We had two of these on the back of our work boat. No sound like those when they got synced together. Well, maybe the Matra at the 1971 LeMans 24 hours.
Good morning Merc, so I rebuilt the fuel pump. New check valve’s, gaskets, diaphragm. It seems to rev up fine with it in gear. Seems strong. I have great spark, compression is great. Thru out the day we would let it sit and go out and it fires up instantly. We went out this morning, just a little choke and Just wouldn’t fire. I hit it with a squirt of starter fluid and fired instantly. We redid the carbs, new floats etc. we haven’t taken it to the lake yet to see if it will power up but why is it so hard to start after sitting all night. I’m lost. It purrs great when it starts. What am I missing
Where do you get your CDI harnesses and how do you find the correct one for the engine your servicing? Looking at a 1500 from 1985 that’s needs a harness.
I’ve got a 82 80hp merc 4cyl it runs great without the muffs but runs like crap in the water and she barley goes I mean like barley and falls on her face I have to ease to full throttle and at full throttle I’m barley going 5mph or 10mph like it’s in limp mode The first day after I cleaned carbs she ran like a champ I accidentally turned the idle timing screw when I went to go turn up my idle and I put it back where it was and when I went on the lake after that about 5 mins into my trip it just started running like first explained please help your the only guy I feel like can help me I’ve tried everything except for pulling off the carbs and cleaning them again because it’s got a brand new 6 gal gas tank so wouldn’t think that would clog it
@@MerCSonL6 there was a line I think it was a vacuum line from the top of the engine to the very bottom of the engine that ran behind the cdi box It was deteriorated I replaced it and it seemed to startup easier. But haven’t taken it to the water to test it yet. What was that line I replaced?
Your videos are cool and everything but, there’s no way in hell I could ever work side by side with you😂 You’re somewhat rude..I enjoy your videos though😂😂😂😂👍🏾
your safety standards are below any acceptable standards. I have watched four of your videos already. I will not be doing that again. what a cowboy. stop being over worked, underpaid. this might help you to slow down and think of your own safety.

It's not getting enough fuel. I would integrate a fuel injection system into the crankcase. I have a video on how this procedure is done.

What years of mercury 100 thru 150 L 6 outboards are the best to buy? Thanks Jim
What model and brand is your ultrasonic cleaner
Great video! Why 19 or 20 degrees?
Gas is crap compared to the 70s. The 19 helps protect against detonation. Son
@@MerCSonL6 that makes sense! Thanks! Bob
@@MerCSonL6 I have a 1974 Mercury 402. I guess that would apply to it also.

Its definitely a fuel delivery issue. Not necessarily carb but the entire fuel system needs checked including the fuel pump.

@@wildriderz_bw no. That pulls oil up to lubricate the top bearing. Important.
