  • Hey there people
Finally i got around to replacing the front shock that was giving me headache. One of the Bilstein shocks had a knocking sound..and i have now replaced both front shocks with two new Koni shocks.
Also..i put on a set of Ahmed Bayjoo 3dr spec springs...which will hopefully help the ride quality. And after testdriving the car..i can definetly say it was a great success :)
I hope you like the video people :)
    Greetings,Stefan

The new stance of the Cosworth looks just about perfect. I’m happy lol 👍

thank you sooo much mate.I apreaciate that.I am not to sure yet..it is so different to what im used to.But i guess i will get used to it.The most important thing was that the car was sooo nicer to drive...So...i can hopefully tweak the rear springs just a tad...to lower it by a hairsthread in the future. But for now it definetly works :)

Love the new look, Cossies always look better with a slight tail up stance. Is your front cross member standard ?

Wow Stefan it's shock absorber time for you too? :)))... To be seriously, Koni vs Bilstein it does not matters... Koni Sport and Billy B8's are almost the same quality dampfers, and it is man's personal choice which one to choose. I enjoyed video pretty much. Stefan, when i was doing the front dampfers job on my fathers MK4 GTI, we used shock absorber claw separator, and it was pretty easy to remove it from the knuckle. What about the Ford? I saw that you removed a lot of stuff to remove the shock and strut....
Stefan i want also to ask, will that puller you showed work with W210 ? I saw somewhere that guys used 22mm puller for that job. I want to invest in that tool in future and wanna be sure that it will fit W210 ball joints too...
Greetings my Friend :) Hope you are doing well. Best wishes!!!

heyyy there my friend :) Yes..it was shock time for me too :) I love the Bilsteins...but with one of them beeing broken..i needed a set of two new fronts..and the Konis were very nice price..and for the Ford Cosworths..they are very good. And i have now driven the car also ..and they are very nice. They are not to stiff. So that is very nice. And yes...you are right..there is a very nice claw tool for spreading the "knuckle clamps holding the shock"...but we dont have that at the workshop i work for.But that is a tool i would like to have....Hmm.....that balljoint separator tool i think will work on the w210 also yes :) definetly a very nice tool.I really dont like to hit suspension components with hammers...so it is very nice to have "pressing" tools like this :) Greetings,Stefan :)

Great. Agree with you Stefan, Hammering the suspension components is awful idea. Today there are enough tools, to avoid this method. Thank you for the information. Hope you are doing well. Regards :)))

heyy there.I had a look at the video..as i actually forgot to save a photo of this. But no,if im not mistaken..it says 180 up front..and 380 in the rear..

@@skourias8125 No problem :) oh...im am not sure mate...but i have a feeling that you might have these springs beeing loose in your shock setup.I have read people having issues using the Bayjoo springs on 4x4 Cosworths. And the springs beeing loose when the car is lifted up in the air.....Which is the reason why i was hesitant putting on these springs...and i did alot of research before "pulling the trigger "....But did you get springs FOR the 4x4...or?

    • @skourias8125
      @skourias8125 4 роки тому

@@TheCarTakerGarage yes,I've heard about this.. I bought bayjoo springs for 4x4 cosworth from burton. Now,we will see..Normal poundage rate would be 380 front and 180 rear. I don't why yours are opposite.

      @@TheCarTakerGarage std 3-dr Springs were 106 lb/in front - 263 lb/in rear, Sapphire 2wd were 118 lb/in front - 286 lb/in at rear.
4x4 std springs are 140lb front/120lb rear. So,you are correct about your bayjoo springs rate (180 front/380 rear)
