera and lens you prefer for shooting viral reels?
Great video man. Your reels are class 🔥
Can you show your gimbal set up , I noticed your camera is sideways
Will do! I’ll make a video about it soon 🙏
The Ronin can easily shoot in portrait 🤟
Reels are definitely the way to grow and also make some income on IG
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
wich "topics" do you choose on reels?
The landscape of social media is…..no longer landscape
you should have titled your video what you said at 0:06 like How I grew 10,000 followers in a month on Instagram, I feel like that would get more views

Instagram is becoming TikTok and there is a reason why I dont use TikTok.

Hey! I just found you, this is such valuable info for me! Thank you! 💗
*Somebody is still on Insta ? 😯*
love your cinematic green background. which lights are u using?
Does posting at certain times of the day really affect IG's view algorithm?
How'd you extract the music from? As it would be so much easier to edit transitions following with the beat when you do have the song
How do you get the music from instagram reels into premier or whatever software your using to edit with video then back to instagram ?
how do you upload your videos on IG without degrading the images ? I have an EOS R and whatever I upload does not look as clean as you :(
