HOW modern is this song!! 😳👍
This tune has haunted me as my intro to Neil's brilliant music and surrealism, I first heard this in 1981 on 'Innes Book of Record's' at a time when I was dashing out to work on night's, and this tune never moved from my memory after all these years, what a find.
Is there any sort of history behind this hidden gem of a song? It's brilliant!
I miss you Neil
Surreal! I love the way Neil Innis puts over his messages.
Thanks for posting this as it was from this one bit of film that started MY deep love for the MInack Theatre
Rock of ages roll me over at this point in time
All the troubles in the world are
Runnin' through my mind
Ball of fire, wind and water bring me back to earth
Birds and bees and dog-eat-dog and "get your money's worth"
For your love
Little spaceship ever spinning
At this point in time
With your cargo everlasting
At this point in time
For your love
Truly darling I can feel it
At this point in time
Only your love can reveal it
At this point in time
Rock of ages roll me over
At this point in time
All the troubles in the world are
Runnin' through my mind
Little spaceship ever spinning at this point in time
With your cargo everlasting
At this point in time
Rock of ages roll me over
At this point in time...
a real favorite which disappeared a while back.THANK YOU
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!! Where did you find it?? It might sound farfetched but I actually asked Neil Innes (on the Twitter, and not long before his very sad departure from this Earth) if there was anyplace fans could lay their hands on a video collection of IBOR - and he replied to me! (What a lovely, humble guy!) He himself didn’t know of anything but audio for sale anywhere.
I am so grateful! This is the best music video on the planet! (I only wish we could have Viv’s kooky horn intro, too....) Thanks again! 👍👍👍
Is this song taken from a movie, or a tv show?
It’s from the TV programme ‘Innes Book of Records’.
