M son threw 3 in on hill so like each corn hill has the other corn growing out wards. And it looks messy can I cut of the ones on each side or just let it happen.

I have a small maize bed and i've been experimenting with ccorn density the past 3 years, i tried to do square sacing, but bc my bed is msall i needed to do hand polination and there was pests like grasshoppers so i had to fall back to spaced rows again.

On a row spacing between each plant is 15/17 cm ; and each row should be distant of 75 cm. At start (sowing), corn seeds need a NPK - SO3 - Mn - Zn fertilizer. ; & at 6 leaves stage urea.
Row spacing is the space between two rows of corn. Plant spacing is the spacing between the seeds/plant down a given row.
How many tons the acre will get of corn seeds harvest by this way ?@@MrWookie21

Which is the best
I planted sweet corn by hand for a late crop, and put in two seeds every 7 inches. Information that I come across tells me to grow them singly. It looks like they are all germinating and I will have double stalks. If I let the double stalks remain, would that be detrimental?

Wish he would translate acre plantings into home garden size plots, eg 20ft x 100 ft??
Just do a bit of Math, 1 acre is (208ft x 208ft) for math sake lets just say 200ft, if you calculate 1/4 acre thats (50ft x 50ft). Depending on how you want your Row Spacing & Plant Spacing will determine what you can plant. its just Math, Just have to adapt Commercial planting to home garden plots, hope that helps.
Sir please tell me about the maximum plants that can be planted in an acer...and exact sq feet of your acre...means area taken as an acer
On our dairy farm, we’ve been planting 15” rows for 16 years. We’ve plant up to 58,000 to the acre and still had a great yeild. It all depends on quality of your soil and the amount of fertilizer you put down

1. Start with fresh corn seeds for the best results.
2. Directly sow seeds approximately 1.5 to 2 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart.
3. Cover with soil, space your rows of seeds 30 to 36
inches apart.
4. Water your block of corn well after planting.
5. Corn stalks are sturdy and should not need staking.

Those ears of corn are small and do not reflect the best potential yield for corn. Populations in this video are probably 10% to 20% too high. It is also very advantageous to use flex ear hybrids for the plant to adjust ear size according to population and available moisture. The larger the ears the larger the individual kernels which contribute greatly to test weight which are more bushels because of test weight. Test weights can vary from 2 to 4 lbs. and more. At 2 and 4 lbs. more test weight this is over 8 and 16 bu/acre with a 225 bu. yield or anywhere from $24-$48 to $64 per acre more. With 1,000 acres or crop that is $24,000-$48,000 to $64,000 not taking into account for the lower seed cost. I have to wonder what is the motive for the very high corn plant populations? Even at a 10% lower plant population the savings in seed would be about $30,000. So the total potential increased income from this approach could be anywhere from $54,000 to $94,000 per 1,000 acres of crop. To conclude I think adequate moisture, fertility and disease control are higher priorities than population.
I agree here. Many factors in this equation to fail the crop even if population is kept high. You have to still hope that germination rate holds up .. with all the high population plans ✌🏽
It all starts with the quality of the soil . If the soil has everything the plants need the plants will do the rest with little to no help other than a few scratches with the ol garden how. We NEVER use any fertilizer or any kinda plant food that we don't make ourselves and it's all organic matter from different parts of our 90 acres. Works better than anything man made ever will and it just goes right back into the soil in the garden to keep building better soil.
